Awesome, this is the kind of info you need to spend months to gather and here we have it in less than 10 min. Thanks a lot for your amazing content, nothing like Tech Tuesdays!!!!!
All in all it sounds like a boat wrap is the way to go! Either way, its gonna be relatively expensive, but like you said the resale value when you pull that wrap off and reveal that shiny new gel coat underneath is gonna be top notch. Great stuff!
Assuming the wrap comes off lol. Trying to remove wrap from a car or boat after baking in the sun for a few years isn’t fun. My buddy is a 3m certified wrap and PPF installer and he won’t touch wrap removal jobs. They hire a special company that pressure blast it off. So not only do you pay to put it on but you pay to take it off.
This is awesome. Really helpful explanation and appreciate the info on cost. Hope Wraps On Right are getting lots of business from this very well done video. Thanks!
Absolutely love this topic in the growing boat market - can you do a pro and con about recarpeting an old boat vs converting carpet floor to nonskid, vinyl, seadek or snap on? Thanks!
They come nice but if the hull has hairline cracks you need to address them before you do the wrapping because they come visible another the wrapping.another thing the wrapping with the water splash get full of drops spots .to get them off you need to polish it to become like new again
Had my boat professionally wrapped. It turned out great but I found out quickly how easy it is to scuff and tear it. Better have all hands on deck when coming into the dock/slip or putting on/off the trailer, it’s fragile and not cheap to repair. If I could do it over again I wouldn’t.
The minute you dock up to a piling, or somebody ties their boat to yours, or something like that, youve got a gash in the pretty vinyl. Looks nice though
I’ve fished on that Two Conchs Tigress boat before!! I’ll probably wrap my 30 Intrepid soon, the guy who owns the business next door to mine does that. He also said I’ll have to fill in some of the scratches and compound it first. Wraps are thinner than you think, they can show stuff underneath.
You have some dope content. So much information. I just watched about 6 of your videos and I subscribed. I'll be a new boat owner hopefully when I retire. 😉👍🏾
A really good way to preserve the gel coat without having to go through the process of compounding and polishing 2-3 times per year is to do the compounding and polishing followed by a good quality ceramic coating. Ceramic coatings even in salt water can last well over a year if applied properly using a quality product.
I have 42 Chris-Craft Commander and now its Out of Water getting new bottom paint. We are at Shelter Island San Diego. Please let me know if I have chance to get any specific info. Thank you so much
Bollocks your heating the glue up. Needs dried out chemically and sanded off like powder. If you sand or heat then sand it you are merely sanding the glue contaminants into the gell coat and you will have a hard time not getting it to show up in your finish, even primers have a tendency to overly flatten on improperly removed vinyl, silicone sealants, sanded out oil based paints and even marine adhesive filler. The secret to any work on the hull is never sand anything on till its been dissolved and doesn't smear.
Unfortunately, my 19' boat for just a single color plain wrap was quoted at $2,400 here in Honolulu, HI. Sometimes I wish I had the money to fully outfit a boat in FL and ship it here.
Bought a Nitro Bay 1900 that is White hull with the Red swoosh mid to around the stern. I did the 3M, 8 year in Matte Black over the Red. It's sexy now. White dock fendering skuffs it tho. Don't use acetone to clean it LoL.
You need to be careful if you leave the boat in a marina with another boat touching because with the fenders you can tear the rapping when the boats are going up and down

SUCH A GOOD VIDEO... I think it deserved that its creator activates SUBTITLES in all languages available on RUclips. This is ALSO clear, in Portuguese from Portugal. Only then will ALL people be able to watch and understand what is being said here, and ALSO the chances of an audience increase will be more guaranteed!!!
Hi For a better understanding of what is being said in the video, it would be good if the SUBTITLES in the various languages of the planet were activated by you on your channel. Including Portuguese from Portugal Thank you and good work
I have a 2017 350 verado and I looked into the combustion chamber to find a ton or carbon. I have 600hrs and run the engine at 3900 to 4200 (peak mpg) most of the time. Not a lot of idling. Plugs are all clean. Do you recommend or have you done a video on powerclean for a verado. I used to love ringfree by Yamaha, but just figured that was only good for 2 strokes. Engine runs great, but I would like to keep it that way. Any of your vids cover verado combustion chamber cleaning?
I would put stickers on my bmx when I was a kid. Eventually I'd pull off the stickers and the original paint was in great shape under it, but the bike was still completely finished. This seems like that
Hello I have noticed that you are an outboard expert. I have a problem with my Mercury 115 ct. In forward gear, after 4000 rpm the engine vibrates and the revs oscillate, increasing and decreasing continuously by 200 rpm. The engine is not delivering the power it should. It doesn't push the boat as it should, at most it seems to lack the 400 rpm boost. In neutral, however, it struggles to exceed 2000 rpm and immediately rises to 2500 vibrating and oscillating a lot. What's his problem in your opinion? I thank you in advance
There's not a wrap on earth that would survive even one month in the water here in Scotland with the temp variations. Not a chance! Even automotive 3 part with 2pack at every stage doesn't last a second season here. If you trailer it home every time and baby it then yeah maybe a 3rd season but top of the range wraps don't even stay on motorbikes used on the road for more than 2yr here. All the nonsense about "just peel the wrap off when it's done and you're back to bare hull" hahaha good one, as a coach/boat builder by trade who's first skill was spray painting.... I can tell you that's not the case and I'm spending hours on small 12-16ft hulls to get the old wrap junk off and the horrid discolouring it causes where you need to sand right into the gelcoat to get the original colour back and get all the glue contaminants out.
I'm looking at the company's name on the side of that boat SA. I ordered face guards from them twice and every time they only sent me two of the guards that I ordered and then they just threw in random s*** every time
Why wrap a boat if it’s the same price (or even more expensive ) than gel coating it . That wrap won’t last a season without getting torn if you go fishing a lot
I went down to a wrap place to have my hummer h2 wrapped instead of having it painted, they wanted $8,000 to wrap it..No Grapics just any 1 color, total paint job with 10 years warranty is 6.5 k, ill get it repainted, wrap not worth it for me….
I got the front of my car shrink wrapped when I bought it new. After 7 years, I got really bad cracks on the wrap, it cost me a FORTUNE to get all that shrink wrap removed and I had to get the front part of the car repainted after the wrap was finally removed. What happens is that with the heat (summer sun is super intense in South Florida) the wrap melts and bonds with the metal or the fiberglass and removing it is a ROYAL PAIN IN THE A...!!! I WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND YOU TO GET YOUR BOAT OR CAR SHRINK WRAPPED!!!! RUN!!!!
@@Cadaverine1990 That may be it, I am not sure but DO NOT expect an easy removal! You may still need to use a heat gun to remove the wrap which may require an expert's help, hence additional cost and possible damage to your paint or gel coat. Unless you want the wrap for the looks, DO NOT GET THE WRAP because it will NOT protect the paint or the gel coat, on the contrary, IT WILL CAUSE DAMAGE!
Would depend on UV protection. You can clear coat over it then cut and polish back the clear coat with trizact 3000 onto 6000 then a polish with the perfect it Ultrafine with a blue pad and that will basically cover epoxy and gelcoat without making it look too overdone. Clear coat loves sanded vynl and bare epoxy for the record.
Great video and thank you posting... I don't watch all your videos because some don’t pertain to me..... but I always appreciate you taking the time and putting them together. Thanks again Scott
I wrapped my Ranger, looked nice, but was the worst thing I could of done. A twig can shred it, and its not repairable. Imagine what fishing a tree does to it. Looks horrible now

I’m glad to see you guys are back. I was starting to get worried. I love this channel. Also the wrap on the Venture looks awesome.

You can also just put a clear wrap on your boat. Clear wraps are a lot cheaper but give you the same benefit.
The minute you dock up to a piling, or somebody ties their boat to yours, or something like that, youve got a gash in the pretty vinyl. Looks nice though

I’m wondering what the maintenance/cleaning of the wrap is………….just hosing down……or soap and water?

Great, report, Thank you. I'm getting a New 22 footer and this maybe a good option for me instead of having logos and other artwork done to the hull.
That boat rap is good for covering holes in the hull
Amazing, I love it. Where can I have more information about this? I'm improving my boat and this idea is fantastic 👏. Thanks.
We used to use rubber wheels to strip old wraps and decals at a Semi dealer.
Was just quoted a price of $3,100 for a 1998 Seapro 21' CC wrap in Conway SC. Seems quite high. $1,000 too high.
I'm in Savannah GA and was thinking about it, but it's cheaper to compound, polish and wax!
I have 42 Chris-Craft Commander and now its Out of Water getting new bottom paint. We are at Shelter Island San Diego. Please let me know if I have chance to get any specific info. Thank you so much
Try a heat shrink wrap gun and be very cautious. It works great taking any old vinyl that's cracked etc. Warms up the glue and peels right off.

Hey great video glad your posting again always great stuff still have your Loewer power sports hat have a great week
It sure looked sweet for a '99. Hard to argue against the results.
Glad you're back bro

Can you put a wrap on the hull below the waterline so you don’t need to apply anti fouling on most if not all the hull?
Great video, thanks! I wonder how possible it is to DIY a wrap?
Been a long time subscriber and have watched all your videos... You are awesome...great videos. I hope to wrap my 22' CC SeaKing.

For me the only way to go this days. You can change the look of your boat fast and at a good price, plus protect it. WIN WIN 😏😏😏😏😏👌👌👌👌👌👌
So, am I presuming you can wrap aluminum boats as well?
You need to be careful if you leave the boat in a marina with another boat touching because with the fenders you can tear the rapping when the boats are going up and down
Nice wrap, where we can buy that wrap anyway?
Great video. I knew nothing about wrapping.

what is used as sealer ? just some epoxy ?

Can I assume this would work on aluminum jons?
I find a strong smell of gasoline in the engine oil in the mercury verado 300 ch where is the problem؟
Like I said just had old blackfin painted cost tens more than rap not too many people doing warps up north

I had the same experience when quoting wraps on a 24ft boat. Wrapping should be cheaper than painting, but that does not seem to be the case.
Lot of money for a sticker. Just because it has a few marks from enjoying it won’t effect it’s use.
Would a wrap be winter proof for use in Canada?...
Something to think about great video 📹
The awesome thing about a wrap is when the Vynil fails and the body shop wants $10,000 to remove it a repair your gel coat.

Im in the process of doing my 19 foot starcraft superfisherman. Thought of buying new until the price almost gave me a heart attack.

What's the lifespan of a wrap if properly maintained ??
I was told 3-5 years, sometimes longer.
Does the clear vinyl discolor over time? Probably depends on brand and age, just wondering though

i think its a better idea to wrap the boat it looks great
*Awesome channel*
Just member wrapping a boat doesn't fix rotten floors stringers transoms motor mounts etc
Why would you paint the bottom first. Then wrap
BOAT bust out another thousand, which this video reaffirmed 🤣
Good video, thanks for sharing.. my "work boat" looks better with dings, scrapes and blemishes
Like Battle Scars on a football helmet.
Great video
No it helps get u more customers

Now make a video of someone trying to get that wrap off after 4 years.
Sorry I’m not very fan of the wraps my personal opinion.
It's way to expensive for what your getting. That is my take after quoting multiple shops for a 24ft boat.
Its easier to paint!
Pretty cheap on the paint and wrap price…
Prices are cheap imo.
