Hi David, congratulations. It's been 30 months for me and no go on the walking, the spasticity throughout my body will not allow me. How was your journey, surgeries, baclofen pump, what was or were the key points in your recovery? God bless my friend
One of the frustrating thing’s about losing mobility after a stroke is that you spend more time sitting or lying in bed. This causes the double whammy of weight gain and also muscle deterioration making it all the more difficult to find the energy to do any physical activity. It’s a long and painful uphill battle to regaining mobility and, as a survivor of a stroke, I feel this man’s pain every step of the way.
@@lasvegas0711 It certainly does make you reassess your life and reminds you how important family is. I don’t sweat the small stuff anymore and feel much better for that. I have accepted my new situation and appreciate every new day.
@@makisu77 so happy for your brother, my sister is actually walking now Ofcourse with help from her walker. Her left foot drags a bit but the improvement is amazing. We are so happy l.
@@cindyds10 My step father has the same issue but also has Alzheimer’s and is 83 yrs old. It’s been 3 weeks since operation. He does pretty well at taking steps one day then regresses to being unable to move his legs altogether. The funny thing is that he has no issue pedaling on the pedal stand I got for him. He can sit and pedal for a long time but no progress in terms of walking. I was concerned on the length of his rehabilitation and I’m not sure how much time I should dedicate to the Inevitable. 6 yrs is a long time. Has your sister progressed in these past 7 months.
@@nejolo9563 she is able to walk a little with the walker but very minimal. She has fallen several times. She’s still very sick. The medication is not working her lupus is out of control. She can pedal too I got her that pedal device. And I feel the same as you we don’t know how much more time they have 😞
Why did they have him using a hemi walker? My legs and core are much stronger than his were at that point and using a hemi walker is a rough, frustrating ordeal for me. My therapist laughs because I call it the device from hell.
