    Those F59s have been sold to STPX, the San Luis Potosí shops in Mexico. They’re getting rebuilt for passenger service down there, maybe under the FIT.

    Gonna miss the good old F59PHI locomotives from Metrolink. They've always had the great sounding Nathan P2 horns, which sounded even better together with the roof-mounted Nathan K5LA horn, which is music to my ears. Now all that's heard on Metrolink's current locomotive fleet are the Nathan K2 horns on the F125 locomotives and the Nathan P2 horns on the MP36PH-3C and F59PHR locomotives, along with the Graham White electronic train bells equipped. Also gonna miss the sound of the EMD steel train bells on the F59PHI locomotives of Metrolink too. Well, these locomotives are gonna start a new life in Mexico.

    The PHI's were meh, they always had weird problems, like the blended brake magically not working at precisely the time you NEED THEM TO WORK. The MPI's are a little better. The F125's are um, well EMD sucks at making locomotives and we were still dropping napalm on the Ho Chi Minh trail the last time they built a GOOD locomotive. The Chargers are good if you can take care of them. Dash8's take 15 minutes to get up to trackspeed but, honestly, they aren't that bad. And the P42's are, well they still run. Sometimes the brakes go into backup mode and stop working right, but you know, just throw it into emergency and recover. You'll be fine.

    • @thelastdefenderofcamelot5623
      @thelastdefenderofcamelot5623 2 месяца назад +1

      Siemen being German is an obvious European German style design. I get what you mean with those blocky North American style diesel trains that are meant to pull heavy cargo hundreds and hundreds of kilometres. Same reason why Americans like to own 4x4's. Their only drawback is the lack of speed which is probably why they selected Siemens to do the job. I do agree the Siemens frame looked like it's stamped out of a machine by robots and assembled together compared to how it is traditionally done.
