This house has been for sale for many years, it cost 35 million and has not been sold for more than a decade (you can see it). 64th Street is beautiful, but the house needs a lot of work to update it. I like traditional, but esri is too much for my liking. I suppose that for this reason and some others that I don't know, it doesn't sell.
Some of the rooms and original details are quite impressive, however the 90's "upgrades" such as bathrooms and furniture do not blend well with the original features, perhaps that's why the house wasn't landmarked, if it had too many alterations.
@@fuzzyduck1989 landmark status wouldn’t include the interior anyway. The exterior is pretty intact. However, in this video, they don’t mention that the exterior was updated in 1903 and doesn’t resemble the original 1870s facade.
Ariel you do such a a fine job filming I forget it's you on your phone. This is a very bright & beautiful home. Dick Shaw? was Ethel Merman's crazy son in 1963's IT'S A MAD, MAD, MAD, MAD WORLD. 😄
I only read the title of this vid. And I can tell you what you see on the outside is not necessarily what you see on the inside. NY is very old and plumbing and electrical as well as general maintenance is rarely what you would expect. Versailles? Maybe following the revolution.
Lenox Hill is not Upper East Side. Realtors like to stretch area designations to "booost: the orestige of an address, Lenoz Kill is fine without being included in the UES.
Museum? Yes. Home … NO. Missing natural light, open floor plan. There are TONS of pre war town houses in Brooklyn which are remodeled so gorgeously. This one is not.
They can’t unload this well located over the top Marie Antoinette hideaway. Whether the listing is 400,000$ or 40 million $ …. you’re going to have a problem selling if it’s too personalized and somewhat eccentric. If you’re a dinner guest at this townhouse , you have to “lay it on thick” in the compliments department but once you thank them and leave you generally come away with: “What an iconic address… wow”. Then you’re happy to go home and get away from that whole XVIII Century vibe. The agent doesn’t seem to have the “provenance” to do it justice which, of course, dudn’t hepp much either. 😉
Not my interior style, except the bar. Keep the bar and just some slight updates to the other rooms. Pink and grreen walls with rose marble bathrooms are not my bag of fun. Color upgrades all over except the lounge/bar.
I'm sorry but I think so much of this is HIDEOUS! Some of that downstairs wallpaper is just too much. It's disorienting. One could get lost much less trusting a servant to know where the linen closet is. Of course we all try our best.
Whoever deemed this the Versailles of anything has clearly never been to Versailles, never seen a picture of Versailles, and must not have ever heard anyone who wasn't legally blind even DESCRIBE Versailles. This house has what, maybe 11,000 sq ft?? Versailles has 721,000 sq ft. This whole townhouse wouldn't qualify as a bathroom in Versailles, if Versailles had bathrooms, which it does not. Nice try though. (I understand the same folks have deemed the fire hydrant on the corner "the Washington Monument of the U.E.S.")
You would have to LIVE in that house. No outside entertainment possibilities. Very old fashioned like a grandfather’s house. Bigly over priced. Huge remodel job for the buyer.
Over the top. Versailles does NOT work in a townhouse and this is an example of that. Love flowers but the floral insanity on the first floor def. Is over the top. So much space. The designers succeeded in turning that space into a claustrophobic near disaster.
Mmm….nice structure but all the faux stuff makes it cheap looking. Total gut job could be a very nice place after a complete modernization. The owners need to make it less personal…
Regardless how beautiful this property is, I prefer to watch it in a video taken properly by professional videographer instead of someone being distracted by the conversation and flipping the cell phone all around and back & forth so quickly in same pace as where the host looked. That makes viewer dizzy and causing nausea ..... p
I have watched a few house tours in NYC, but they have all been modern interiors. It nice to see a more traditional interior for a change.
Thank you, Jorge, for showing us this unique property and for taking the time to highlight its unique features so well.
Such a beautiful appartmenthouse and so many well thought details in the house, thank you for the tour Ariel.
Oh no Danny I missed Ariel’s livestream, i’m so heartbroken I want to cry!😭
@@Firestorm055x I understand that, I missed you too in chat, but it will be more to come for sure ! 😃
@@Daniel-yb7mx
I hope so! I love Ariel’s livestreams they are so interesting.😃
my favorite was the libraryand the main bedroom wasn't bad either!😅😊
@@LAbee333 I have a hard time to choose my favorites, but those are good picks from you 😃😎
Beautiful home Ariel, and ty Jorge for inviting us in!
yep! excellent!

The vibe in this journey is so cool. I am chilling to it! Thanks for the relaxing time!

I have to agree with you. The refurb is at odds with the architecture.

cozy warm and spectacular! 🛏️ 🛋️ 🛌 someone will appreciate it I'm sure!💝
For 15.99 million, it's a steal. beautiful building. ❤
Ariel one of the best RUclipsrs!
I really appreciate that!
Welcome back Ariel..wow what a beautiful building
so much fun Ariel- thank you!
Mmm. Nice architecture. Not crazy about the decor but that’s an easy fix.
East 64th is Stunning!
I really enjoyed your Athens episodes Ariel. Thank you so much 🇬🇷
Looking very nice.😊
16M polly pocket house, out dated faux-chateau style , without a backyard .... facade is gorgeous tho, LOCATION IS A DREAM
The price of this town house is reflective of the location and square footage.

Just perfect 👌
love 💕 love love
The wall is NOT hand painted, its a wallpaper. You can still buy yellow marble
nightmary 😱😱
I hope you make a video about Istanbul too.

U always go to pretty places
16 million and not even 20 ft wide craziness
Ive been to Versaille before. Im just saying.
Are you still hunting for a new pad?
What avenues is it between E.64th &….
64th and Lexington

Awesome place. I want to buy it. But I'm short of 15.9 million. Ariel can you lend me the rest from all your Stream revenue😮😅
The flowery, boldly-colored walls are a bit too much. Nice, but overdone.
But otherwise you’d get it, huh?
Almost threw up once he walked in
Nothing, really nothing to do with Versailles. Its honestly horrible !
filicitation ❤❤

That’s why NYC resi real estate is such a bad investment. It is really so particular for someone’s liking.
00:05 "can you stand really awkward in the background while I do the intro? thx"

Keep dreaming kids.😂 They are desperate to sell this. They took millions off the original price of 20 mill.
I’m switching my realtor if I’m dealing with Jorge for a $16M purchase. Shady guy who knows nothing.
This guy doesn’t know where the UES is and where Lenox Hill is 🙄
