That's what I miss are record changers. I'm too lazy to want a manual turntable where ya have to change records all the time. Just relax and listen to the music, that's me. Changer looks like it's functioning like new. Take care, Gary
I miss them, too. Wifey and I do something a little different for Christmas, now that the kids are grown and out. I buy my gift, and she buys hers. We each wrap the gift we bought for ourselves. On Christmas morning, I open my gift, and Wifey is surprised by what she bought me! Same with her gift. It's really fun. I get something I really want, and the element of surprise is still there.

V-M licensed its record changer technology to Telefunken, which probably made this under the Grundig name.
I have one almost like it. Motor not turning (turns by hand) looks like 120v in both coils. Am I right that the motor should run along as it has power.

Hi there! I'm restoring my own Grundig record changer, and the reject function isn't working properly. Once the record has come to the end, the arm will return to the rest but the plate will continue spinning and the arm will move back onto the record; as if another record has dropped down. Would love to get some advice!
I just got my Grundig GW 11 turntable back from a “restorer” and the plater makes a grinding noise when turning and the tone arm keeps searching for the right record size 33 to 45 back and forth and then keeps going back and forth from the 45 position to the cancel position. Please help. 🙏🏻

I have the same turntable in my Grudig. Hasn't worked in over 25 years and its breaking my heart because I grew up with this Majestic console. I think it needs a new needle cartridge. Do you know where I can get one?
OMG, I have a Grundig Majestic too and the record player doesn’t work. I think mine is about a 1958 and it belonged to my father.
As part of my TV & Radio repair business 30 to 40 years ago, I owned a turntable repair "jig". It was all metal with fully adjustable arms and clamps (with rubber pads). It came in very handy. I found a picture of one here: www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/phonograph-turntable-repair-stand-154881594

Michael - My wife just surprised me with G-M SO 121 PX. Radio works great, but I'm getting no sound from the turntable - it spins just fine and clearly the arm needs to be weighted a bit per your video. Question: On the back panel is a sticker that says Phono In is on top of chassis. Where is the heck can I find that in without taking the whole chassis out? Any hints? Thanks!

The best idea I have for finding one is to keep an eye on eBay. I occasionally run across Phillips and Grundig record changers. When you see one, snap it up. They are pretty easy to work on. How do you plug this cartridge to a receiver? Do you need to match the impedance?
i have a little issue trying to conect one telekunfen turntable very much like that grounding to another radio reiciver. could you tellme how did you adapted the 3 pin turntable conector in to the radio. ( mine have a screw for neutral in the back and two terminals holes)

I inherited my grandmother's SO 190 Ua/ Ua1 stereo console. The radio and record changer are still inside. I want to get it working. The radio I don't care too much about, but I really want the record changer operational. What will happen if I plug it into the wall outlet in my house? I am not sure if any part works currently. I have the original paperwork, but it is in German so it's no help.
Hello, Michelle. I apologize for being a little bit slow in responding these days. It is a temporary condition and I hope to go back to fast replies in the next few months.
It should be possible to apply line power (from a wall outlet) to your record player's power leads. When you select "phono" on the receiver, it directs line power to those leads through the switch. That will enable you to see if the record player will turn, if it will play on all speeds, and if the reject functions still work. My best guess is that the motor will turn, but that the platter will not, due to a hardened and deformed idler wheel. This is a replaceable part, so no worries. You won't be able to test whether it makes sound this way, because you need to pipe it through the amplifier in the radio section of the console.
I will assume that the console has not played in some time. There are components inside the amplifier and radio that degrade over time, whether they are used or not. Like tires on an old car, those components degrade much more gradually if the radio is used regularly. "Let it sit, and it will get used to sitting and never want to move again", is what my Grandfather used to say. This degradation usually leads to the radio not working at some point. Since your record player is amplified by the receiver/amplifier, I would hook everything together and plug the console into a Variac and bring up the voltage slowly. If there is a sudden increase in current as the voltage is increased, then stop everything and service the amplifier chassis. I would at least have the electyrolytic power supply capacitors replaced. And the truth is, if you have to go that far, you might as well replace the other capacitors, too. I have never found that the resistors in the German sets are failure prone. You'd just need to do the capacitors. If you are not into electronics, I would have someone who knows tube gear do this for you.
No matter what you decide to do, just about any electronic part in your console is replaceable by someone who knows what they are doing. Feel free to ask if you get stuck. German sets are challenging, but they sound awesome when they are right.

ThatTubeSound would it be possible for me to take some pics of what I am working with so you can possibly guide me in testing/repairing? I am confident that I can do the repairs myself (I can fix just about anything with the proper information). The original paperwork does include what looks like a circuit/fuse/tube map of some sort, only being that it is in German. I can tell you that I am 31yrs old and have never heard this radio turned on. But it was always a favorite thing of my grandmother's, so it would be worth it to me to have it working. I live in Georgia, you don't happen to know anyone in my area who repairs these do you? Thank you for your help!
You can use your smartphone and google translate to figure out the manual. Id try firing it up on a variac at first to try and reform the capacitors. It works sometimes and sometimes it does not.

The word "Stereo" is inappropriate when put on a turntable itself(as shown at front-left of this turntable). The ONLY element of a turntable is the pick-up cartridge itself which determines whether a stereo record will be played as intended. The stylus is neutral, as is the turntable.
