@RelaxingForLife While I agree, but for how long would purposely losing last? As I guarantee not every team will give up a win for the other team. The athletes get money from playing the sport, and what I would assume the marketing around it. Nobody wants to see a game where they know their team will lose, and the team wouldn't want to play because of that. Investor's will lose money, tourism may falter, teammates may not get paid, it has a weird domino effect. It's truly terrible, but I don't see that working long term. 😬

In a small small way I understand. When I was a kid my mom would whoop my ass daily. I was the only one and if you ask her it’s because I was more “hard headed” or “needed more guidance”. No she was just beating me up and bullying me. I would never say it out loud because that’s not the image everyone else sees. I remember I made my first ever C or D. My sisters and I were A or A/B students. I knew that she would kill me when I got home. I begged my older sister not to show her grades, but she wanted to because she was proud of herself. The whole way home I cried, I could feel this fear that left me heavy and petrified. I thought of how to end my life, run away, change the grade. Until finally I just stayed in that fear until I was numb. My body went on autopilot and I just walked home and took it. I know this isn’t 1 percent of what they were feeling but I know what it feels like to go somewhere you know isn’t safe, not good for you, to do something for honor, or pure autopilot. The rest of the world stares at you and you aren’t staring back. Just blank. You’re there but not there anymore.
I feel so sorry for you. It must of been hard going to the car and realizing that you are going to get in big trouble and get hurt, I'm sorry that you went through that
Damn, this was a trip to read. I totally understand 🙋♂️ I used to get progress reports from school, and would visit my mom's family on the weekends. I knew my progress report would be in the mail, when we returned for the week at my main home. Seeing it there physically, my father handling the paper, opening it & reading it. I haven't had these memories in a while, and it's a powerful reminder how we grow up & move on.. regardless if those memories are simply suppressed, or dealt with in any way. That gut feeling. It was so painful & scary, to be on an 1.5 hour drive home, knowing it was curtains once we arrived.
Your mother was a horrible person, don't let it control you. Treat her accordingly and succeed despite of it. My mother wasn't physically abusive but did everything in her power to ruin my life every chance she got. Now that her and her boyfriend are getting old and are looking at 25 years on a 30 year home loan. They are begging for help and it will never come from me. The end is sweet when they need you and receive the same energy they gave you when the shoe was on the other foot
They got off pretty easy, they were publicly berated for 6 straight hours in front of 400 government officials, after that they had to turn on the team's manager. He got the worst of it and took most of the blame. After which he was forced to work a construction job. Overall they got it easy Past failed athletes who had displeased the regime have been sent to prison camps, of which are known for appalling conditions and abuse and torture
They continued playing football for their clubs after they got back. They didnt get murdered, you can look them up, they have wikipedia entries showing the teams they played for after 2010. Some played in Japan and Germany as well as North Korea. This is such BS.
Both can be on different levels, you have to fight to keep things the way they are sometimes, even if it looks petty, else it just leads to shit like this
I have said this for yrs. If you live in America and continually bitch about being opressed - You should be sent to a country with REAL opression for the next 5 yrs. 🤷♀️

Overall they got it easy
