I’m with you all on this don’t have to struggle to keep up or understand brilliant sense of jokingly around feeling like I’m there with them’e I’m 🇬🇧 uk res I think it’s about mid late sixties and I here Bob Dylan has a backin band for me the rest became history and what a story me personally could not understand the booing !.if we don’t change we would still be living in a cave.the wheel’s on fire and it rolled and may it continue your memory
Went from the brown album to the last waltz. skipped everything in between. always the same from the journilists! ffs they dont know anything about the band!
Robbie was a pop star without being a pop star. Robbie was a real star in that he had talent, experience, substance. And being surrounded by drugs and no doubt being places where there was debauchery, Robbie never got involved in that and was a married man, a father and a brilliant role model.
Not quite the case. Robbie did plenty of drugs and wild living. He is very open about it in his book "Testimony", however he never got involved with heroin, as did Richard, Levon and Rick. After he got married he does credit his wife with keeping him grounded.
I'm a huge fan of Robbie's and the Band in general, but Robbie and Rick are my favorites. Robbie was no angel, which he is very open about in his book. He did plenty of drugs, but he stayed away from heroin, and he does credit his wife for keeping him grounded. He explains how he got to a point where they had to get off the road, he was right.
Isabella Mcpherson: Robbie was in harmony and not a lead, or single, singer in the Band, that gig went to Levon, Rick and Richard, Robbie wrote all the songs, some in partnership with Rick or Levon, but Robbie never wrote one song where he heard, or seen, himself as the Lead singer.
Robbie is here to tell it. Levon liked sour grapes--didn't write, but felt ripped off on royalties!!. Rick never denied Robbie's words. Richard was a sad story. Garth had no ill will.
That's what an autobiography is, his perspective. The Band hasn't been around for a long time. I hate when journalists ask questions about the past, then decry that he's living in the past. I think he knows that you can't please everyone. He can only speak for himself and not for his former band mates.
You are making assumptions based on half truth. Read Barney Hoskyns biography of The Band, and Joe Forno Jr's book "Levon's Man. Levan had plenty of faults, one of was blaming someone else for this trouble, and he spend recklessly, didn't handle money well at all, then years later when he has wasted most of his money he blames Robbie.
@@hannejeppesen1809 robbie was a monster, that is a fact. I do not need to read a biography ghost written about a 3rd party. spend, drink etc matters zero. human trash and played basic guitar
What a great book this is. Enjoyed reading it. Robbie is a excellent story teller.
Awesome interview with a true Canadian legend
This is a great reading. I just started it, and he's a good storyteller..!!!! A must read .
What a tremendous storyteller! A real pleasure to listen to.
Robbie did it just as did the four other members of The Band. They all walked the walk. Who would want to diminish what they did together?
I could listen to Robbie all day...great stories
storytelling 101
captivating
Miss you
I'd like to meet this guy someday

What was the game
IT'S about being real , THE LAW OF ATTRACTION ,is in all of U.S.?
I think he's the last surviving band member?
No, Garth Hudson is still alive at 82 years old, keyboardist extraordinaire!
@@brotzmannsax Garth Hudson was also a music teacher for the Band!
@@tpelectric1 I know, he even charged them for lessons when they were picked up by the Hawk.
Garth just played publicly for the first time in years, at 85.
sad
yes...all from RR perspective. did he ever mention RM suicide?
@@kevinjoseph517, it's called an autobiography for a reason.
The REAL Robbie was a HOLYWOOD NARCISSIST! That is where he had 'TIME TO KILL' not CATSKILL ! Behind Big Pink is The Land of Rip Van Winkle...
He has a nice talking voice, but he has an awful singing voice!
