Why on earth would I believe anything SDG&E has to say? Last year their profit was 3billion dollars. We live in the most moderate climate and pay the highest rates in the Country. They never give rate payers a break. At least 25% of their customers are late with their payments. That alone should be a wake up call that their rates are way too high!

SDGE is so full of it. They are making a billion a year, but no it’s the non-profit option that would cost more.

So SDGE is profiting a billion a year but saying non-profit would cost more. Didn't they have a math teacher in their elementary school???

The electric in San Diego use to be a public utility and when it was, the energy use to be a lot cheaper and there was no worry of wildfires due to power lines not being kept up. We must become a public utility again.

SDG&E, during the floods, the supervisors and leads made in payroll $20,000-10,000 per week. Why is my question

SDGE has to go. A for-profit power company is never going to have the people in its best interest. Making money is always going to be priority #1. Electricity is a public utility and it should be owned by the public.

The nonprofit will start making money in 10 years that they will then continue to put back into the grid. I’m cool with that.

This can be done this is always done for water systems. The power system is no different! But the only negative is it will have to rely on the state for all sorts of revenue for repairs and installations because just like water districts. If you took the amount of people they serve in just their for salary alone cannot be covered by the revenue of their meters rates for daily operations ,so it will be the same for electric that's what people want government take over its socialism cuz anything sponsored by the government is socialism! There is no such thing as a non-profit running utility if that was the case, it would be called a mutual Utility District, and that's not what they're calling it!

You successfully argued against yourself.. The city can't fix a pothole, there's no way it can figure out how to generate electricity. Where do you think our electricity generation comes from? The maintenance capex, city has no money. Leave utilities to the private market
