  • In this video I show how to export in SVG format to Illustrator while maintaining the stroke width.
Even though some of us switched completely to Affinity, in some cases you might need to export stuff back to Illustrator (on a client's request...etc).
The advantage of using SVG instead of PDF is to keep the layers as you named them. However, if you use the default SVG export, the strokes might change in thickness (Weight) when imported into Illustrator, or it might look the same but will have a different thickness value.
Setting the "DPI to 72" and making sure the "Flatten Transforms" is ticked, will keep stroke thickness as it is.
In the case of having a stroke with different thickness values in some parts (when using "Pressure" profile), you either "expand" the stroke yourself before exporting it to avoid surprises when illustrator converts it to a shape automatically, or you set the stroke to "0" / remove the "Pressure" profile to keep it as a stroke, and then re-do the needed thickness settings in illustrator.
Hope you find these tips useful.
