Doesn't intercept death triggers, costs mana, doesn't give you an immediate return on the mana investment, and no payoff for accruing the treasures. I strongly feel this is another case of WotC having multiple levers to balance the power of an effect and just flipping them all instead of bothering to fine tune. Do we have a UG Legendary with no downsides that draws and ramps yet? I'm trying to fill out my "R&D is trash" bingo card for this set.
IMO as a Commander Vraska sadly isn't great, but in your causal EDH decks that care about treasures e.g. Vazi, Keen Negotiator a commander that cares about making a lot of treasures Vraska, The Silencer will be a great in the 99 of those decks.
I honestly think she could have a home in Glissa the traitor. Doing your standard kill stuff / recursion. But now keeping what you kill for extra value.
So while she's not cEDH viable, she's still a solid High Power/Casual Commander. I'm planning to build one such as a "Vraska Tribal/Waifu" deck with the added restrictions of using all of the Vraska Planeswalkers and "synergy" cards (aka: names Vraska specifically in the rules text) and Vraska Joins Up. Were it financially reasonable, I'd use only Vraska art on the cards where applicable, but meh. But I think it'll be fun to use my Waifu despite her middling status at the upper echelons
There's a one mana blue instant that would let you do the same thing called Mask of the Mimic. So for 2 less mana, you could sac a creature and put your own Thoracle into play. It doesn't see any play because it's too cute
If you can turn the treasures into creatures again you get some kind of loops, thats why WotC made it "tapped" treasures. Stuff like March of the Machines (in green we have Titania's Song, also pretty nice stax piece) , might also be a decent stax piece anyway against all the treasure token strategies and turning off fast mana rocks too (and then you get to steal them as it turns artifacts into creatures). Hey maybe even stuff that turns lands into creatures, like Living Plane). If you lean into it, maybe you can put a bunch of stax pieces together that turn into a game-win as well.
I don't think I would add spot removal equipments just run normall spot removal spells. both green and black has a bunch of them. snuff out feels great for this commander.
-As per my understanding, you kill your opponent commander, Vraska triggers and before the trigger is put on the stack, State base actions are checked, your opponent can do whatever they want with that commander and just then the trigger goes to the stack. Since Vraska doesn't care the zone the card is currently in when her ability resolves, she SHOULD in fact bring back that commander on your side as a treasure, but I'm not 100% sure.- Edit: NVM seems like works just like Necroskitter that is known that it does not work in that way... basically there will be nothing to return to the battlefield if your opponent puts the card back in the command zone.
If they choose to leave in the yard then yes, you'll get it as a treasure. If they choose to put it in the command zone, there's nothing for you to return so you'll end up with nothing

everyone missing a huge component for this card to be cedh worthy, turn lands into creatures then blow them up while you get them

This creature feels like a card for the 99 more than the command zone.
Yeah it could be more of a 99 card honestly.
Would love to hear your opinion on Taii Wakeen, Perfect Shot. PLEASE!

Vraska joins up could be an interesting Sisay card
YES! I love that new card for sisay actully.
I really like Rakdos, the Muscle, getting into infinite sac loops seems pretty sweet! But, I'm not sure if he's viable for competitive play though.
Pontus is playtesting that in tymna dargo actully. Using it to sac dargo.
You can steal thassa consult wins at instant speed with a removal spell and your own consult/tainted pact
True! But still ...

man lands is a funny idea
You would be right if it said "is put into an opponent's graveyard" but it says "that an opponent controls".
A lot of legendaries in this set but for Sisay, I can only imagine Tinybones and vraska joins in get in. Even then, what do you cut?
steal dockside for 1 mana is huge, especially for nonred decks
@@fruhlingsbilderany spot removal you play should do the trick
What are some equipment that can ping targets for one damage with this commander? I smell a very very strong spot removal commander :)
I don't think I would add spot removal equipments just run normall spot removal spells. both green and black has a bunch of them. snuff out feels great for this commander.
@@cedhtv I saw some people building in sacrifice heavy cards as well to get around boots and then they added gross tergrid
is this a good card for Blood Pod?
I don't think so.
How does it work with dying commanders? can they put it in the commandzone or do you have it as a treasure?

I feel like she is great in the 99 in the right deck
In the right deck vs the right meta then YES!
@@cedhtv yeah, graveyard loops can become popular depending on what comes out. I can totally see this in Tymna Kamahl
I love this because it gets commanders
Could be used inside sisay for the colors.
Edit: nvm Tyvar exists
yeah. like that ...
