Had this figure on pre order for over a year now. Made the unfortunate decision to cancel yesterday. The prototype images looked really promising but this final figure just has too many issues for me personally to justify the 300 dollar price. The blue fabric is just completely inaccurate in color and texture. Tobey never had that rubbery screen printing. No idea why HT added that considering it hinders articulation and gets wrinkled over time. Second, that mask is just off. The lenses are positioned weird, the head shape is off, and that seam on the forehead is just ridiculous. The Tobey head is a great likeness but the expression is void of any emotion whatsoever. I expected so much more from such an expensive Hot Toys figure in 2024... This iconic character deserved SO much better
If only all Hot Toys collector's were more like you the smug Hot Toys corporation would have to start listening to it's customers! Well done 👍 I also passed on this figure 😁 Happy New Year 🎉
I agree. The head sculpt on that one looks insane and he actually has emotion in his face. They gotta fix the mask though. Hopefully they hear the criticisms of this fig and do better @@thefigurehideout

Fantastic review, so thorough and detailed, love how much effort you put into it with all the close up, detailed photographs, the comparisons to the other figures and to the screenshots, even including the dimensions. Most professional figure review I've ever seen!
I get people canceling for various issues, but the sculpt is still worth it IMO. Certainly not perfect, but still the best 1/6 scale version of this character at the moment. Idk why this one is so hard to get right
I don't think it's that bad either. The sculpt, as You implied, is very good. My biggest gripe is the shape of the web on the chin of the masked head and the part between the eyes that should be higher up. And the blue material of the suit seems to be bunching up quite a lot when You pose it.
Hot Toys still haven't learned to make their Spiderman figures posable! Say what you like about the original release it's fully posable! I have 3 of them all in dynamic poses, if only they would make them all more like the original black suit or the Scarlet Spider both look awesome and can be posed in some crazy dynamic poses that don't damage the suit! Granted the new versions look great but you just can't leave them in a proper Spidey pose just a museum one 🥺 Happy New Year to you and all your subscribers 😁😎

It’s hilarious you just mentioned that because I was scrolling RUclips and I saw the mods you’re talking about for the Toby Maguire suit on Spider-Man game . This suit without a doubt I will always drive a steak into its heart. If it is not perfect this is my Spider-Man I grew up with if they can make a 1000 piece Iron Man mark one they can definitely make one simple, freaking leotard wearing web slinger for God sake

how Can anyone look at the set pictures from the suit used in the movies and compare to what hot toys has made and say that they did a good job? The neck seam line is absolutely disgusting The red suit is supposed to have a satin silky tone to it. The eyes should be gleening like glass . It's such a downgrade for both the mask and the headscuplt. Not a single Tobey Spider-man merchandise has the same issue as Hot Toys. It is very simple to place the eye lens in the center of the webbing, and somehow Hot Toys - a leading company in making realistic figures makes such a stupid mistake. Same as the headscuplt, the gap of the chin is huge and it looks terrible. Also, the eyes have exotropia, they turn outward.
In my opinion, buying these kind of figures is a waste of money, I can see that fabric not aging well in 5 years, the webbing pattern coming off, frayed or stressed seams... Not good.

A lot of people display figures with the mask on so don't care about the unmasked sculpt - it all depends on how you want to display it.

Canceled my order. The masked sculpt is just bad and the portrait could have benefited from moving eyes.
Can't make everything perfect. I like it and I'm gonna display him with the maskless head sculpt anyway so it doesn't worry me.

Seam line on his forehead is disgusting- neck connector awful and webbing as you mentioned is off - disappointing so much
