Absolutely love a hot towel shave - turns a chore into something I look forward to doing. The Muhle towels are soft, absorbent and hold the heat well.

In my teens and for some time after, memory fails me, I used a safety DE razor and then at some point switched to cartridge use. Given my age now and white facial hair I really don't need to shave every day but I found that the cartridge blades were clogging up and I was ending up with a lot of red skin. I switched back to safety razor shaving recently and welcome the availability of excellent advice like yours. I have a question....is there a benefit or disadvantage in flipping a blade after each shave?

We are delighted that you have returned to the classic shave. A quick answer to your question: The blades are sharpened so that they always work, no matter how you insert them. In any case, it makes sense to use both sides of the razor head when shaving. However, we are not aware that reversing the blade significantly extends its service life.
