  • SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Two Syracuse firefighters were awarded the Medal of Honor -- the highest honor bestowed -- by the Syracuse Fire Department Monday for their life-saving actions at a housefire last September.
    The Syracuse Fire Department held its annual Awards and Promotion Ceremony Monday at the National Veterans Resource Center at Syracuse University.
    Firefighters Kyle Wilmer and Paul Lukacs were awarded the Medal of Honor for saving a man’s life who was trapped in a house fire on Lilac Street last September.
