Man, John Tardy still sounds so fucking EPIC, loud and well pronounced with his growls - even in his 50s! Seriously an all-time great in the death metal vocal pantheon.
I couldn't get into his vocals when I first heard Obituary, sometime during the early 1990's. I did like other death metal bands, but I didn't listen to Obituary for almost 25 years and only "rediscovered" them a few years ago. And I'm glad I did, as I can now appreciate John's vocal style a lot and I think they fit Obituary's music very well. And he's also a very nice guy, as I've had the pleasure of meeting him 😁

This was my favourite gig on Brutal Assault 26. Never been a big Obituary fan before, but i am now for sure.
