    I'm guessing the father had a bad experience with a previous plumber who did a bad job and didn't even try to get all the grease out, so he just assumed these guys were going to poke a hole in it and leave it at that. Thankfully these guys are way more thorough than that and they take their work seriously, showing the customer what was wrong, that the problem is fixed, and how to prevent it from happening in the future.

    How long have people been dumping fats and grease down the drain to get rid of it? Is the sewer they are dumping into also connected to the sanitary (toilets) sewer? Or it the drain sewer separate from the sanitary? Also, if folks are calling you to come back in a couple of weeks to clean the pipes, why do they keep dumping oil and grease in the drain?

    • @stevebabiak6997
      @stevebabiak6997 3 года назад +1

      In my area, there are two types of public sewer systems - I’ll call them commingled and split.
      In the split system, the exterior water that is collected in gutters will be fed by the downspouts onto the ground, and all of the interior drains will be fed into the public sanitary sewer system. In the commingled system, the downspouts also feed into the public sanitary sewer system (as well as all of the interior drains).
      So I am not aware of the type of public system you mentioned, where the sanitary system is basically toilets only; I guess the other water might be called “gray water”. In septic systems (not public sewer), this type of split system might make sense in my area (but I am not at all knowledgeable about septic systems).

      That should be a "flex shaft", their exist Different versions of it some have the shaft in a box where the drill gets attached and others seem to be just the Shaft where you attache the drill directly.
      Searching for "Flex Shaft Plumbing" delivered some results for me.
