90% of the shopping jewelry, especially vintage jewelry, have no clue about brand names nor do they search with them. However, they will search "Vintage purple sparkly 3 strand necklace" or "old 1950s costume pearl necklace" or " weird orange plastic skull Halloween necklace" (sold that one for $17)..... So many things tossed off as "junk" could easily make money!!!!. You have to think about how people will search and use those key words. I hear all the time "I cant sell this"... Oh yes you can, you just have to know how to!! Great points Margaret!
I never have trouble selling no name jewelry. My descriptions and key words are the most important part of my listing, and the brand's come last. Most of my buyers don't care about brands, I sell things by the piece. Things people are looking for. They don't always sell for the best money, but some do, and it makes up for it in quantity.
I haven’t listed anything yet, kind of nervous about how to do it. Been buying some jewelry bags cuz it’s so fun. This video was very helpful! Thank you!
You are a Godsend, thank you for doing this one for us! I just started listing jewelry this week for the first time and my mom gave me a bunch but can't remember anything about the pieces. I'm not even sure what's real gold or silver, the age of certain items and I was worried I had to know the maker and info on every piece before I could sell them. It was nerve wracking but now I'll be more brave and follow your tips!
Hi Margaret...and I actually put this video on hold so I could join the FB group...and already got 2 people commenting. As well, I wrote down the 6 things you talked about and will be going into my eB listing to fix. I am new "sorta"...have been playing with eBay for several months then about 3 mos ago found Suzanne A. Wells, signed up to take her class and it is almost akin to magic because last month I sold my first items, actually, 5 items. And with your help and others this is so wonderful that there are so many like you and Suzanne plus, who all are here to help each other...I'm like that too...have already shared with several people at work that once I'm doing really well with eBay, I'll be happy to share whatever I've learned if they want to learn too. By the way, I live in Houston. Happy New Year...and while my Prime Rib roast is cooking, I'm going to get into eB and see if I can do some jewelry fixing.
I'm a slow dime seller. I will price the item at what I think it should sell for which may be way higher than any listed or have sold for in the past. I add best offer and usually counteroffer unless they give a really good offer. Great tips. I also take items to my antique co-ops that have been on ebay for a while. I take items from my booths and put them on ebay. Most times items sell that way.
I am definitely trying to be a fast seller. I sold one item a Brighton leather keychain and it’ sold after 30 minutes. So I guess maybe I was a little too low on the price. But honestly I was happy. It was my first sale.
Great video - thank you! Here's a tip. I noticed the surface of your Anne Klein piece was a bit busy. Sometimes I use a piece of poster board with faux marble contact paper on it as my base. It can help make the jewelry piece look more expensive. The contact paper can reflect light but if you keep the camera further from the piece and just zoom in it will fix the problem. Hope somebody finds this idea useful.
Great tips. Until this video I would not have ever bought.jewelry that is unmarked. Now I might give it a try just to see what happens. Happy thrifting
All of this was very helpful. Thank You! I have tons of costume jewelry Unbranded and new. Listed a bunch before I watched this. Haven’t sold any yet. HELP LOL
Your tips are amazing and I am a member of your FB page, thanks so much, I have never asked a question, but I have learned so much from the group by just looking on...
This is very helpful! I’m trying to sell my moms handmade crochet. Definitely a niche. I’ve sold clothes and stuff on Poshmark before, but now I’m trying her crochet. I’ve only been doing it for 10 days. I’ve got a lot of likes but no sales yet.
I haven’t sold in a while. But when I did it was on eBay auctions. I would post high end 14k or 10k pieces and start the bidding at one dollar, but post it for the 10 day duration. The longer it’s on with a low starting bid, the more watchers and bidders it attracts. I once sold a tiny 14k pendant set with rubies and sapphires for $200. I had gotten it at a flea market for a dollar! I currently have a couple hand crafted pieces that I know are gold, but have no stamp indication on them of gold content. I want to sell them but don’t have ant testing capabilities. Any suggestions?
I sell native american jewelry on Etsy and Ebay. I would like to start listing on Poshmark. Should I use handcrafted as the category or start a category as Native American? All of my items are handmade or handcrafted by native Americans.
I'm glad I found this. I bought a few pieces of jewelry at a yard sale and it's unmarked. Also I think they are vintage. So I hesitated listing them because I wasn't sure how to list them. Thanks so much.
I just joined the facebook group! My mom gave me two FULL jewelry boxes of vintage jewlery items. I haven't even posted half of them because I just have no clue what to call them. Thanks for the video!!
Great video I have a lot of nice jewelry but unknown just the name brand is selling and if it's worth it I will let jewelry sit there till a get a good price!
I just started selling Jewelry on eBay ... Good Information... Because I was a lil discouraged.. Because it's been a week and I have not got any sales yet.
Great tips. I am going back right now to check out my old listings. Hair looks cute today, not that it doesn't look cute other days too. Lol, time to go make my slow dime. 😉
Welll.... that's just about how I do things my own self. It's good to know that it's good advice. I too like to list high first.... actually I will not list too high if I can't find anything like my piece to compare it to, or if it's got issues. Like you said, you can always list lower or put it on sale or change up your keywords and photos.
I've been following you for years but never really got much into jewelry but that is about to change now. I'm debating on props, do I need that black bust for necklaces? I'm going to search through some of your listings to see how you list necklaces. Thanks for being here, great info in the video, I think I'm a fast nickle but if it doesn't sell I just forget about it :)
I have a question I am a big seller on eBay and Mercari And I want to start yelling on poshmark but it's just so much more difficult and it takes so much time and They want you to put down the original price which is impossible to know or find out on 90% of items
Thanks for the info 🙂 I've been a struggling jewellery maker and seller for years, I get loads of views and lovely compliments but no one is buying, although y site is only on FB, I do put videos and pictures on TikTok and Instagram as well. I can't afford to advertise on other places . Where else can I advertise for free please? Xx
Do you think this also works for eBay? I don't currently sell on Etsy and I feel like I struggle to sell unbranded jewelry on eBay, so I shy away from sourcing it.
What is domicine? Lol, could you please do an update to this video? We now have ebay photo and Google lens to help with key words and i.d. Maybe do a photography lesson on how to better take jewelry photos!
martha posey I always listed the items I am sure about first. If I know the brand, how much I will charge, if it is marked sterling or 925, or if it is new with tags, things I am absolutely sure of without doing any research. I do those items first, just because I all have to do is take pictures, write a description and list the price and I am done within five to ten minutes. Then those listings are done, on eBay, and I can put them away and go on to the next.
Great video! I know this is an older video, it came up while looking up I’m going to start selling vintage jewelry. I am glad you don’t have this hair style anymore lol…
Don’t bother trying to sell fine jewelry on Posh. Even with Gemological Institute of America (GIA) certificates you will be competing against items that Posh doesn’t monitor that are CZ’s labeled as Diamonds. It’s crazy
I have been buying jewelry for a year with the intent to sell on eBay but the process of all of the required item specifics is discouraging yuck so I guess I have a failure to start
A girl told me my jewelry won’t sell on Etsy but I bought it and it says it’s vintage. I only have 18 pieces to start with .....should I list them on Etsy too
Is this mainly for the title or for the tags and description? I am a dime girl I wait for the right buyer which sometimes is hard the best offer can be low also So I do higher then lower after a few months, but I do use best offer on most listings Good info thanks!!
After an amazing 11 years, I decided to venture into my attic and guess what? I stumbled upon a hidden treasure trove - a jewelry box filled with all sorts of dazzling pieces, along with a purse bursting with watches and more jewelry. I dedicated some quality time to diligently organizing, categorizing, and giving them a good clean. But here's the challenge - since I lack any brand information, I'm a male, and I don't have a fashionable female to guide me, I'm at a loss when it comes to pricing these beauties. I have an impressive collection of around 100 watches, 80 necklaces, 60 rings, 45 earrings, and various other jewelry items. Any help or advice would be truly appreciated!
I’m scared I would be told Im not worthy as a veteran I have PTSD I have been hiding from the world for 17 years, so head of household of 5 and my mom has bipolar so after I put them first only, I only dream and collect just in case I finally get courage to start my online biz. I been just waiting on the sidelines …I need a step by step and maybe finally help someone like me……tmi sorry.
Prayers up darlin. I too am afraid at times but repeat to myself that God didn't create us to live in fear. I truly hope that helps. Many Blessings being sent your way. It now goes through my head that I cannot get more money after something sells. Thanks to you

Thanks for the info!
I keep forgetting to harvest key words
It’s so easy and so helpful 🤦🏼♀️
Gotta remember that!
Thanks so much for All the information your sharing. I so appreciate this.
Yes I do. Very difficult (especially on poshmark). That is what brought me to your page.
Great tips. Until this video I would not have ever bought.jewelry that is unmarked. Now I might give it a try just to see what happens. Happy thrifting
Glad it was helpful!
All of this was very helpful. Thank You! I have tons of costume jewelry Unbranded and new. Listed a bunch before I watched this. Haven’t sold any yet. HELP LOL
Wanting to sell on eBay and Etsy when I retire next month. Researching. Your videos are very encouraging and I appreciate you !!!!
Thankyou !!!
You can do it!
Excellent teaching, newbie here. Trying to sell my mom's and grandmother's pieces. Most are branded, but not all.
Wonderful!
Quetzal is the national bird of Guatemala. It’s a very beautiful tiny bird lol
Jessica Ramirez, :) Thank you very much!! :)
I always learn new ways to make selling on my eBay store better because of your videos! Thanks so much.
Your tips are amazing and I am a member of your FB page, thanks so much, I have never asked a question, but I have learned so much from the group by just looking on...
Typically, how long does it take for you to sell an item online? Does it sit for 1 week or maybe a month before it sells? Thanks so much
Terrific video!
Waiting for my first box from King Kong. Can't wait to learn more.

I'm a price high slow dime kind of person. But I'm very reasonable when it comes to accepting offers
i am so glad you told me about that group.great video

Hi Margaret! Haven't seen you in a while and I must tell you that your hair is just adorable! I really love it-it's you! Great video-great tips! :-)
Definitely will look thru my listings and photograph some items differently. I'm a slow dime maker.
I sell native american jewelry on Etsy and Ebay. I would like to start listing on Poshmark. Should I use handcrafted as the category or start a category as Native American? All of my items are handmade or handcrafted by native Americans.

I just started selling Jewelry on eBay ... Good Information... Because I was a lil discouraged.. Because it's been a week and I have not got any sales yet.
put the number 0, that's what I put and it's ok
Great tips. I am going back right now to check out my old listings. Hair looks cute today, not that it doesn't look cute other days too. Lol, time to go make my slow dime. 😉
Thank you for the great information. I have not start to sell yet. But I am learning first
Great topics, lately, Margaret! Thank you so much! I will be a slow dime seller..

I found a brooch that the sinner spins. How can I find something on that?
What type of iPhone do you have?
Thanks for all the great information! I have several listings that I need to go back and redo.
Thanks for the info 🙂 I've been a struggling jewellery maker and seller for years, I get loads of views and lovely compliments but no one is buying, although y site is only on FB, I do put videos and pictures on TikTok and Instagram as well. I don't do too much advertising
How do you sell your stuff without much advertising? X
Wished Ihad found you before the school of hard knocks! Lol
Do you think this also works for eBay? I don't currently sell on Etsy and I feel like I struggle to sell unbranded jewelry on eBay, so I shy away from sourcing it.

Slow dime...
Thank you! I need more descriptive words for my listings!
I'm a slow dime kind of a person. Love the tips thanks.
Need to know, when you first started listing, did you start with your lower asking price items rather than your more high end things?
Great question! I would love to know the answer also!
martha posey I always listed the items I am sure about first. Very helpful! I feel very much the same as you! Looking forward to more videos!

Great tips! Appreciate this video. Thank you!
Great advice!
Jo Ann Jones, :) Thank you very much!! :)
I have great jewelry but not branded and I wanna sell them on Poshmark but worried they won’t sell even though their sterling silver and gold
Do u start at Posh Mark yet? Just want to know I should start or forget abot it.
LOVE! Thank you ❤
Very good . I love it
eBay has a category for “brand” and it is not optional. It must be filled in. What do you put in that category for no name brand?
Don’t bother trying to sell fine jewelry on Posh. Even with Gemological Institute of America (GIA) certificates you will be competing against items that Posh doesn’t monitor that are CZ’s labeled as Diamonds. It’s crazy

Can I ask you what it means when they say: UNBRANDED ❓
Sorry to bother you,TIA❗❗❤️
I loved your video . Thank you
So glad!
Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!!!
Glad you like it!
Excellent suggestions, Margaret! Thanks for the tips.
In poshmark you have to list a brand how do I do that If there is no brand
I would suggest never cross post Ebay auction items.
You are such an asset, Margaret
Is this mainly for the title or for the tags and description?
I am a dime girl I wait for the right buyer which sometimes is hard the best offer can be low also
So I do higher then lower after a few months, but I do use best offer on most listings
Good info thanks!!
I always make sure my best offer is nothing less than I am willing to accept for the item.
Awwww I missed! But, needed this! BTW, you look too cute! Love the look!

Additionally I'm not from taxes and obviously not a gal so I don't know if I should or can go to that site to ask lol
You can definitely join the group to get help :)
Thanks so much!
This video was awesome!
I have a problem listing jewelry on Etsy since I have to make sure of age. It's harder to date something without a name on it.
