⚠️ WARNING ⚠️: massive wall of text brought to you by my autistic thoughtsbelow tl:dr is that chance comes off as a toxic player with a big ego who can never lose unless the match was unfair, if you want to know why I feel this way keep reading
edit( should have also mentioned this is not a personal attack on Chance and these are just my opinions and you shouldn’t feel like you should stop liking Chance, my brain just said write and I obliged)
I’ve had these thoughts in my head about chance for a long time about now, and I need to stop letting my introverted self talk down my thoughts. Chance crosses the line of being a rage streamer to being more of a toxic one. First off, he can never lose a fair fight, it’s always “is was cause of the lag”, “the character is busted” (which is golden coming from someone who mains Finn, a top tier), “I just gave them a stock” or “ ____ move is busted”. Know I could look past that if it weren’t for the fact that he will trash on almost everybody he plays against and finds the most dumbest excuse that half the time apply to himself. Playing a bad character? You’re trash. Playing a good character? You only play them to win. Have a high level? You have no life. You lose to him by just a thread? Then you’re also trash. What I’m trying to say is that he we find the smallest reason to dunk on your person and not your skill. For instance, I’m not sure which rage compilation it was in, I want to Say somewhere in the 20s, but he went up against someone who placed 7th in EVO. Instead on doing the reasonable thing of admiring how the good the player is or the fact that he’s going up against a top 8 player in EVO( both not necessarily required), Chance starts trash talking saying how “8th place doesn’t mean anything” and how “if he was in evo that player would have placed way lower. Like bro, first off, that was uncalled for and really a dick move on your part, second if you didn’t have anything positive to say then shut your dang mouth, especially before the match has even started. Second, I hate to admit it but Chance just has a big ego, not to say that having any ego is a bad thing, but the level at which chance has it is just annoying at best and unsympathetically arrogant at worst. In my opinion it okay to tell yourself that you’re great at a character cause sometimes you just need some self motivation, but they Chance claims that he’s the “number 1 Finn” not just to himself, but to his entire chat and mod team just screams I’m an egotistical person. Not to mention that if he beats someone, he thinks that it makes him a better player than them. Think of the best fighting player you know of, you have them in your mind, well it’s almost guaranteed that they have lost a game or two, same applies to the top multi versus thatChance acts like beating someone on one occasion makes him better but not the other way around. he comes off as hypocritical as he’s been fairly beat on several times but according to his words “ their playing a busted character” or “tHe LaG DUrIng THaT MaTch WAs so BaD”, so the loss doesn’t count. Speaking of losses not counting, anyone that doesn’t rematch is a “pussy”, which is a very stupid and fails to ignore the multitude of reasons why someone won’t rematch, like maybe it’s midnight and they need to go to work tomorrow, maybe they need to go to an appointments or maybe a family member or loved one called and need something. I get that declining a rematch is annoying because it most certainly can be, but using that as an excuse to dunk on that person more is just stupid, and it isn’t helped by how he says it every single time someone doesn’t rematch. Now it’s finally time to talk about his gameplay and how he treats others in-game. First off, whenever he K.Os someone, it’s always the teabag, crying emote, or both, which comes of in a way I can’t really describe, but it definitely comes off as toxic in a way, also whenever he wins, there is never a gg or something like that, which is even more apparent when was was going up against a star child Jake who was in chat when he said after getting two stocked something along the lines of “ when I two stock you and you lose, you better say gg, but when he lost the set, getting two stocked in both of his losses, guess what he said, specifically what he didn’t. If you answered “gg” then YOU ARE CORRECT. This example more so falls under him being a hypocrite than how Chance treats other players but it still fits. Although not as egregious as other acts, he doesn’t toast anyone whether if he wins or loses or even if they toast him.
That’s pretty much all that I have the energy to type for now. Reply how wrong and stupid I am if it really matters that much to you, but I really needed somewhere to put these thoughts
