Monique is a prime example of know your worth and don't let nobody tell you otherwise. She's elegant and full of class, and quite frankly she didn't even need to come on the breakfast club and talk about her worth or "justifying" why she values herself in that regard as Charlemagne kept asking. But I'm glad she did, as she gave us all an example of what bravery looks like

And they just refuse to say they wrong. See honey these folk that have some jobs are not gonna say anything against these ppl. They gonna fight for them until their last breath. They just dog us & talk about us. They telling them what happ÷n * they still trying to justify for the white folk. GOD gonna step in. I believe that. Now when all those that's not afraid keep stepping up & bring th down then all the nah sayers gonna jump on then. Somebody else knock them out, then all the chickens run and wanna say they was in the fight too. We got some sad, sad ppl to call our own. Make u shame to say they your ppl.

Leornard or Leeenard however u pronounce this idiots' name, continues to do a great disservice to journalism, is clueless about the actual issue at hand arguing for the sake of winning & not being man enough to accept he was wrong to apologize to Mo' & so he typically runs away to the next question like all he's seeking is non-existent gossip or arguments off the top of his head with no due diligence done like an actual journalist would. Mo', we heard u loud & clear; my Mama raised me right & I saw what she had to go through here in an African community as her 1st son. We love u. Len-whatever gave u a fake hug to try to disarm u or throw the audience off guard & he has no clue he's in a position to influence opinions, it comes with responsibility, he just on gossip radio let's call it what it is, arguing like a bitch. To those who see it, he's only made us stronger & sad for him & others like him.

From a numbers standpoint justify why you should get what the “legends” are getting? The word legend is as about as weak as having a Oscar nowadays because it doesn’t sell tickets. I agree with her that their is a financial disparity with women of color. No one disputes that, but we’re talking about Mo’nique and not the color of her skin. She’s trying to make a racial case for why she was offered so little and not a bankability case.

In this interview, that I’m not even sure you watched or else you wouldn’t have commented, Charla said “this is a what have you done for me LATELY business. What has Eddie done for us lately? I love Eddie and you better believe I’m watching this special. I just want people to understand that Moniques stance is valid and thousands of black women face the same discrimination daily. This is hypocrisy. That’s all.

They don’t want to negotiate money, fine then negotiate outside of that. When Coachella lowballed Beyoncé, her team negotiated for her to own rights to the videos of the performance and she sold it to Netflix for 60 million dollars. All that Leonard had to do is apologize for calling Mo’Nique the donkey of the day but his pride would not let him. As liberal as the entertainment industry is, there is a tremendous amount of inequality when it comes to salaries. And unfortunately Black women get paid the least. I admire Mo’Nique for standing up for herself. Leonard is gonna eat his words one day.

Mo'Nique's husband nailed it when he said, "If it is an individual problem, when it comes to Black female comedians, it's: 'What have you done lately? And, when it comes to white female comedians, it's...'"
And, Mo'Nique is right that when it comes to people who look like us that we are our worst persecutor when it comes to defending our own in race-biased claims.
That's because we have been racially socialized to believe that we will never be as good as, or better than, our white counterpart, and that, therefore, are not worthy of equal pay. Mo'Nique is most definitely right.
Bottom line, all of us are not consciously aware, and this is only one of the unconscious manifestations of believing that those among us who are considered top talent by masses are still not worthy of competitive pay with their white counterpart - and that's why some believe that the Black talent must make her perspective, "make sense." Wake up, Leonard, or Lenard.

Example we meet each other a grim one another as if we hate or dislike the look of each other but we're on our best behavior with strangers of another race...we must treat each other much better as brothers and sisters. What Lenard is doing is dismissing Mo'Nique's history, her foundation as he was instructed to do. If you notice in the interview, everything she pulls up receipts back by a justifiable point, he ignores it and keeps going back to "today's numbers" against Amy Schumer, etc... . He keeps saying she is weaponizing black female colorism. Just like Mo'Nique and her husband said, people say what they do because they are scared not to and will face consequences if they go against the "bosses narrative". Lenard, just like Angela Yee, is bought and paid for. He is given instructions on how to speak, what to say, how to act by his handlers. As instructed he is to tear down, destroy and divide the afro-indigenous community. Guaranteed if he goes against his handlers, as quick as you put your hand up, his career is done.
I applaud, have always stood by, Mo'Nique. Completely agree with everything she has said. She stood in fire and took the beatings so Taraji and 'em could run with the same narrative now.

Charlie Thompson ok. So if it’s only about being salable, why did they offered Wanda Sykes only 250k? And white people LOVE Wanda Sykes. It’s more to be said than it it just being salable. Those are really disrespectful numbers to ppl who already have a certain lifestyle to maintain. And I understand Monique not being salable anymore but let’s dig in more to that. Why all of a sudden she’s hard to work with after all the projects she’s had. Now after being blackballed, she emerges to speak on her plight and everybody says she difficult. Idk. Her story just resonates with me on a deeper level. I’m a black woman who’s had a corporate job, and I had to work my butt off but you want to know who was promoted and got the best raises and who didn’t even perform their job as half as great as I did? Yep you guessed it, my fellow white women colleagues. & I already know the men are paid a lot better. So at the end of the day, I feel her struggle. We live in this shitty system also even if the pay I received is a lot less than 500k.

Oz yes we have been programmed. Programmed to accept the things that we know in our heart will not suffice. We work hard and still don’t get compensated for the jobs we perform at a high level. I agree the boycott may be a littler reach after you have explained the marketing side of it, but she still has a right to feel played, and I feel played for her. So she taking a stand and I’m standing with her. I don’t even work at my job anymore for the same reason. I’m figuring out this self employment situation on my own because I know as long as I️m on somebody’s else’s clock, they are going to give me what they feel I am worth. And let’s be honest, my worth to them sure isn’t a lot. I won’t take it. I know the struggle

According to Google Monique's current net worth is an estimated $13,000,000.00 now that doesn’t seem like a lot compared to say Oprah or Jay Z but it’s still way more than 99% of America and you don’t make that kind of money being a fool. I must admit that like many others I had my doubts at first but she knows how to negotiate and she refuses to let anyone take advantage of her talent, so we can’t knock this sister down for standing up for what’s obvious. The truth is most Americans aren’t used to a black woman having a bold voice to take on the big companies like Netflix. I have to respect her and give her that much.

She isn’t entitled to anyone else’s money. No one is. If you’re offering your services or talents to someone and they low ball you, you either negotiate (which her husband admitted they didn’t give Netflix a counteroffer) or you move on. She’s done more campaigning for this Netflix boycott than she did for Precious. I’m a freelance writer. I get great offers and shitty offers. What she’s doing isn’t helping her bag. Just providing Lee Daniel’s point.

Unlike Oprah and Jay Z who have real talent this ogre needs to learn her place which is the bottom of my shoe because of how stupid she sounds. She should learn to just stick to comedy because some of the things she's saying isn't making anyone smile. I'm so glad she got destroyed in this interview, you could really tell the saltiness in her behavior. Now that was the real joke.

Vanessa The Saint if I can make half a million on my own in a year... I’m not about to not work for two years for 2million. It’s not equal.
