Very informative, one of the only videos I was able to find on these type of shotguns I picked the Charles Daly over the citadel and just got it today I’m dying to go out shooting this weekend, you got some cool accessories on your warthog imma outfit mine to my liking
I agree with the racking to fire. I am new to semi-auto shotguns but this has a few interesting features that need to be learned. My Warthog shoots fine so far.
I can't wait to see some shooting videos of the warthog! Definitely looking forward to the weather clearing up soon. Once again, thanks for making these videos! Really appreciate it! Keep em coming 💯
You want to make sure the trigger is pre dry fired before making the shotgun cruiser ready in my opinion saftey off so all you have to do is rack it and pull trigger, if gun is pre cocked or racked the spring is left depressed. Just my opinion be safe thanks
I agree that you shouldn't leave it cruiser ready for a long period of time. Personally, I use it often enough to keep the spring working, so it's never left compressed for long.
Springs don’t wear from being compressed or not. Springs wear from use. Ask any competent engineer. This topic has already been settled within the mags loaded/unloaded debate. Loaded has no effect on spring longevity. It’s the actual use of the springs that wears them. Leave a gun cocked forever and it won’t do a thing.
Your videos are great! The link is super helpful for getting the accessories. Quick question, how difficult was it to mount the flashlight on the gun? I’m a novice and I’m new to customizing guns
Its not very difficult at all. I changed mounts though - I installed a 5 sided weaver rail on the magazine tube and I attached the flashlight to that using the ring mount from my original setup. I like the position better and it doesn't obstruct the view like my original setup.
@@AMCITADEL - Got the extended mag tube installed. Just an FYI, it will hold 7 - 2-3/4 but only 6 - 3" shells. The description on midway says 7 - 2-3/4 shells. So I wasn't surprised. 6 is still better than 4. I need to get some 2-3/4. heh
@@IAMRUSTEDROOT if you trim the spring a bit you will fit the 3 inch shells. Just trim a little at a time until you can fit the 3s with a little extra room. Also if you are using the big orange follower, ditch it for a smaller one, it takes up too much room.
@@AMCITADEL - I didn't use the big orange follower to begin with, so good there. I also re-used the stock spring. I'll maybe try trimming a little off and see. Thanks!
Don’t think like that, maybe in the old days, expect a fight and be ready to defend yourself and loved ones, pump or semi auto, rack it and expect shots to be fired, if they they practice Runfoo great, but don’t expect it, Cheers🍀
That depends on your situation. Its best to pattern with all your chokes at the distance you will mostly shoot from and see which one gives you the best results. With mine, I use mostly a light modified which is fine for
Would you not be able to load 7 by pressing a round onto the loader through the ejection port like a ghost load? and allowing the bolt to slide over it?
I only cut off the very last 1-2mm, just enough to remove the roll crimp. You could also use a dremmel or a file to remove the crimp. The object is to cut as little off as possible.
Sorry, I misread your question. I cut approximately 2 inches off of the new Spring. The wolf Spring that I have in the description works perfectly without any cutting
after you modified your shotgun does it still perform good or have you had any issues with the modifications just curious because I picked one up not too long ago myself ?
I have not had any major issues, but I have noticed that the heavier charging handle slows the bolt a bit, probably would have even more issues with low power shells. I can't test that yet because I'm all out of low velocity ammo at the moment. On the plus side, the extra weight of the 8 shot mag helps with recoil noticeably.
@@AMCITADEL I was not sure about ordering the citadel especially because I had never heard of it but the price was right and I'm glad you made the vids with the upgrades I'll definitely be extending the tube and adding the handle the original is to small
For that flashlight mount, I was thinking of doing the same thing but am a tad bit nervous about putting it on the barrel. You think it can mess it up?
There's always the possibility of marking up the barrel, that all depends on how careful you are. There are also other flashlight mounts that attach to the magazine tube, I posted a few different kinds in the description.
@@AMCITADEL yeah I tried a mount before from Amazon that basically hugged the barrel but it was all metal and I felt like it was going to dent the barrel lol. I’m not worried about scratches or anything I just don’t want it to blow up on me haha. But again, common sense don’t put it on too tight lol.
You can, but I would personally invest in better chokes - not sure how well those will hold up in the long run. You can use anything lower than Full. Which one you choose depends on the circumstances of the shoot.
Yes, the handle is a drop in. Although it has the retention lug, it does lack the small indent on the side. You can add the indent with a file or a dremmel, takes a few seconds.
Don't you have an 8 round tube? Are you saying that you can't load 8 in the tube on this shotgun, even with an 8 round tube, and have it in cruiser ready? Or when you say 8 shot tube are you really saying 7+1 in the chamber?
I have same gun.....it is on the way back for repair for 2nd time.....fails to fire 2nd shell every time....it loads the 2nd shell....just clicks on trigger pull....IMHO save your money...
@@AMCITADEL the 1st repair was ftf due to light strikes......they replaced the bolt and adjusted head space....now the ftf show no mark on the primers....
@@barbandrob1 That sucks, hopefully they can figure out what is wrong with it. Just to satisfy my curiosity, are the internal components exactly like mine in the video or do you have some different pieces? I'm just tracking issues, trying to see if one version has more issues than the other.
You can do that with alot o semi auto shotguns on the market today like Tristar and a few other Turkish manufactured products

Even the sound of racking a cartridge in would be enough to deter most intruders. :)

I recently bought one and mine has a spring loaded firing pin. The reason most shotguns are not drop safe is cause of a free floating firing pin

I have a video on installing a rear sling loop adapter, but that's it.

There's just about zero chance you will dent the barrel, scratches are your main concern. If you're not concerned about scratches then your all good
If you run out after 7 shots….you throw it down and grab the AR-15 556 with the standard capacity magazine and take care of business.😎🇺🇸
