Dave at jdm cali is super nice guy treats every so well. My buddy had an issue that was probably actually his own fault and Dave still gave him a new engine. Such good service.
Wow! That's great! Now I know what I'm going to do to my 2004 WRX when the time comes. I like the swapability aspect of the existing parts. It's a catted up pipe? Somehow that surprises me. I'm in the middle of complete rebuild of my 2004 wrx right now, and I have a non-catted Perrin sitting in the tv room about to get heat wrapped. Thanks again Bucky. Love the channel. Oh, and as a guy from Philly, so jealous the In-n-out, but every time I get a double double animal style I want to sleep for 3 hours.
Love In n Out. I picked up an EJ206 for my swap. It was more cost-effective than the Ej205 AVCS swap. The 206 has a higher compression ratio so the tune is different than the 205. I actually did stop at this JDM shop. He helped me find an STI drive shaft when the other shop didn't have it. Nice guys
I wouldn't say a valve cover is "really difficult" to replace when the motor is in the car, but it's definitely a hell of a lot easier to do it now! What a nice clean looking engine for 103,000 km. It really looks like they picked out a good one. I'm curious to see how far the check up goes. It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to just go ahead and redo the head gaskets since you're going to have the timing belt off anyway. I'm excited to see where it goes either way =D
Hey Bucky love your vids. I’m in SD just got a 2020 STI just passed the break in period looking to find some subi bro’s to show me the ropes in the canyons any recommendations? Also congratulations on the bluefin looks like you got it on the kite? Homies boat or a charter trip? Would love to see some more fishing content.
BuckYeah good stuff thanks I’m gunna check out the next San Diego subi’s meet! Would love to see the bucket in real life at a meet someday! Or maybe even catch you at the fishing spot haha..Keep up the great content
@@BuckyLasekOfficial There is an inexpensive upgrade for the TD04L-13T to change out the housing and wheel to the Saab 19T. It is about $300 and gives it a little more mid to upper rpm range. Maybe something to consider...
So excited to follow along. Have a 99 just like yours that I've been wanting to swap but nervous to pull apart my prized possession without fully knowing what I need. Why did you go with JDM over USMD? Just for the avcs? Also are you willing to share what that engine cost you from them?
It would be great if you could post the website of the guys you bought that motor from. When I google them I get the Ontario office, was that the one David works at or no?
I know In some states farm vehicles are emissions exempt... since you’ve got a good chunk of land and raise tortoise’s maybe you can get emissions exemption and build the snot out of the RS 🤘😈 LoL gotta find the loopholes! I’m sure they are there.
Love the Chanel! Was hoping someone could help me out . I’m trying to replace the brush guides on my doors that are scratching my windows . I know I have seen an episode on here where the bucket got new ones but I can’t seem to find it . I want to know what they are called and where to get them . Help me out please .
As someone who can afford more expensive sports cars and who owned higher end German cars, What attracted you to the Impreza platform? Do you find these more fun to drive?
The only time I ever wished to live in California. Where I live it’s a pain to find anyone to do that swap w/o driving hours and spending thousands of dollars! 3 years later and I’m only half done ☹️
Yo did the sketchy place you went have a Supra? I bought my RFRB bumper from a place that every guy there was a TOTAL douche and it was also in Ontario lol
@@BuckyLasekOfficial Yeah theres another shop out there in Ontario called JDM ENGINE PRO. Definitely wasn't the guy you went to!! Acted like I was bothering them by paying full price for their parts lol
8:48 that guy almost had his head crushed by a forklift. Jdm california please safety first, he needs a hardhat on or something . Lol now that i gave a safety tip can i get a free EJ207 engine for my build please !?!

David is rad 💪🏼
I knew when you decided to take the RS back from your daughter we were gonna see some work done to it. Can’t wait for the next video!!!
Oh shit man! I’m pumped about this new series! Can’t wait to see how it turns out in the end
Damn! JDM California comes through in the clutch!!! Can't wait to see this thing come together!!!

Unboxed will be next then hopefully an RS Swap update👍🏼
Been waiting for this ever since the brake install video, very excited to see the whole process unfold. Also, wow, they got that motor quick.
Cant wait for the next video...cars gonna be dope!
Such a nice looking RS, looking forward to the swap.
Thank you
Love that spot. I’ve done business with David multiple times and will alway recommend him
In and out is damn good. These videos rule!
Thanks 🤘🏼
Couple weeks away from getting back to America! Thank you for keeping my Subaru itch scratched while I'm away from my scoobaru!
Can’t wait for the new shirts to drop and some of those hot wheels too!
Friday the shirts will be on my site 👍🏼 buckylasek81.com
Love the content Bucky! watching since day 1! from Canada
Thank you
I'm excited, that EJ 205 is CLEAN!!!
Love it when you do skids at the end lol makes me keen to do some my self 🤣
Excited to see your process and engine work. I am doing the same on a jdm 207
The ISH got got real. Love the intro,Buck!
Such a clean ej!

I just bought a 2000 2.5rs sedan and I'm really looking forward to this series. Sold on iwire and jdm of California.

I always loved two double-doubles animal style.
What turbo is on the 205 AVCS?
Stock WRX TDO4L

Troy Fankell I have an Sti turbo and intercooler that I have from my other build I’ll be throwing on.

I went with the JDM due to it being the cheapest option and the motor costs around $1,200.
Hey Bucky, are you gonna widebody?
Can't wait to see the progress on this one.
No widebody, this is my daily and the paint is good👍🏼
This is where I bought my swap package. My stuff wasn't as clean as that lol.
What would be the difference in buying one here than buying an American 2.0 or 2.5?
Love In-N-Out! Always hit them up when I’m in California. Looking forward to see how the swap turns out.
Love the build videos Buck! One question though. Why go WRX swap instead of an STI swap? Is it for the higher rev limit?
Building this one on a budget so others can follow my lead 👍🏼

@@BuckyLasekOfficial You should get a kickback, I just ordered an engine from JDM yesterday cause of this video.

Why didn't u go with an sti motor?
Going to be sick either way

Nah, my blue RS.

am I missing something here? EJ 205 is the USDM and EJ 207 is the JDM version. So he got an EJ 205 imported from japan?

8:48 that guy almost had his head crushed by a forklift. Jdm california please safety first, he needs a hardhat on or something . Lol now that i gave a safety tip can i get a free EJ207 engine for my build please !?!
He had his hair gauge which worked perfectly 👍🏼😂
Are you going for CARB legal again or no?
Not sure.
Animal style FTW
My opinion,
Better rebuilt the engine than swap.
This will see no mods besides maybe an intake and exhaust due to it being my daily so it will be fine.
BuckYeah
What wrong with the current RS engine
First time i watched this i didn't realize he had gone to the wrong place at first. I've been there and yup the guy was truly awful and sketchy.
I think this woman at iwire likes Bucky
Toronto auto parts have a lot of jdm 😢 reco. mend them too I bought some Subaru parts and transmissions from them great costumer services
Good to know!
