The Dragoon LB3 into the back flip just in time not to die DAMN dude that was badass! And yeah between the Dragonsong, Estinien's hopelessness, Alphie's loyalty, and our friends'... spirits? coming to our aid I don't know a single person who wasn't a wreck at that point. There's something so quietly beautiful too, about Estinien's gentle voice while he reflects in his recovery room. Come to think of it, his unexpected white hair now free of that dark helmet feels like a metaphor, doesn't it? He was trapped by his vengeance, like Nidhogg, but underneath it was always fueled by love, like Hraesvelgar... that's the part of him that you saved. Congrats on having officially finished Heavensward!
When Estinien said "Where once I craved vengeance, I now crave rest." He was talking about rest for Nidhogg's soul. Not for himself. Because he could see himself in him & he understood his anger.
1. The spiky dragon is Vedrfolnir. He's actually prominent in regards to the FATEs in The Churning Mists. In order to clear the lengthy FATE chain there, you're going to need a few allies since a majority of the FATEs need you to keep an NPC or 2 alive or you have to start over. But complete the chain and you get to have a sparring match with Vedrfolnir. 2. Now that you've completed 3.3, you can now go visit The Firmament as well as the Empyreum Housing Districts. The Firmament will enable you to really level your crafters and gatherers if you haven't done so already, and it was added in 5.1 as a thing for us as crafters to restore over the course of the expansion. What you'll see now is the final, complete version. Empyreum was added in 6.1 as the very-long-awaited Ishgardian Housing. 3. As you've no doubt noticed, FFXIV really knows how to mess with your emotions without being forced (most of the time). I literally just did that trial myself on my main alt just last week, and I was still hyped as ever. And still, I enjoyed watching your reaction to it as well. I'm going to stop watching until I catch my character up some more. So many things to dive into...
The moment everyone is running from the dragons, but we walk in like it’s nothing, that was the moment I fell completely in love with this masterpiece alllll those years ago. I’ve been enjoying your reactions SO MUCH! I cannot wait to see more ❤
As if main 3.0 wasn't amazing enough, they topped it off in the most powerful way. The 3.x patches are beautiful for how they go and show us that the country isn't 100% saved yet. There's a long way for everyone to go, and they have to save themselves and each other. And so do we, by drawing strength from the spirits of our lost friends and their love and sharing that same strength with Estinien. That *music* especially. Fighting Nidhogg isn't some big triumph. It's the sad, broken end of a being who was hurt beyond all recovery a long long time ago, and the chance for his soul to finally be free. It's a tragedy. (When you get to the end of Shadowbringers, go do the Level 80 Dragoon quest. It's an excellent little capstone to the HW storyline and will give you feels.)
I agree. Sohr khai was the best dungeon at that point, and I even have that song on my phone and listen to it all the time. I love watching you go thru the story. I am glad I found you and can't wait til you reach the end.
The music in FFXIV means everything, never ignore it, and listen often after major events. You will often find new context through the story that the music has had in front of you all along. ESPECIALLY Answers. Dragonsong is also one that the words become clear only toward the end of HW/Dragonsong war. The songs tell the story, literally.
I didn't know they changed the Hraesvelgr fight. Am I wrong? I recall it being a bunch of small platforms you would have to jump between while he destroys platforms as the fight progresses.

Watching that final scene after the trial still brings me to tears all these years later.
I love your reactions to this game
Same! It's so sweet watching him get all caught up in the story and loving the characters
Award winning for a reason!

"For those we have lost; for those we can yet save."
Even if Haurchefant and Ysayle never knew Minfilia, they certainly shared that sentiment.

one of top 5 moments in game... music is always a huge part of it

Chat giving Twerk a hard time with moogles was hilarious! Pretty sure I straight up told them they all look alike.
Look, if we don't give him a hard time about moogles, who will???
