I have found that if I pull the tubing out first, it usually helps. I have also used two lids at a time. One seals down and the other comes off. Doesn't always work but it does seem to do better.
Angie, try putting regular lid on jar, then a second lid upside down on top of first lid. Then seal. , remove sealing thing, remove upside down lid, the lid on top of jar should be sealed. That's how I do it.
This works for me too, otherwise it seals and then removing the sealer attachment breaks the seal. I also need to disconnect the tube from the sealer before removing the attachment to release the pressure.
Hi this will help with that sealer. Remove the tubbing from jar piece, put the lid on jar, put the sealer cap on the jar, then put the tube in cap. Proceed to sealing jar. Its the only way I get mine to work. Plus you will hear the lid snap down when it seals. Hope it helps you out. Oh put the blue ring back in the way the factory had it. 😃
God love ya. That damn thing was trying your very last nerve the whole way. Your final product looked fabulous and you are looking like you feel a whole lot better. Have a good weekend and be safe.
I agree with another comment. You should hear a 'snap' when it seals. Also noticed that you connected the tube to cap before sealing. Put cap on first. Make sure the rim of the jar is complete free of residue from food particles. When removing cap do not pry up but slightly twist to release gasket from lid. If all else fail call the manufacturer to get a 'fix it' instruction or get a new vacuum sealer.
Thanks for the idea to dehydrate canned tomatoes. Looks as tho' yours turned out perfectly. FYI: Heidi, over at RAIN COUNTRY, uses a break bleeder to vacuum seal the jars she stores her dehydrated food in. She attaches the vacuum sealer hose to the break bleeder, places the sealer gadget over the jar lid, attaches the other end of the hose to the sealer lid and pumps the bleeder up to 15 lbs of pressure. And, voila!! The lid is sealed. Hope this helps. When technology fails, we can always depend on the old ways. :-D Hope this helps, Angie.
Oh I feel your pain with the vacuum sealer. Mine works fine on jars but I can’t get it to vacuum the bags. It makes a noise like it wants to vacuum but it never works and then it seals the bag. I get so frustrated and have tried everything. I do just what you do for the lids and mine happens to work for that though.
Did you ever get your sealer to work? I have learned that I can push a lid flat up inside of the small sealer and then it works fine for me, otherwise it never seals. I sometimes can wash the rubber seal from inside the large one in warm water and them it seals when it gives me problems but usually only the small one causes me trouble. Oh by the way try removing the air hose from the jar before you take off the sealer lid that might help. Good luck.
Angie I had the same problem with my lid sealer on the FoodSaver. I called FoodSaver helpline and was told to use two lids. You put one lid on the jar as you were doing and a take second lid of the same size and put metal side down on top of the lid on the jar then place the jar lid sealer on top of the jar and push the button. Metal to metal. At first it was a bit awkward but I have it down now and I rarely have one that doesn't seal the first try. I asked the FoodSaver gal why they just didn't make an adapter that worked. She told me she would pass on my comments
Angie I found that if I put 2 wide mouth lids in my sealer it worked better, the one touching the jar is the only one that seals though, then you just remove the extra one when done sealing. I have never dehydrated canned tomatoes can you blend them to make tomato powder??? thanks for this video
@@AngiesPantry58 thank you for the reply I have a case of Rotel tomatoes from Sam's club that needs used and I am thinking of dehydrating them and making powder thanks for the idea plus when my S_I_L goes to sams club again I am having him pick me up some #10 cans of diced not sure they have other kind
First take a dry towel and clean off the rim and the lid. Check for any cracks on the jar ... that would prevent it from sealing, Place the rubber jar sealer on the jar BEFORE you add the hose, Now before putting on the band, lay another lid on top of your lid but the second lid should be upside down. Also Try putting the rubber lid on straight down as possible. Now try sealing. BEFORE REMOVING THE RUBBER CAP, "PULL THE HOSE OFF THE TOP QUICKLY, WHICH WILL ALLOW YOU TO HEAR THE SEALING SOUND OF A SMALL HISS. NOW TAKE THE RUBBER SEALER AND THE EXTRA LID OFF AND CHECK THE SEAL Let me know if it works for you!
@@AngiesPantry58 You are welcome. I felt your frustrations. I know it works. Good luck. It may be worth a try with dummy ingredients so you at least know it will work before you are up against food that has to be sealed. Just a tip.

I will try that .. Thank you that machine is trying my patience ... LOL
This works for me, too!

Works for me too.
Pull the tubing out of either the sealer or the cap to release the vacuum seal before trying to remove it from the jar.
Was going to post the same. It is the only way mine works as well.
Just watched Bev on Our half acre homestead and she pulls the hose out of the cap before pulling it off the jar

Great video and such a comforting narration
you can add juice to your chilis or pasta's in a roast. Hope that helps.
@@AngiesPantry58 Those are fantastic ideas!!! Thank you 🙏
AnnaLee I used it in Chili and Goulash. Thank you for stopping by have a great weekend.
I just started dehydrating for the first time & I was was wondering if I could dehydrate canned tomatoes. Thanks for the video.
Yes you can!

I use two lids, plus my sealer goes for a lot longer...going to try this with canned tomatoes 🍅

Wonderful idea. I came across a sale for 2. Per #10 lb can. Haven’t opened cause I had no idea what to use them all up... so doing this!! Thank you🤗

I always disconnect the tube from cap whenever I seal my jars.
I put the lid on first, then attach the hose. When it stops, detach the hose first. If you hear a “whoosh”, it’s sealed. Hope this helps.
Thank you I will have to try that still having issues ..

You need to replace the foam gaskets.
You need to take the hose off your jars before you take the attachment off
Thank you for the tip.
I see a lot of people using the small handheld vacuum sealer. It's about $20 on Amazon. Maybe it would for you. I enjoy your videos !!
I am thinking about getting one of those. I just wish that Vac Jar sealer would work better then it does. UGH :"(
I love dehydrated tomatoes in my salads. I never thought of using canned tomatoes. Great idea!
I have the same problem occasionally. I've often wondered if I pushed the sealer down to far.

I try all these tips. Yet it works when it wants too.. UGH I think it hates me. LOL
What can I make with all that lovely juice???
I am going to make some Enchilada Sauce out of mine. & If there is enough left over I might make some chili with it.

I am glad I seen this. I was considering buying the adapter you have. I'm keeping my money.

It’s not running long enough. Same w mine. 🙄
