Was gonna say the same. My parents bought one of the $100 ninjas years ago when I was about 20. I used it for protein shakes and stuff every day for years. I’m 34 now and I’m 99% sure they STILL have that thing. I haven’t used it n a while obviously, but over a decade of use on one of these things is a solid testament to their quality imo.
I have owned both, they both work well. Only thing I would say is cleaning the vitamix is a lot easier and quicker. Other than that, both good blenders
I have a vitamix and make it work. It sucks to see maybe the ninjas better and costs less but I haven’t had any problems making protein ice cream/fluff. You just have to gradually increase the power and not hold it at max for too long. Also continuously mash the ingredients around with the “stick”attachment so it mixes right. I’ve made protein ice cream u can hold over your head for sure haha
Only problem with the ninja is blending stuff like oats it doesn’t emulsify it. It pulverizes with those blades so it is kinda grainy and has bits and pieces in it instead of being uniform
My Vitamix is absolutely insanely good. You might have got a lemon, but I do remember the Costco one they had was not a great model, they used cheaper parts.
@Indrid Cold you can find someone ranting and raving about anything. It doesn't mean it's a quality product for its price. For $500 that blender better unblend my life mistakes but instead it burns out with thick shakes and ice cream
@@gamer8622if you’re cooking with it it’s pretty useful. From my understanding it makes creamier sauces than ninja, especially if the sauce contains nuts.
i got a old vitamix blender base for $80 and a pitcher with lid for $40 off amazon. Best blender ever, never has burnt out on me, i blend alot of frozen shit. its $500 new

I don’t even have one of the smart ones, I use a C series. I’m guessing you just throw in your ingredients with no regard to how much water you should be adding and then mindlessly start at speed lv 10.
I have one of the older vitamix. The original motor is still going after 20 years. Just had to replace the container once after 11 tears. Their customer service was good. Unless their quality control has gone downhill, I'd definitely consider buying another one but a basic model again. The more options on something, the greater propensity to break. How is the nutribullet?
The Ninja is showing some pretty supramechanical characteristics for a blender at that price point. An unassuming appliance but diced to the socks under the hood
Seriously, all the newer generation Ninja kitchen appliances are the best! Love the Auto IQ settings! I got the single-serve smoothie bowl maker, and, although I've only made 3 smoothie bowls in over a year that I've owned it, I use it daily for whole food shakes. Some juicing as well! That thing is sooo loud though! Sounds like a jet engine in my kitchen! I've only overloaded it once, it stops on its own thankfully. I do want to upgrade to the Pro kitchen system they have now though - includes a big pitcher, 2 single-serve blender cups & it's a food processor as well so I'll save some room in the kitchen! I think it's 1700 watts! I see homemade Pesto pasta sauce in my future 😋
Ninja is great for baking / cooking tasks too, The triple blades rip through oats for oat milk, peanuts, graham crackers, sauces etc. It sucks at seeds but thats what the smoothie cups are for.
I have a Ninja and a Vitamix (both the smoothie making cup kind/attachments. Vitamix blows it out of the water, the smoothness of the smoothie is incomparable. That said, Ninja is quicker and easier.
I blame Coach greg and will tennyson for basically giving away the idea that Vitamix is the go too, when they're just flexing that they have rich people money.
Interesting, my family had had our vitamix for probably about 10 years at this point and it's still kicking. I make very thick protein smoothies with it every night, and my mom makes nut flours with a special attachment. They must have cheapened their production process or released a new less expensive product line.
More likely user error. Sounds like he didn’t use a tamper, didn’t use enough liquid, and may have put the protein powder below the ice/liquid, which is incorrect blending order. He may have gotten a dud, but he should have perfected his technique and then exchanged it if necessary. As a current Vitamix owner and former Ninja owner, I can assure you the Ninja is hot garbage in comparison.
The Vitamix definitely has a learning curve and in a few instances will seem to perform worse than the Ninja. Particularly when it comes to blending something with less liquid. But overall after having both the Vitamix produces superior results. It is ridiculously powerful.
I know exactly why it happened. You’re supposed to have the vitamix on full speed for long periods of time. It’s self cooling and the wind it generates cools its own motor down. If you have it on a sub high speed for a long period of time the motor does not sufficiently cool
Ive always had issues with blenders. Someone recommended the blendtec to me about 5 years ago. It was a cheap blender but 5 years later it’s still going strong. I wore out one of the jars gaskets and contacted customer service. They swapped it out no questions ask. Other than that, this thing blends anything and everything
I used the ninja for a year and IT SUCKS. It waters out faster and it stains awfully. Like it gets a weird smell on it after using it for 6-12 months. Even after washing it regularly. Mine cuts out too. Should have got a vitamix instead. After my Ninja goes I am getting one though.

I've had both and now 7 years later my vitamix 5300 is amazing. I hated the sharp blades of the Ninja. However, it worked great! Well, I thought it did until I tried a Vitamix.
