I’m from glasgow and the cone on the statue is v iconic for the city, the council has taken it down multiple times and it always gets put back up by locals! He gets a Santa hat on top of the cone at Christmas sometimes 🤣
Also the uni grounds are gorgeous, there’s so much to do in Glasgow defo worth a longer visit!

You came to my city! Glasgow is lovely, hope you enjoyed it. The Duke of Wellington statue always has the cone on its head and one of the main landmarks in the city 😃 and the citizen is lovely and have a good drinks menu and is fairly Scottish so a good choice.
Loch Lomond is nice to visit but you would need a car to see it properly. In Glasgow city centre, the cathedral and Glasgow Green are worth a wee visit

You should definitely visit saltburn sometime, it’s on the east coast and has a historic vertical tram lift and lovely pier. You should try a lemon top too which is a Teesside thing (Tom should try a Parmo). Glasgow is beautiful though, I love it there so not disappointed you ended up there as final destination. I go regularly for gigs (become a little habit of mine) and it never gets old. I always find something new or exciting everytime I go. Walk along river from city to hydro is so peaceful. Me and my friend always like to be spontaneous so think we’ll definitely be using this as inspiration one day.

Race version of this challenge rules:
• Get from one place to another (e.g. Thurso to Penzance) in as little time as possible.
• Each time you get to a station with more than 1 platform, you have to roll dice and go to that platform.
• You can either get on the next train departing from that platform, or if that is not useful to you, you can roll again, but this is at the cost of a 1 hour time penalty.
• If the next train is within 5 minutes, you can choose between either that or the following train without incurring a penalty.
• If there is no train in the next hour, you may roll again with no penalty.
• If a platform has lettered sectors, you can take a train from any sector.
• At a station with more than 12 platforms, the high numbers are out of bounds meaning you cannot get a train from Clapham Junction towards Brighton.

As a lot of people are saying, you’d love the West End if you ever come back. You’ve got Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Kelvingrove Park there and they’re always worth a visit.
I went to Glasgow Uni and it’s a beautiful building with so much history. And it’s always compared to Hogwarts 😂 there’s loads of independent coffee shops and pubs/restaurants there too, like other people have mentioned.

It's always handy to have an All Line Rover at the ready for challenges like these, which gives you unlimited travel on the entire National Rail network for a week for just under £400.
I'm from Glasgow and can recommend a trip on the Subway. It's unlike any other underground and Glasweigans love it. There's also more museums in Glasgow than you can count on 3 hands. My personal favourites are the Riverside and Science museums
Ashton Lane is the place to go for food, anywhere in the West End! Xx

I walked past you on Buchanan Street and was so confused cause you hadn't posted you were in Glasgow! Glasgow is massive, you should definitely come back and explore more. Platform is such a fun place but you need to go when there's a market on. If you go back you should also go to the West End, there are so many more independent restaurants, bars, and lovely shops. The city centre is alot of chains but the rest of Glasgow is less like that

im so glad you ended up in scotland! my country! if you ever do a scotland trip again you should definitely go to edinburghs portobello beach!! or linlithgow! linlithgow is a small town with the Mary Queen of Scots castle! very historical and beautiful. you should definitely go!!!

HAHA I KNEW IT! Can recognise that Scottish coastline from Newcastle-Edinburgh from a mile off 😂 (acting like I've not just moved there and haven't only done the journey 3 times💀😂) deffo gonna have to visit Glasgow this summer! Would recommend the North East of Scotland (though perhaps I'm biased...), very unspoilt coastlines and pretty country parks etc

Food recs: Blue Lagoon (famous chippy), Stravaigin (fancy but unpretentious restaurant in the uni precincts). Also try a deep fried Mars bar! (washed down with Irn Bru)

I've just realised that with two dice it was impossible to get platform 1, just like with three it was impossible to get platform 1 or 2. the video idea is really cool but maybe something to consider if you ever do this again lol
also if you ever find yourself in Glasgow or Edinburgh again, Bread Meets Bread has a few locations in both and it's among the best sandwich restaurants I've ever been to :)
If you try this again, use a 10, 12 or 20 sided die as then it is an equal chance as opposed to 2 six sided dice which skews more towards the middle numbers and can never get 1 as a result.
I went to Glasgow around 2 weeks ago, I didn't have much time to do much whilst I was there as the whole reason I was even in Glasgow was for a concert. However, next time you find yourself in Glasgow you should visit the Cathedral and The Glasgow Necropolis. At the top of the Necropolis you do get a decent view over Glasgow (if it's sunny), although the area where I was staying was relatively nice-ish I found a lot of Glasgow to be a bit dodgy and kind of not very pleasant 😂

I'd recommend doing the NC 500 in a camper van if you do your Scotland trip but add the Isle of Skye on to it too, you will not.be disappointed. ❤❤❤

Rolling 3 dice makes it impossible to land on 1 or 2 and makes 3-5 very unlikely as there aren't many ways to get those numbers. Sorry, but needed to mention this for next time 😅
