As old school I hate these things. Who makes them? So there's a much deeper level for Oxford racing the Dawgs. It's like nobody went to school who wrote this stuff. I first saw this and wondered what is the point of a video? It's antithetical to the whole point. Nobody likes these guys who make these rowing videos. Again, just stop. People who understand rowing 'bought' the book for support but don't actually 'read' it. It's a cocktail mat at best. Those guys had nothing to do with this new exploitation thing which will go nowhere and that's why rowing is different. If anyone can't understand this you don't understand the meaning of the sport as it were. It's offensive to some people. It's not about internet videos and drones. Find an ex rower and talk to them. Write about the beauty of the sport, if that. Nobody in any of this stuff seems anything other than exploiting a tradition only a few can understand. Social Media and rowing are not compatible in any which way. I spent last two hours exploring it and it's never going to happen. Sure, recruits a few but that's up to the colleges and universities. It's a money sport, and time. You do it for different reasons. The music is usually a turn off and perpetuates some weird desperate need to find rowing people. The rowing finds the rowers not this funded mechanism. Kids and young adults know that. Of course no disrespect to Oxford program I only wish. But, I'm sure there are thousands there who can't stand stuff like this. I would suggest please just go with the beauty of it, and not all the hype. It makes stomachs turn. Just race results, some drone videos of races are great, and some after race photos. That's all that's necessary.
The closeness of the blades makes my anxiety spike. But beautifully shot, and amazing rowing technique!!
