there's a combo that does massive AOE damage, R QE EE, you time the EE when they want to run away from the AOE procs from your Ultimate. In general, the guide is good for starters. One thing I could add is that Chinese player, Ziyu, 1500+ LP Super Server, and streamers like Azzap are opting to build second damage item with Horizon Focus. This not only increases Hwei's damage signicantly with Liandries, but it also give much needed CDR for the champion.
with regards to 13:25 I would recommend just using the option replace quick cast with quick cast with indicator. If you click an ability and hold it; it would show the indicator and releasing the button cast it. to cancel the casting of the ability you just right click. it takes all the pros of both regular cast and quick cast. With Hwei its an amazing tool
quick cast on indicator does slow down your combos, since the skill goes off on button release rather than button press. I would argue that using shift or crtl modifer for quick cast with indicator is a better strategy so you can still combo at max speed when you need to.
yes, dont use quick cast with indicator you gonna regret it one day. Better bind a key like "alt + Q" "alt + R" for when u need to be precise. cause the power of this champ is the combos and like said before indicator slows ur combo, delaying your inputs.

@@AnimeArtistic i meant it does less damage than smite so it's not practical especially since the cast gives long enough for the enemy to react and use a faster secure

the projectile only spawns for champions obviously, but it is blocked by minions and pets which sucks it is stupid, and i hate it, and if riot makes the ability champs only i will cry out in joy
I want to add that Hweis waveclear being efficient only starting Lv 9 is quite annoying, whereas most mages have all they need to clear at Lv 7 unlike Hwei. Maybe it'll change next season since Riot planned on buffing him, but for the time being I'd rather go Minion demat to have the proper waveclear he was supposed to have, coupled with approach Velocity that allows Hwei to switch from very large distance to being close enough to constantly cast your abilities. I also like cosmic drive on him because of how easily he can switch from mid range to long range, and helps to both chase and kite, couples with approach velocity, it really is satisfying.
He is weak but his wave clear don't start at lvl 9, they did lvl 9 on the video just to show the difference between QE alone and QE+WE. If you combo on the wave Q and W with EE you're fine.
I guess that depends on how you want to slice it? Not counting hweis passives and every aphelios gun having functionally its own passive hwei has 10 abilities and aphelios has 6. Hwei even though he can really only choose one spell for each use of basic ability will always have his full set of options to pick from at all points in the game he always can access his 10 different options. When aphelios is at 10 ammo on both his guns he technically has 5 abilities at that point cus using his current abilities will cause him to move to his next guns in rotation so you can follow up with those. (Or 8 abilities if you want to argue each version of the ult to but you’ll still only have one choice) All that long winded talk to say … technically there the same, debatably aphelios has more if you count each combo. effectively hwei has more cus aphelios can never have access to everything he can do at one time.
