I think that a lot of the outrage for this show comes from one simple question. Why change it? You can like this show all you want, you can yell it’s good all you want. The only question that matters though is why tf does she change stuff? Everything this show had, has some kind of precedence in movies or books. Details have been established, lore has been created. Why does she think she has the ability/privilege to change aspects like that? They don’t affect story, they don’t add anything. But she couldn’t do even that. I have a link for a YT short in which I think, Bernthal explains this perfectly. I showed it to my gf (not a lifelong fan but she’s warming up the last couple years being with me) and simply said, passionate fans. And her response was: As they should be. I’m marrying her, idc WHAT YOU SAY. Just messing around man, just found your channel and I’m a fan. I’d love to hear your opinion on it
I think she just wants the recognition and prestige to be able to say "I was the first to have a vergence in the force" "I was the first to have force made children in the timeline" "I changed Vernestra Rwoh's total persona, even though there are books out" "I changed lightsaber lore". Then she screws up the timeline by having Vernestra go talk to Yoda at the end of the Acolyte. The sad thing about it, is that Kathleen Kennedy is letting her do it also. It makes me sad.
And I COMPLETELY agree. I think that if the people who call Star Wars fans that don’t like the show, whatever it is that they call us, they would understand. And if they don’t, it’s because they don’t want to. She went very out of her way to spite those fans with her selfishness and we didn’t like it. Simple as that 🤷🏻♂️
For bleeding crystals, I do believe that a user needs to actually willingly do it rather than accidentally pouring your hatred in the crystal and wabam it's suddenly red. I do think it also uses a pretty huge amount of energy out of the user to bleed one. I feel like the reason Dagan Gera's bleed might've seemed easier than Vader's could also maybe be explained by the fact that he bled his own crystal, the crystal he had lived with for years, he knew the crystal and the crystal knew him, that's what I'm telling myself. However the way Osha was just mad and bled on the crystal, and then it suddenly turned WHILE ACTIVATED looked cool but made no sense compared to everything else we've seen so far! Awesome video! I love how you weren't directly insulting the show and its creators, you seemed more impartial than many other RUclipsrs! If I may criticize a few things that I believe could help you out (This is in my opinion no need to take it as everyone's opinion if I say something that doesn't make sense and I don't mean any of this in a mean way, I just want to help you out a little) : When reading an article, I do think it would be more engaging if you would do a summary of each paragraphs while including the article on-screen for anyone to fully read it, otherwise I feel like most people can simply read faster in their minds than the speed at which anyone reads so, at least for me, I'll be more prone to skipping forward whilst reading. Also, giving a small "title" to each of your points could serve to separate and distinguish them easier like "1 - Easy Kyber bleeding?" or something. And lastly, I see you replying to every single comment people leave in a really casual, impartial and thankful way and I find that absolutely awesome, it must take a lot of work and energy to do that, so heck yeah, you're doing great, mah dude. Just be careful not to burn yourself out when your channel grows to a much bigger audience, there's gonna be a point where you might not be able to reply to every comments and that is alright. And with that, have a great day and may the Force be with you x)
Hey like your video. However I have a couple of points I’d like to consider on this topic. 1 when comparing how Vader and osha bled their Kybers. We should keep in mind that they are two very different situations. Vader was trying to bleed his and I think had so much trouble with it because of his internal conflict. Osha was have a mental break, murdering Sol, and just so happened to bleed her cystal in the process(her being next to a vergence may have also played a part). Adding to that point we see dagan gara bleed his crystal in Jedi survivor and that a pretty straight forward thing due to him filled rage over being betrayed by the Jedi. Think a good analogy for this is “I’m so mad I need to punch a wall” vs “I need to punch a wall so I need to get mad” 2 we’ve only seen this process a handful of times in cannon, so it’s hard to say how universal the process is or it’s. 3 as controversial has this statement my be. “It looks cool so it works” the visual is pretty striking and does a pretty good job of telling us what’s going on in osha mind and where she stands right now. It’s good visual storytelling and looks pretty darn good while doing it. That is something we need to keep in mind when talking about this. Like I said just some things to consider. Please don’t take this as negative I like your vid and the points you raised. It’s very refreshing to see someone giving an actual critique rather than just screaming that don’t like it at the top of their lunges so keep up the good work and have a good day.
Thanks for your comments and thoughts! I agree the visuals were very cool. I just think that getting away from the original thoughts of George Lucas has made it very unstable in what we believe. The Red Crystals should have been synthetic, but bleeding them is ok too(Im not mad at that).Anakin was a vergence in the force, and in Revenge of the sith when his eyes turned yellow, he was basically all in as a sith. In my opinion, Leslye is taking away from Anakin and him being the chosen one by having the twins be a vergence in the force, made from the force and be able to do these things that Anakin never did or could not do. I appreciate you comments and dont take them negatively at all. Like I said in the video, I love to debate! As long as we are debating it is fun, when people go crazy and start trolling and getting angry is when I cut it off! Thanks for watching!
@@thecarbonitejedi Appreciate it dude, however I would being of the fact that people said they didn’t like whatGeorge did with prequels and hate the guy for it. (not a comment on you it just seems that no one can win with our fanbase sometimes.) and I argue the opposite about Anakin. Even if they are ripping one for one form Anakins story(which I Idont think they are) I feel it is still to the benefit of anakins story. Anakin is the end the goal, the process perfected everything leads back to him. I hope they carry that forward in season two, but we can’t judge it based on that fact until it occurs. Regardless of your thoughts, take a solace in the fact then matter what happens anakin has always been and will always be the chosen one. May the force be with you my friend
Yeah the writing and acting was very wooden and all over the place. It had so much potential and I think it fell flat. Thanks for Commenting and watching!
Osha bleeding a saber so fast makes sense since she was so full of hate and felt betrayed. It made sense that was when it happened. The saber was broken so there was direct access to the crystal. In Vaders case was conflicted about himself and only when he believed there was no way to return to the light side, did he bleed the crystal. If the actress playing Osha was better to emote and the dialogue better this could have been a good show. Sadly the side characters were good or great, and the main where not. The whole "what happened 16 years ago" thing should have been a clear fuck up from the jedi and not everybody was stupid so people died. Right now the show is okay mostly because of ideas and side characters.
She’d been conflicted the entire season though? You don’t just click your fingers and get over it, “yep, imma sith now”. I agree the acting was poor and didn’t portray the turmoil of the character in the moment, but you don’t bleed a crystal accidentally or 30 seconds after using the dark side for the very first time
I don't know if it was actress or the directing, but she should of been yelling at Sol. There should of been a rip off "I Hate you!" I'm talking about foaming at the mouth. Then you can begin to thing about bleeding a crystal. But still bleeding a crystal is a willful thing to do, not something that happens by accident. But as you said the Saber was broken. At minimum it shouldnt' of started. At worst it should of blew up and taken her hand with it.
As others have mentioned, "bleeding" the crystal is a Disney Star Wars invention, and as usual, they don't even pay attention to their own lore, as what was portrayed in The Acolyte is not consistent with what came before in their written media.
Still an improvement over George's canon that had them just be synthetic crystals. Bleeding a crystal with your hatred is so much better. And, let's not pretend that George didn't fuck with his own canon. Do we forget the backlash about midichlorians? That Anakin built C3PO? It's like yall are new to Star Wars and storytelling in general.
A lot of people missed the detail in the close-up shot of Osha holding the damaged hilt. The crystal is poking out and actually touching her hand. Anakin’s blade doesn’t turn red because he’s never in direct contact with the crystal. He also had trouble turning that crystal in the comic, not because the crystal almost turned him back into Anakin, but because there was still remnants of Anakin inside Vader fighting him. After Osha heard Sol confess, there was zero ties left for her. She had been lied to her whole life and betrayed by the one person she thought she could trust. She’s also not your common force user. She’s the result of a vergence.
No im sorry but the turn was pathetic people turn to the dark side because of strong emotions like anger she has shown a flat performance all season and it doesnt just turn because you touch it it takes time and effort the show is pathetic
Anakin was a vergence in the force. When he killed all the younglings and the trade delegation on Mustafar, his eyes turned colors. He was truly a sith. There was no "need to touch a crystal" to turn it. Darth vader, when he bled the green crystal was wearing a glove on his organic arm and a glove on his robotic arm. He was still able to bleed it, but it didnt take 2 minutes to do it. Like I said in my video, it would have been cool if Osh would have used the lightsaber while it was still blue and then at the end been sitting on the island bleeding it. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and watching the video!
So I get your point. but turning your crystal red trough bleeding it wasn't the cannon ontell 2017, Right so they wouldnt of done that in the prequels. Originally the red crystals were artificial because Dark Force users couldn't use real ones. I never saw the part you said it had to be a ritual. Well I guess it is a order of things, so ya your right it would be a ritual. So help me out with this. Did she kill the Jedi that welded the Crystal ? Did she pore her hate in the Crystal ? I do think it was kind of lamb. The show was week. I'm scared it's ... I want more Sith lore just not like this
I wish they would have left the red crystals as synthetic crystals instead of the sith taking a Jedis crystal and bleeding it. But Im not angry about it, it is still cool and all, I just prefer the original legends about the crystals. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and opinions!

At worst it should of blown up and took her hand with it.
the article is misleading by calling it the creation of a sith lightsaber. Red lightsabers are not exclusive to sith. All of Vader’s inquisitors had red sabers and they are not sith. Bleeding a crystal is not an action that is exclusive to sith. There are fallen Jedi as well as dark force users but Sith Lords only become Sith after being anointed by a sith master. After the rule of Darth Bane, there were only ever two active Sith at any given time, anyone else that tagged along was a Sith Acolyte. Even Darth Maul became an excommunicated Sith. Now, what you said about Anakin bleeding his crystal in attack of the clones… every instance of crystal bleeding we’ve seen had the crystal exposed. Sol’s lightsaber cracked open and exposed the crystal. Dagan in Jedi Survivor intentionally removed his crystal to bleed it. On your third point, OSHA is not a Sith Lord, and crystal bleeding is not exclusive to Sith Lords. Sir, ANYONE that’s pissed off enough can bleed their crystal. Asaj Ventress had red sabers but Dooku never recognized her as a Sith Lord.
