The weird night time at day 3 was actually an eclipse. It is an intended feature in the game and it happens every now and then. The reason it got bright and then dark after that was because the eclipse was over and then after a while the real night came up.
Skyes, I love this game and am so glad you started it.
Bit of tips... Until you get vehicles and a base going, you can use your seaglide as a flashlight.
You can also find blueprints for more useful tools that open up areas. I won't spoil too much, but you'll want to set yourself up to find a few major things: a laser cutter, a repulsion cannon, and a seamoth.
Beacons are vital as the map itself is very confusing. You can turn off/on beacons and pods you've discovered from your pda. You can use a beacon to mark your bases, biomes where you find certain materials, and places you need to return to to explore pieces of the aurora that have blueprints you can't access without the cutter/repulsor cannon.
Also you can build the tubes for a base to start loot hoarding. This game encourages it, as you'll eventually be upgrading and need a lot of materials for the story, bases, and vehicles. Trust me, it starts out slow, but eventually you'll need a lot of storage space. On a few different bases and on your mobile base... The portable lockers are horrible for storage btw, and become useless compared to base storage options.
To start your base, start with a foundation, a tube, a door, a solar panel, and you have a basic shelter. From there you can expand and build up!
There is a story involved, a few actually that all coincide together, but you'll want to get to the aurora first... From there investigate the signals given on your radio. At the other life pods, you'll find a pda entry, which you can read/listen to to hear more story, and more things to scan or a blueprint... It varies, but def look around a lot and check the pda entries often.

@@Theory18 didn't want to spoil too much. There's also beds and furniture which personally I love scanning and adding to my base. I love having a base which is s nice escape from the game as well as functional for storing loot and recharging batts/making water. Functionality by the front door, a scanner room/aquarium off to the sides, with a ladder dividing the base where I keep a bedroom and observatory above water going to check out the aurora.
BUILDING A BASE: no need for main base piece. Just build a T or cross-shaped one, hatch and solar pannels.
This is going to be so good! My husband and I were talking a while back about how we'd love to see this.
A feature in this game that made me fall in love with it is that after you fix your esxape pod you can find it still.bobbing around and it actually moves. I doesn't just stay in place it moves with the waves etc cause its floating and thats when i knew this game has some attention to detail that make it even more Immersive

The part where it was dark for a few seconds on day 3 was because of an eclipse which is a natural occurrence on the planet in Subnautica. Also, you can pin the recipes to the top right corner of your screen, it comes in handy when you have to get materials and you can have multiple pins at once so you are able to get more done.
The egg when hatched gives you a friend you can pet 👀
Doing missions takes you places that has more things for you scan which means.more things unlocked.

For a tip for this game, is that the missions help you unlock stuff, also you can build your base with the tubes that you already have

A way to find silver and some diamond is near the crashed ship, that’s where you get a lot of it, you can tell by the different rocks
you can build a base with the habitat builder. The first building part in the top left was a foundation piece.

Hey Skews, you really should do a little mod just to where it will at least when you craft, will automatically pull the ingredients from your storages so u don’t waste time having to search (u aren’t the best at organization to be honest) 😅
Also, u can find sea moth stuff and the stasis rifle stuff at these coords

I highly recommend using the nexus/vortex launcher as a way to mod subnautica just need to keep in mind mod updates.
You may have not noticed but there is a little bit of swimming that takes place in Subnautica.
I started playing subnautica last week and play for 16 hours and watched like 20 hours worth of gameplay of markiplier and some others literally a peak game
This is gonna be great !
Do the missions they help with getting a lot of the habitat stuff and mostly the travel just helps to get other vehicles fragments
After you get a seamount try to explore the big ship that exploded but make sure to use the radiation suite last I believe it has a lot of cyclops’s fragments
Can everyone let Skyes know about the other player Capsules he can find randomly that can have weapons or rare materials in them that can help him !!!!

@@Dragons67786 to be fair i have not beaten the game but i have gotten close to i have about 40 hours on the game mainly from just forgetting to pause it and my house going up i would have about 30 hours on the game if i did't keep forgetting to pause it. plus i won't tell him what scary stuff could be there i will just tell him where to find stuff and how to find stuff.
