- Chloe Kohanski, who recently changed her name to ‘chloe mk’, always wanted to be a singer but after graduation, she decided to go to college to be an English teacher. Soon after, she realized that wasn't for her, so she quit school and started playing in a blues band. After the band stopped playing together, she decided to try her luck at the Blind Auditions. Those are all so good..Nice slip up on Roy Orbison's, but forgiven. Blake was so right about her maybe even little surprised how well she handled things. That type of voice is so very rare nowdays and can sing so well. Actually i might be on same page with Blake on this one on that Bonnie Tyler - Total Eclipse of the Heart. That felt like she made it her own.

Often I am bewildered why Stars such as Mylie, Stevie, Cher, Willie, the list goes on, don't create new stars by creating duets, like Elton has. Dua Lipa, Eminem, Sara Bareilles, DJ's - ok that's a long bow drawn, but do you get what I mean? Stars and their apprentices are brilliance in entertainment!
I don't agree at all . She needs more dramatic songs .But that is the problem with the voice . Those coaches .Why was again the audition the best performance she gave ,Her voice has that mysterious " thing" that give it drama . Hé gives her Wicked Game , and the Light Blondie classic Call me . I would give her more Fleetwood Mac , Marianne Faithfull or Elvis Costello .Or even a soul ballad , but not all this sugar sweet stuff .Her voice is not sugar . I hear cigarettes and Whiskey .So in the finale I would have given her Amy Winehouse and I am sure it would have been the best performance on the Voice America .And if you wanna hear how it should have sounded .Listen to Creep from two 14 year old Girls: Pipp(y?.)and Josephine on The German Voice . Forever on my playlist .

Again " the Chain " waste only song fit for her great , great voice .And that is some compliment .Let's be honest , Debbie Harry has a jumpy happy voice that is perfect for Blondie songs .And Chris Isaac and Roy the big O Orbison are higher voices , while Chloe does better in darker , mooier songs .And from a country mogol like our friend I expected much better choices .But those clapper castleden probably hadn't heard it anyway .They hear one yelp and start screaming their heads off . Songs are really great as soon as it gets silent in the room . Then you know there's magic .If I could give an advice to future competitors .Choose a song that starts softly and builds up to a climax and if they do that right , maybe we'll be finally able to hear the songs in full .
@@ivanbottos7306 - I hear you. I felt the song choice given to her on the Voice was 'playing it safe'. I sense in her voice a female version of Tom Waits. He was all whisky not sugar. I do wish artists (contestants) were allowed to pick their own songs throughout the show rather than getting coaches to push their choices on them. Since you mentioned Creep - Check out Vincint's version of Creep and Brian Justin Crum's version of the same song. They are the two best versions of that song I have heard. You can find them both on youtube.
Such a refreshing change from the high octave belting we’ve had as the standard for female voices for ages now. Chloe showcases how captivating a low, rich, female grittier voice is. Absolutely gorgeous tone to her voice. I really hope someone gets this young woman out there. I want to hear her album. I think she’s my favourite voice of any talent competition show ever.

Oh yes. She sounds so much better than a lot of female singers that have been singing for years. You can actually understand each word she is singing
This is for two reasons: she's a contralto which is generally quite rare and even rarer in pop music, although there are a few (e.g. Katy Perry, Pink, Alicia Keys and yes, Miley). Plus, the genres her voice works well with aren't that popular among young people = can't be marketed that well. Music lovers will love her, though.
@Alice Grace all those singers you mention are actually mezzo-sopranos, though they can do some low notes. Contralto singers are Lana del Rey, Lady Gaga, the two women from Fleetwood Mac. You can identify a contralto because they sound like men; for instance, Cher, Tracy Chapman and Nina Simone.
I kind of hate how female singers in these shows are appreciated if they can very high notes. Chloe has such unique voice and range that I don't understand how people don't go crazy with voices like this one. Contralto voices are so rich and hard to find.

Total eclipse of the heart was one of the best preformances i've ever seen on any music compitition. it brought tears to my eyes,, that usually never happens watching adults, but the passion was real, no doubt.

Wow Blake really knows how to nurture a great talent. He knows what songs fit talents under his care.
It isn’t just her deep, rich, rock voice that is so captivating about Chloe, her stage presence is excellent . I don’t think there has been another of this quality. I just hope her talent isn’t squandered by the suits. Someone must surely realise and nurture her potential.
Almost all of her performances were one of the best versions of the respective songs. We need more rock representation on The Voice US!

After so many singers that all sound the same it's great to hear someone that brings back memories of the greats. Landslide and Call Me performed to perfection and Betty Davis Eyes done with such style and class. She's absolutely brilliant.
And huge kudos to Blake. He's a daft idiot sometimes, which is really funny, but you can't help but respect his ability to bring out the best in the people he mentors.
Just a real voice. Astonishingly good. Total Eclipse of the Heart was mind blowingly epic. Her own song at the end just proves how talented she is. I’d buy her albums
I also think that we should admire and appreciate all the musicians in all the voice for there making the singers sound so good, they are under appreciated and are fantastic.

8:30 this is my favorite rendition of Landslide ever. It's the first and only time I've ever downloaded the covers from The Voice and I keep coming back to her songs because I love them. The emotion she conveys through the songs it's for real, I can feel it and instantly relate to it.
Crazy how her performances on The Voice were like all Grammy quality. Not just The Voice, she has most definitely got the X-Factor.

Her voice and movements were perfect during the song by Blondie - Call Me. I can listen to her all day and I'm a hardcore rap fan. That says a lot.
« Total eclipse of the Heart», she both let go and was overwhelmed by the emotion of the text in the last mesures of the song : so intense and true. Before 21:25, she’s just interpreting, and after 21:25, she puts some real passion in there coming from her own heart in a sensitive crescendo of intensity. It was as she created a bond at this particular moment.
Most of her interpretations are amazing with a beautiful voice color, but on this specific song, she added a part of her heart.

Every time I come back to this, i hear things I didn't initially. And every time that happens, I grow to appreciate Chloe's talent more. She ought to be world famous by now. The Voice surely can't be the top of her mountain.

Wow wow wow, just everything is wow. She truly is the full package. This is by far my favourite performance to date.
Love her tone! Interesting her speaking voice is much more soprano-y at times. Sounds like she’s lowering her larynx to get that darker, huskier tone when singing. She also darkens her vowels with her pursed lips and more closed mouth shape. Loving the breathy choice for her (well-controlled) falsetto, too. Highly emotive! Great choices! Of course, the grit/distortion is the clincher. I’m hooked!
Every song she sang on the show is a song that I love the originals. And she didn't ruin them. Cudos
I have loved this girl from the 1st time she came out and sang this song. Her beautiful husky/scratchy voice is addictive. She can sing anything - and she makes me want to make requests for just about any song I can imagine her singing... which pretty well unlimited. Her last song - her own original; 'Wish I Didn't Love You' - is an instant classic and is now one of my all-time favorite songs ever. I sing it all the time now... an octave lower, because i'm a guy - a really great thing about this song is that like many great lovesongs, it can be sung by a man or a woman.

Total eclipse of the heart, OH MY GOD, I think I like it more than the original, she sang it SO FREAKING WELL. I love the original but oh my gosh, I almost cried because I could feel the emotion in her voice, she felt that song from beginning to end.
This woman idolizes Miley so much, she even copied her looks. Then Miley cuts her, Blake steals her, and she goes on to win the competition!! That's rolling on the flloor hilarity!!
Yeah im so mad with miley decision, but yeah blake has big fan base that helps the vote. Landslide was the best performance and so magnificent. I dont know in the voice, knockout is the most impact moment that makes you win.
Miley did the right thing. When smn tries to be like you, there is likelihood you might not give them the right tools. You are often the worst critic of yourself, you could end up only seeing only the worst in them or be too critical

What a magic. When you hear the perfect collaboration between the performer and the band. Everyone strives for the perfect production. And it comes true. Almost all the songs feel more like excerpts from a concert than individual songs. My credit to Mr. Shelton for his exceptional sense of song choices. My favorit is the I wanna know what love is

What got me, in her first audition, was how very competent she was, to start with....then she let the dogs out! Also her voice is so powerful...and the last part, when she found her vibe, the stagecraft came out to play.
Refreshing to hear a mixture of Kim Karnes, Ann Wilson and Stevie Nicks but still unique. Love her rich and matured voice and such a performer too..WOW! It's mesmerizing watching her sing and perform...

Just a cent, hearing it from the coaches saying that the artist they keep will make it to 'grammy' or radio but the voice NBC sucks at promoting their artists over 10 years is just nullifying. They should def step up in their promotion.

I would buy her record in a minute, this girl has a unique voice, I feel like I recognize different voices in different parts of her songs. These are the songs I listened to and she crushed them. I would love to hear her sing some Marianne Faithful.
