You could put Micah and Sam OLB. But for a 3-4 you need 2 250 pound thumpers at MLB. Plus 3-4 players so much harder to find cause so little amount of colleges run 3-4 Defense.

I'm glad DQ is gone!! I WAS DONE AFTER YEAR TWO!! The only way that I can see Vrabel becoming the DC, is if JJ guarantees him the head Coaching position if McCarthy screws it up again. So it would be a one year deal.

Long ago, the Giants had an outside linebacker named Lawrence Taylor, and he was a terror. If I remember correctly, the Giants played a 3-4 scheme, and that gave Taylor the freedom to be the versatile player that he was.
In some ways, Micah Parsons reminds me of a Lawrence Taylor type of player. I don't think Micah Parsons is really a defensive end. I think he would be best as a linebacker of some kind, but maybe he needs to play outside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme. I wouldn't fear a change to a 3-4 scheme, but to do that, the Cowboys would need to find big linebackers who could play inside linebacker in that scheme. They would also need to find true nose tackles and ends who have the right qualities to play in that scheme.
In some ways, I'm less frustrated by the Mazi Smith pick than I am by the Viliami Fehoko Jr. pick. Mazi Smith at least played last year. Fehoko never played a down. With Dan Quinn going to the Commanders, maybe they will trade their fourth-round pick for Fehoko and trade a fifth-round pick for Nahshon Wright. If we had those picks, maybe we could draft linebackers to fit a 3-4 scheme.

I was really worried that Dan Quin was coming back for 2024. I'm not a fan of his for the last 2 seasons. He is overrated by the national media and I'm glad he's gone. Against good Offensive Coordinators, he repeatedly fails to make play/strategy adjustments when his game plan is failing. The overall quality of our defensive players and their outstanding overall effort are the biggest reasons we did as well as we did.
I agree with you about Vrabel being a great choice to replace him.
Aden Durdy wasn't coaching the Dline it was Quinn , but yeah DQ needs to take him to Washington.
Zimmer is a strong candidate per sources close to the team
Vrabel would be great for our defense, Jerry would have to open up his wallet wide and pour out the money.

My question is Whitt the same players coach that DQ was?? As much as I liked DQ, I feel he created the problem of the players crashing when they got punched in the face and to me that is due to players not getting punched in the face by their coach during practices, meetings, etc. He made them softer when it came down to it. I want a DC that is going to get in their face about penalties and stupid moves and punching back when punched!! I appreciate DQ for breathing life back into our defense, but I also feel the culture he created was softer because he was such a players coach and I really feel this team is desperate for a coach that is going to punch them in the face and really bring out their inner mad men! If that's Whitt then so be it, but if he is just another players coach, move on!
Watch DQ go and make it do what it do .. without Jerry holding the door from opening he will get what he needs
