There are less lights on the 2024. The L shaped light was removed from the XLT. You have to get a lariat to get that extra light now. The new grill looks cheap af. Def a step backward
Looked at a STX XL 150 and it had a plastic floor and cost over 50 grand. Ford needs to offer a basic truck well equipped for 50k and I hope the new STX will be it.
Any idea if the Heavy Duty Payload Option is still available and with what trims? It used to be available with XL and XLT, and last year they limited it to XL.
Do you all know, will I be able to get the massaging seats and the heated steering wheel with the 2024 F150 Platinum? I think they may have stopped being available temporarily due to a chip shortage, but not sure if and when available again. I'm not sure if the massaging seats were part of the multi-contour seats and/or the Max recline seats, do you know, and are both those those seat types available in the 2024 model? Apparently there were some other things that haven't been available due to the chip shortage, but I don't know what all those are and/or when they too will become available again, 2024, 2025, ever, maybe you know? Thanks.
What this buyer wants is a 1967 F250 4wd with manual transmission roll up windows a/c and nothing else. Why doesn’t Ford offer that now? I refuse to pay their ridiculous prices for optional I don’t want.
I'm still going to ding the switches above the headunit. The Hazard switch is a big stretch to find, requires you to take your eyes off the road and not instantly or intuitively accessible. You need that especially on interstates when things in front of you go nuts and you want to warn people behind you
Yeah I was all ready to try and play devil's advocate with you but you're right too many buttons up there without any tactile differences to make the hazard button stand out. My '15 has just two buttons up there and each are separate so it's really easy to find and press without taking concentration away.
Problem with the F-150 is that it still looks like just a refresh again & again, now if Ford actually made a truck that doesn't look like the last 7 years with a Mini-me thrown-in with a wee twin sister Maverick. Come on Ford, make a change & get out of the box of the grill at least.
They really need to.. at 50 grand and up, the warranty should go up. My 2021 f150 just had a coil go bad at 39 thousand miles and if I didn't already purchase the extended warranty. I would have had a repair bill already. I still love the truck and it has been great, but that was a little reminder that even newer stuff breaks.
That airstream looked a bit large to be pulled by a F150 with platnium trim. What was the total cargo capacity on that model? Probably not the model to pull that Airstream. Yeah I know, that’s what the Superduty’s are for. Not all of us enjoy driving a Superduty every day. Add a crew cab with a 6.5 bed and you need an airport to turn the thing around in. They are pain in the butt as a daily driver.
Is it possible to order a F-150 with radio/info screen delete????? And pretty much a basic truck like the old days???? Mats, not carpet etc??? Just wondering?????
Overall, good job to Tim & Jill. Well done considering the craziness of that location. Ford failed there; the lighting was terrible, space too small and noisy. I like the refresh overall. Ford made some good changes for the better and set themselves up for the all-new version. Highlights: options, lots of them. Screens for everyone, smart. That'll be less confusing. Only downer? Watching the sad chief engineer struggle so hard to make the tailgate seem unique relative to Rams. Groceries? Really? One other note: thank Jill for really showing us just how damn stupid tall their beds are. My god, the tailgate was above her head! Unnecessary...
I’m definitely not getting rid of my 21 Raptor any time soon. For most option I have now, I would have to get a 37 package for an additional 10k. Not worth the HUD, refreshed front end and tail lights.

No dual exhaust on the Platinum 702 High package which is the new Dark Appearance package. Come on Ford what a dick move, I just ordered this truck for $110,000.00 Canadian and the dealer said it has a "dark chrome" side tip..... They suggested I order a lesser trim to get the dual exhaust. Great videos Tim thanks for all the work you put into them.
I'm a Ford guy & wouldn't buy anything but a Gord truck. That being said, there are things that Ford needs to address going forward. #1 being the styling of the truck. All the F150s from the last 10 years look very similar. It's time for a major redesign. I mean a completely new look. The available colors for the 2024 are very limiter. What happened to Area 51? It's gone! Too many drab colors. We need, gotta have it green. How about some cool new reds, some neon colors, come on Ford. Also, wheels, why not offer more wheel choices? The F150 needs 20" wheels to look right. Offer more 22" choices across the board. I had my 2021 leveled and bigger tires & rims installed. Looks fantastic.
They really missed on the Tremor headlights not being the same as the raptor/platinum ones. I know it's supposed to be more 'rugged' but for that kind of cash, reflector headlights is extremely insulting. Don't really like the unibrow look it gives.
Had a chevy with fancy tailgate and now an F150 with tail gate step. Too hard to take either one off. Prefer a simple easy to remove tailgate and no blocks between frame and axles so that truck is lower to ground and accessible like the old days. Beds are too high and sides too high. I don't want to pole vault in to load the truck. Guess these are for show or off road but not work.
@@cwqrpportable You ever been in a Japanese vehicle? The quality difference, to this day, remains quite noticeable...panel gaps, material integrity, and tolerances . My American made Camry was leaps and bounds better in quality than the equivalent Fusion or Malibu I've ridden in.

So can you get an XLT with the column shifter & not the console shifter? I know the sport package came with the console shifter in the previous trucks. I would rather have a column shifter.
It looks like 302a & 303a package you have to get the console shifter. Bummer. I want to power back glass & the upgraded sound system. Not a fan of the console shifter. Takes up too much room for storage.
Unfortunately no, that’s one of my biggest gripes about the Powerboost as a road trip vehicle. It’s highway mileage is no better, if not worse than the regular 3.5 and even the 5.0, and then subtract 5.4 gallons from that and you’ve lost over 100 miles of range. Granted it’s still a lot better than what Chevy offer. Heck at least make it over 32 gallons like the Toyota.
@@cwqrpportable every mpg loop I’ve seen on RUclips, and ever owner on the forums either got the same if not less mpg than the non-hybrid, going at real world interstate speeds-none of that putting along at 60 mph BS.
Why is it dumb? What exactly is wrong with the idea of being able to stand closer to the bed and reach in to grab stuff that would normally require you to hop up and sit on the tailgate, especially if you have nicer clothes on?
I had a F150 and an Airstream and I was able to lower the tailgate just fine without hitting the trailer jack or hitting anything at all. Developing a tailgate just to guarantee you swing it into the trailer jack is just stupid (because when the typical American sized person tries to squeeze in, that 37 degree angle will not be enough and you will scratch the tailgate at a minimum). You can fix all of these worries and save money on buying a gimmick tailgate by buying a better hitch! A Weigh-Safe Hitch for example, gives you the room you need to lower your tailgate without hitting anything.
What a disappointment...I have a 2021 Ford F150 Powerboost (hybrid) which I really like.. Almost 3 years down the line I shaved my legs for this milk toast refresh? A tailgate and heads up display? They spent 60% of the presentation on the on-board generator (as if it was big news...) They could've done this presentation three years ago when I bought my Powerboost...What about a stronger more capable hybrid? What about a plug in hybrid that equipped owners with the ability to drive during the week electric only while preserving towing capability with no range anxiety? They could've transformed the economics of Pick up ownership. Listening to customers???? Sounds like Ford should stick with building electric vehicles that cost them $70k for every version they sell....
Right now, you can't even option a powerboost with trailer tow mirrors on the website. It makes you pick an ICE only option as a requirement. I'm wondering if there will be a downgrade on tow capacities or real world payload on the powerboost. Otherwise why would you have an 11k-12.7klbs tow rating on a truck you can't option with tow mirrors

That tailgate is fords idea of taking something thats not broken and trying to fix it. Nobody practical wants these fancy tailgates. How do these huge screens perform in -40?
Know how someone is trying to sell you on stuff you don’t need. The guy was basically pausing to remember his memorized statements. About a bunch of crap they added because the list of new ideas is running short. What the heck just add more crap to make it more expensive. And to even have a backup mode is still ridiculous, if you can’t maneuver a trailer you shouldn’t be given a dial. Know what I want on a tailgate…a tailgate handle. If I was in the market there’s no way I’d buy a model with a durn button. The one thing that hat you said they did right….LED standard headlights. Um duh how was this hard manufacturers.
The average person cannot afford one of these trucks. Shame on Ford for being greedy. Make pick up trucks for people who are going to use them for their intended purpose. We don’t need luxury, we need to basic function and affordability!
Get ready for the crash of the automotive industry. These new trucks are pretty and fancy, but, combined with interest rates, their cost is now beyond what probably 70% of potential truck buyers can afford. It's going to look like the Great Depression, when carmakers manufactured some beautiful and innovative cars, but hardly anyone could afford them. I predict that at least one of the Big Three will be bankrupt in the next 2-3 years--the only question is which one(s).

My 2022 Lightning has the exact same collapsible bin. You missed the best part - the seat bottoms can lock in place making the box somewhat secure. Great place for a rifle....

that tailgate step under the bumper is an accessory. Technically, the tailgate step is gone from the F150.

Heavy duty payload will not be an option on any F150 in 2024.

I am so glad that I bought the 2023 F-150 Tremor now that I have seen the 2024s. I would like the modular front bumper, but that's it.

So when you open the new tailgate in 'flat' mode to load say a motorcycle or SxS, what is the rated weight capacity that the center section can bear?

I don't believe ford ever did that. They focused on turbo motors while ram and gm went the deactivation route.

Know what I want on a tailgate…a tailgate handle. If I was in the market there’s no way I’d buy a model with a durn button. The one thing that hat you said they did right….LED standard headlights. Um duh how was this hard manufacturers.

The average person cannot afford one of these trucks. Shame on Ford for being greedy. Make pick up trucks for people who are going to use them for their intended purpose. We don’t need luxury, we need to basic function and affordability!

These new trucks are pretty and fancy, but, combined with interest rates, their cost is now beyond what probably 70% of potential truck buyers can afford. It's going to look like the Great Depression, when carmakers manufactured some beautiful and innovative cars, but hardly anyone could afford them. I predict that at least one of the Big Three will be bankrupt in the next 2-3 years--the only question is which one(s).
Then the government will just bail them out.

My 2022 Lightning has the exact same collapsible bin. You missed the best part - the seat bottoms can lock in place making the box somewhat secure. Great place for a rifle....
