Leon played pretty much as good as he could have with Bowser, I'm always so impressed by how much of a threat he presents to even very quick characters. His game and watch clearly isn't as optimized, but he had to try something I suppose. Also, I agree with everyone here, that crowd was the worst. They really didn't have to scream ''YEAH'' every single time Leon landed a hit on ESAM, while being dead silent the rest of the time.
I think Leon let that last stock game 1 get to him too much. Shoulda stayed with his main. He was winning going into the last stock. Pika just dies at 50 randomly...pika wins the MU but I don't think that it's undoable for Bowser.

@@MrOfstring spacing is always important but when you can take 20 maybe 30 percent for using something not safe on shield its especially neccessary and I personally dont find it as entertaining compared to say Roy fox matchup or Roy Joker because its just more fast paced and less campy but to each their own. I was in the crowd for this set and Leons set vs Void and it was so hilarious. It was all in good fun and neither of the players were really bothered after. That's just what Leons crowd is like and hes the kind of player who gets amped up off the crowd.

Character comfort is a huge factor too. As we saw in the first game, Pika can die VERY early. Still heavily in Pika’s favour, but that’s not the whole story.

Everyone's getting upset at the crowd for favoring one player over the other. Except that's how fans work. Imagine if we got upset at a Chicago fan for not cheering on a Milwaukee team right after that Milwaukee team beat Chicago. Fans can root for whoever they want and if esam doesn't want to deal with it then he should turn up the volume on his headset
Yeah fans are allowed to favor Leon if he’s their favorite player. But it didn’t make sense for them to start obnoxiously yelling every time Leon used up b. It wasn’t even a pop off it was just then trying to annoy ESAM. Worst part is it was probably annoying to Leon as well.
It’s funny people never bat a eye at Pikachu being good every Smash game, yet Bowser only been good like 2 games lol. They are not used to seeing a heavy be good.

Pikachu and characters like him are cool and hype due to flashy combos and strings that take lots of practice and execution to pull off properly. Heavies that get kills off of 3 separate hits because they do insane damage and have way too good frame data are mostly boring and asinine

It takes skill to get someone as garbage as bowser to top level play like that but Leon should not recieve any sort of praise for playing a character that is universally despised for ruining the fun of the game even more so because there's no way that he's not aware that everyone hates fighting bowser
The fact that you only have one like on your comment after a month clearly shows that most people are not botheted at all by Bowser. When you're competitive you don't care about him because he can get bodied by lots of characters, even though he's got strong options. In a sense he's a punching bag with a gun.
Im not saying people dont like bowser because he's a tournament threat im aware that he's easy to beat thats why theres like one or two decent bowser players rn im saying its not fun to play against. Do you enjoy safespacing aerials the entire match to avoid getting hit twice and going from 20 to 90? Is that something people like to do? Obviously im aware that he sucks. its the same thing with little mac nobody plays him and he's no where near dangerous at the competitive level but its just not enjoyable because you have to spend the entire match camping because his frame data is unbeatable along with the super armour.

But I don't feel the same with bowser, if you don't have a character that straight up destroys him it can be challenging and even entertaining. In the end there are a lots of characters with good out of shield up B and you should always try to space as best as possible.
@@MrOfstring spacing is always important but when you can take 20 maybe 30 percent for using something not safe on shield its especially neccessary and I personally dont find it as entertaining compared to say Roy fox matchup or Roy Joker because its just more fast paced and less campy but to each their own. On a side note I think so long as a character has range or decent edgegaurding bowser isn't too big of a problem

I was in the crowd for this set and Leons set vs Void and it was so hilarious. It was all in good fun and neither of the players were really bothered after. That's just what Leons crowd is like and hes the kind of player who gets amped up off the crowd.

CodedCrash I understand it perfectly, I play DK. No MU is unwinnable and MU favour isn’t everything. He actually had a lead vs ESAM in the first game, I don’t think he had one at all with GnW. Character comfort is a huge factor too. As we saw in the first game, Pika can die VERY early. Still heavily in Pika’s favour, but that’s not the whole story.
