    CORRECTION: The Mortarions Anvil stratagem isn't quite as powerful as I thought I'm afraid - re-read it and it can only be used on charging units... Makes it nowhere near as useful, but still a nice-to-have. Overall I'd still rate them as one of the stronger companies!

      ferrymen and inexorable are the best two. give that scythe (ferrymen) to your LoC as an anti horde unit, it's great at protecting the flanks of your army. I heard about some people using a bloat drone with flash outbreak and the droning to deliver the debuff, sounds pretty cool as well.
      I'm busy working on a list for ferrymen, but going to get more Daemon engines to be able to run an inexorable list as well. They're the two best IMO.

    One thing I would like to say about the poxmongers is their synergy with blight haulers. The iron clot furnace doesn’t just affect one daemon engine but rather one daemon engine unit. It’s the same with their stratagem too and blight haulers can be taken in units of three. This means you can have a unit of three blight haulers with 4+ invulnerable saves and have them fire in engagement range

    For the Ferrymen I would rate On Droning Wings as one of the best stratagems in our codex. You can create a 12” no charge/fight first rules range from the Foul Blightspawn with revolting stench vats. Very oppressive against a melee opponent.
    Or combine with the Fugaris Helm and Living Plague on a Plague surgeon and you have a 6” 6+++ aura for friendlies and a 12” aura of enemy units being unable to be affected by auras.

    So i am an all in mortarion's chosen sons as the best for me. Getting the Vormytrix is insane you just put the body guards terminators with him and hes a killing machine unchargeable for his special ability overwatch and engaging the mini lords of contagion as you get chosen to fight last. That being said its an assault weapon meaning you can advance freely as well as use a stratagem to increase the range of a plague weapon by 6" making it a 18" flamer weapon. Also 1 more thing 99% of the people would disagree on but getting the demon princes plague spewer for 5 points and adding 20 points for pathogen to get it 1 more ap turns it into a s6 -2ap and damage with 2 this stratagem. The Vormyttrix is no joke it is deleting units

    When I first cracked the new codex I only played with Inexorable and Ferrymen. Inexorable is good but not great. The WLT and strat is more situational than it looks on paper. Unfortunately Forgeworld contagion was nerfed soon after so Ferrymen is on hold for me. After 25+ games with the new codex I found Harbingers and Wretched to be extremely strong. Harbingers turns Poxwalkers into incredible mortal wound engines, and Wretched turns a plaguecaster into a mortal wound factory using the Wretched the relic and WLT. So for now I’m sticking with those 2

    I don't think Poxmongers' Sanguous Flux is that bad. Models that aren't Space Marines and are under half their starting size have a 1/3 chance of fleeing, 50/50 with Sanguous Flux, plus lower leadership means their more likely to fail their moral and have to check attrition. I feel you should be able to get a few free troops every round with this

    • @biotechhazard2742
      @biotechhazard2742 3 года назад

      I will agree that Sanguous Flux isn't bad but I do think it's still a niche warlord trait. First you gonna have to destroy enough models in a unit to have your opponent make a Morale tests the average ld is 7or8 (so 6 or 7 with Sanguous Flux) so you need a minimum of 2 destroyed model to make them fail on a Morale tests on a 6 if the unit/army in question doesn't have abilities that ignores or autopass Morale tests. Then after one model flees your opponent need to rule 1's (or 2's when Half-strength) to have more models flee. That a lot of effort for having a change of destroying a hole unit will you can as easily have the same result without fear of retaliation by staking AP: weapons, abilities & stratagems with Ferric Blight for easier unit destruction. I am a new 40k player so unless I miss/miss understand the rules the best way to use this warlord trait is to have a model equiped with a Plaguebringer and have the Fleeing Vectors Secondary.

    • @doctordoubledakka3939
      @doctordoubledakka3939 3 года назад

      Necron Warrior High leadership, but if you knock out 5 in a turn(not easy but by no means hard) there is a %50 chance they fail morale. If that morale kill was the 11th model, the other 10 flee on a 50/50. That's 6 free kills that won't get to make reanimate rolls. I would be tilted if that happened to me.

      @biotechhazard2742 3 года назад

      @@doctordoubledakka3939 Okay i'll admit forgot about the -1 on attrition test. Still think it a niche not because everyone plays Space Marines but this warlord trait can work beter or worse depending on your opponents army will some of the other plague company warlord traits are universally useful. some exempales this warlord trait has beter effect depent on the unit size Horded army's that have 20/30 models per unit and standerd 5 to 10 model per unit works nice with this trait. Whilst this trait (excluding plaguebringer) will have a hard time againt 3 to 5 model per unit army like Custodes and this trait is useless againt Imperial/Chaos Knights that are mostly 1 model per unit army. Furthermore as I stated before some army's (some subject to change) have abilities that can either negate this trait benefits or just automatically passed the Morale test. All Space Marines chapers have And They Shall Know No Fear that basically negates your -1 on attrition test. But dark angels are especially good againt this trait with abilities like: Grim Resolve & Inner Circle and then there are Unit abilities like Poxwalkers Fodder (when your having a mirror match) or Tyranids Synapse.

    I'd say that it depends on what you're gonna run and what you actually have. There's nothing here to make Plaguemarine lists actually viable, and most of the Warlord traits are pretty meh. The best is probably the ability to turn off all re-rolls, as every single army in the game relies on them.
    I will say this though. I'm still pretty annoyed at the fact they scrapped the Vectoriums and instead gave us 7 'Plague Companies'. It feels lazy. Before, each warband described actually felt different, each specialised in something and I thought they'd be fleshed out with chapter wide rules and independent traits etc. But, instead, now you can make two Daemon Engines lists (Poxmongers and Inexorable), Terminator list's (4 Plague Companies) and the Terminus Est. That's so lame.
    Vectoriums they completely scrapped: The Pallid Hand, The Apostles Of Contagion, The Fecund Ones, Glooming Lords, Putrid Choir, Pox Mortis, Mouldering Claw, Weeping Legion, Carrion Hounds, Heralds Of Despair and The Corpsemakers.
