Something horrible happened in my life recently. It's been oppressively sunny, hot, and humid in my area, and it's only making it worse. The sun brings me tears. A storm would do me wonders. Storms have always given me life; the vibrance and energy and vivacity a storm brings one.
this doesn't CAUSE depression, but it can be a good reflection of it when compared against a sunny day. assuming "happy" = "sunny" means you naturally assume "sad" = "cloudy"
+1. A very different feeling. Especially the autumn months allow me to have different meanings and feelings. It's like we love the dark..

I only ever saw the sky this black once. we were sailing in middle of Lake Champlain in summer 1983, turned our heads north and this THING was coming. Fortunately we knew the lake and raced toward an enclosed gut in time. Many boats were damaged or turned over.
Last time I saw the sky this dark it was because of high winds and it was a derecho like you describe!!!
To remember such memories after over 40 years, it must have been a terrible feeling.
Must've been hell of a storm. I remember seeing the horizon go black before Katrina. It was dead quiet. Then the wind started up. I was 5 then, so I never understood just how horrible that storm really was. I just remember being in awe of the raw power. The eye even passed over us. I don't think I'll ever hear that silence ever again.

how long it lasted, Im asking because I love thunderstorm but im afraid of thunder sound so Im asking if the thunderclap was loud an happened for like 2h or more or it was like 15 min of huge thunder then just calm rain

Oh man, I was happy to see the dark clouds in the middle of the day when I was a child. It was always the perfect weather to play games. A softly dense air, looks like evenings but there's still a full day to enjoy ahead. I still have the same excitement...

I've seen really dark clouds in my area, (one of which was really recent and had the hugest hail I ever seen, had to get a windshield replaced because of it) but I have never seen one this black, that right there is a 1 of a kind storm for sure and one of the most beautiful I have seen. Nature is awesome

I've only see something like this it was in 2 Chad's of darkness this was back in 95 Kansas It was a Tornado and we where walking down the street ill never forget that day !!!!!

I remember when I was in highschool 2013 the weather got like this when it was almost time to get out of school but the school made us stay in school cuz it was raining hard it started to get dark outside......... Man I was mad when I didn't get to experience that weather

We have these in the summer in the midwest. Some storm cells can produce winds as strong as a tornado. Beautiful yet deadly.
