justgivemethetruth so you think 17.4 million isn't a big enough number? With a majority of nearly 2 million? There was a clear margin, and I doubt if the referendum was the same result but the winning side was reversed you would be saying what you are saying. Finally which lies would they be? The recession that would hit the moment a leave outcome was revealed? Or world war three, which was going to happen soon after the vote due to the instability of the UK leaving a political union that nobody in the country voted for? You have a very biased view and, not a large amount of facts.

In terms of the past the biggest issue was Kavanaugh's constantly changing story when new information came out. At first he said he barely even drank beer which turned into him sitting in front of Congress proclaiming "I love beer, who doesn't love beer?"

We have a conservative stacked Supreme Court. Citizen's United was just the beginning. There it shows the fundamental difference in people.
Sullivan is usually on the other side of things, if you're Dem, then he's a Rep, etc.
Although he does meet in the middle more often than a Mitch McConnell or something, but you would never really become best friends with them.
There is just that fundamental difference in way of thinking/morals, there will always be that invisible barrier.

Especially seeing how little they brought to the table.
Brexiteers love to complain about their deals being turned down, but they really aren't seeing the bigger picture.
They really have to come with a proper plan and business deal, instead of having us deal with the mess.
They want to cut clean and run off, but the EU & UK are still married with millions of other deals and contracts, or treaties even.
The constant pushing of their ideals is putting the affected people in a tricky situation.
Not just people, but businesses too, BMW is forced to make investments solely because of the will of (by now) a minority, among many other companies.
They've been hard on May for not getting anything done, but did they really think Boris was going to be the magical wizard to make it happen?
They've made things so awkward and messy, i actually figured that they would just become silent after a while because of the smothering embarrassment, so we could all forget that it ever happened.
But it goes on... and on... I hope there will be a new referendum joined in with the election, then if people STILL want the Brexit, well, so be it.

killoreo I'm not disputing the result of the referendum. But Andrew's framing of what is going on in the UK now is totally wrong. MPs aren't blocking Brexit in its entirety. They are blocking a version of it that would see us leave the EU without a deal - something that was not on the ballot paper in 2016, that no one campaigning for Leave in 2016 said was going to happen and a scenario that 54% of voters in the 2017 UK general election refuted by voting for parties that explicitly ruled out No Deal in their manifestos. If the 52% that voted Leave can be treated as such an overwhelming majority, then that 54% deserves to be treated as such.
Also, Trump lost the popular vote by 3 million votes. He's only President as a result of the archaic Electoral College process that, over the last 30 years, has disproportionately levelled the playing field in American politics despite Democrats almost ALWAYS winning the popular vote.

He lectured a black woman about the black community, who I’m guessing has more real-life, in-depth knowledge of the subject than he does, and painted sexual assault as just a “youthful indiscretion” - not unlike college frat boys who see sexual assault as a “harmless” game to play at parties, a sport one in which women are the “trophies” - with no recognition that the victim’s life is forever and profoundly altered.
And he attacked her as if she personally spearheaded a “smear campaign” against Kavanaugh - who is also an arrogant, self-righteous, entitled douchebag who devolves into histrionics when anyone dares to question him, which I suppose is why Sullivan sympathizes with him. @Takee I'm not the biggest fan of Andrew Sullivan. But I think what he was trying to say was that African-American children are disproportionately affected by lack of fathers in the household. And given the over incarceration and over policing of African American men, it's not surprising that many black children are born without fathers. I think that is what he was getting at or maybe I'm giving Andrew too much credit.

But it is supposed to be a show with political discussions, and that works best if not everyone is on the same side, otherwise it will just be people complaining about things.
But i do agree, i'm not a big fan of Sullivan in general.

@@Games_and_Music I agree to having people with different points of view however they need to have thier facts right usually bill corrects them as he should this guy was wrong and disrespectful on all subjects, being on this show gives them credibility that they don't deserve , the Cavanaugh guy had 82 + sexual complaints as federal judge that was held and then dismissed because he is a justice now , this is not when he was a young man this is his behavior now , and this guy and many others defend him it's just wrong, I wonder if the act was done on his mother, sister, wife, or daughter no matter how long ago would he still be excusing it no matter how long ago it had happened, and people spent years behind bars rightfully so for crimes like that.

I rather liked them actually. Especially Andrew Sullivan even though I disagree with him, because at least he offers some disagreement in the conversations.

Bill Maher I am long time fan of your work, and will continue to support you. However, I have been seeing you exhibit a tone deaf attitude toward the Black community... On your show 9/20/2019 I heard many ignorant arguments made by many non-blacks against the Black Community. These arguments always include exaggerated numbers, suspect polling and an absolute disregard for the chronological history of racism in this country, which purposely impeded our progress and decimated Black Communities through out the country. Yes, there are problems in the Black Community which we need corrected, but they're not the exaggerated numbers non-whites love to spew, or the misleading polling, and even it makes you uncomfortable as a White Man, Yes, There is an intentional system, then and now, designed to keep as many of us behind as possible... You, and some of your guest, instead of truly listening and learning, have chosen to shutdown the discussion or shutdown people whenever they begin to eloquently explain the Black reality in this country -- Bill, you even suggested that your audience hates themselves... This dismissal on your part is making you tone deaf, and the exaggerated lies told using flawed / false data now has a megaphone on your show... Still, I love your show, I will still continue to watch. But you need some more real Black friends like Heather McGhee to help you unclog you ears, open you mind and your heart.
