    Yo, it's the person who made the original iceberg! It's so weird seeing this uploaded.
    I remember you asking me if you could make this video months ago, and I randomly just stumbled onto it earlier today in my recommended vids!
    I think you're doing a great job covering everyone entry, and your delivery and style of humor are really fun to watch! Can't wait for you to get to the other tiers!
    The only two things I'd like to correct were:
    1) In the theory about Stone Free having a self-preservation instinct, it was mostly based on the Johngalli A fight where the Stand was able to protect Jolyne's heart from a sniper round without her consciously reacting, as well as the introduction of the Stand where it listens in on police officers beating Ermes up without Jolyne noticing.
    2) The theory about Jotaro having autism mostly stems from him being very closed off emotional, sometimes being borderline non-reactive to intense situations, not caring about other people's feelings, and often intentionally trying to act 'cool' around other people, but coming off as cheesy. There's also a sentence Araki added in his profile from Part 3 that states he "doesn't think it's necessary to deliberately show emotions, because he assumes people can understand what he's feeling by looking at him".
    Again, just a theory, but I'm adding more evidence.
    Otherwise, keep it up! And let me know if you have any other questions about any particular theories!

      More on the whole self preservation I stint theory. I don't think it really applies to Jolyne anymore than it would to maybe trish or Giorno. The subconscious usage of a stand seems to just be par for the course for someone who has developed a stand but has yet not become aware of it.
      Like in Trisha case, Spice Girl speaks to her as a separate entity, but in every subsequent use it seems to be just an extension of her own conscious control like that of most other users.
      Now that I think of it, Mista's Sex Pistols also displays autonomous self preservation as 5 saves Mista. Maybe the reason Mista's stand is seems to be separate consciousness especially from him as opposed to other is due to his superstitious mindset. Like an overwhelming belief in luck and faith, so the control he has over his stand mirrors the control he perceives himself to have in life.
      Maybe that's why Spice Girl, Star Platinum and Stone Free act autonomously/subconsciously until their users are made aware of them. The way a stand acts in relation to their user corresponds to that users perception of their own control of their power.
      There's probably some way Koichi and Echoes Act 3 fits into this (or contradicts this.) Idk.
      Sorry for the rambling and if this general idea was already touched I in the iceberg I'm halfway through just this first video and just wanted to dump my own 2 cents as it surfaces in my brain.

    • @smproductions7141
      @smproductions7141 23 часа назад +1

      @@maxwellermeav If we consider Jotaro, Koichi, Giorno, Mista, Trish, and Jolyne; three of those Stands are fully sentient with their own personalities (Echoes, Pistols, Spice), one of them later becomes sentient (GER), one of them is an unusually powerful Stand (Star Platinum), and the remaining example is Jolyne, who is the daughter of Jotaro, thus probably is disposed to the same ability.
      It's a pretty likely thing that basically all Stands activate without the user consciously trying to use it, but in all the examples you listed (except Giorno), the Stand activates automatically to protect the user. That doesn't happen much.

    I think bites the dust isn't a Requiem stand but a Requiem ability
    Killer queen didn't change looks(The cat plant doesn't count)
    The arrow went into kira, not killer queen
    Requiem is based off how mozart made his Requiem before dieing, and Giorno was near death by the time he got it

    • @neoqwerty
      @neoqwerty 3 месяца назад +7

      Requiem was named that because the first Requiem we saw was Chariot, which embodies to a T the myth/legend about how Mozart wrote his piece after meeting "a shadowed figure in black". Giorno himself would have died without GER, but clearly he's taking the established nomenclature from the only other known Stand that evolved in that way.
      It's not the first time that Stand Users more or less extend a naming scheme from one Stand to similar ones, either by ability or by vague similarity in how it evolved. (See Jotaro taking The World (DIO's Stand's name) for naming Star Platinum's similar/identical time stop ability.)

    I just wanna say the “jotaro is neurodivergent” theory extends a lot further than his interest in marine biology, his mannerisms and personality in the series is also quite indicative of being on the autism spectrum.
    For one he's not very expressive, and his bio states that "he assumes people know how he feels, which leads to many misunderstandings". He’s very blunt and to-the-point, and as can be the most clearly seen at the start of the Sheer Heart Attack arc when he’s walking with Koichi, he is not very strong in the social cues department (not bothering to make conversation, flat out ignoring Koichi at one point). Many autistic people struggle with socializing within neurotypical spaces and often have trouble reading social cues.
    (Although maybe that’s a stretch and he could also just be a quiet person who doesn’t give a shit)
    Another thing adding onto the socializing aspect- it’s not explicitly stated, but he’s not shown to have a lot of friends prior to part 3’s events. Even after part 3 and 4, he’s not shown to have a lot of friendships besides Polnareff (relatives don’t count, and his relationship with Koichi is more mutual respect than friends) Once again, it’s common for people with ASD to prefer being alone or have trouble making friends. Keep in mind though of course autistic people can have many friends, what I’m referring to is just something that’s commonly seen among autistic ppl. Which can be said for all of the other stuff I’m mentioning too.
    Him getting mad when people are talking loudly could be interpreted as a sensory issue. I’m not gonna count the start of part 3 when the girls are fawning over him because, well, anyone would get upset at being groped and fought over. But at the start of part 4, when the girls start screaming after he punches Josuke, he yells at them to shut up, which I believe is a bit more unreasonable than the previous example. Him calling Polnareff “annoying” for simply asking for help with the menu could also be due to the fact that Polnareff is a very loud person. He also unreasonably loses his temper when the two women ask him to take a picture for them and start chattering over each other (I refuse to believe this is because he’s a misogynist).
    And finally repetitive behavior - the constant hat tipping, clenching his fist etc can be seen as stims (one of the more major characteristics of autism) even his catchprase "yare yare daze" can be interpreted as echolalia, also common among autistic individuals. He also barely changes his wardrobe, which could also indicate a desire for routine.
    I might be forgetting some examples, and I may be incorrect on some things since I myself am not autistic (at least not that I know of) but this is my personal interpretation of his character. Of course I highly doubt Araki was writing Jotaro with autism/neurodivergence in mind, and all of these traits can be easily explained outside of the story, but it’s interesting to make connections. He was definitely written to be this strong, silent, badass lone hero, and he is! But I also think interpreting his actions and personality as due to something other than just “being a badass” humanizes him a lot more. Reading deeper into a character (a lot deeper than I probably should) has made me a big fan of Jotaro, especially considering the first time I watched part 3 I thought he was very boring.
    Sorry for the essay, I really really like this character lmao. I also wrote this out before fully reading the pinned comment, oops

      I totally agree! Remember that scene with Anne though? When Jotaro was touching her chest finding out she’s a girl, he crossed boundaries with her. She was showing her discomfort and he didn’t understand. Often times, autistic people may use physical touch to understand or process things better. And they also don’t understand when someone is showing discomfort or expressing their emotions. Just a thought :)

    ain't requiem like a granted ability to help whoever used it in their time of desperation/struggles, or to counteract someone who cheats fate
    Kira had made a drastic mistake, he killed hayato, so what did he need? the reversal of that, the arrow saw he was in despair, and granted him the ability to rewind time
    (also fuck off for the frame at the end)
    giorno was outmatched by someone who cheated fate with time erase, so the arrow gave him the ability to nullify changes in time, which basically made king crimson just red punchy man,
    another point I'd like to bring up
    Pucci's made in heaven ability is probably tied to jotaros time stop ability. We know that fate is like a force in jojo, and it cannot be cheated through normal means. Dio constantly avoided attacks and cheated death multiple times with time stop - he cheated fate - so jotaro was given the ability to stop time, which dio clearly didn't have experience with moving in others stopped time. Jotaro used stop time multiple times in part 4 and 6 to cheat death most notably in part 4s failed bites the dust scene, where he stops time where Kira was so close to detonation, cheating his fate if getting rewound. Pucci's goal of having a universe where everyone knows their fate could be a big reason why mih even exists, but mih has time speedy upy, which makes timestop near useless, as he has like 2 seconds to do anything. Jotaro cheated fate, fate gave Pucci the ability to nullify timestop, jotaro is killed, dio cheated fate, fate gave jotaro the ability to stop time for an advantage, dio is killed.

    The Diavolo part is very interesting. Especially how his backstory sounds more like an urban legend. Which makes sense, since Diavolo wants to practically be invisible to society. Doppio couldve been developed with his obssesion of staying in the shadows and Doppio acts as him hiding in plain sight, since he looks younger and looks like a grunt serving Diavolo.

    Bites the Dust might be a requiem ability because it reflects its user's deepest desire but cranked up to a hundred. Kira wanted to keep killing women but to be never found out - and Bites the Dust gives him exactly that.
    After all, Silver Chariot requiem had a crazy mind-swapping and stand controlling ability - nothing to do with its original basic fencing ability.

    While requiem stands are more like evolutions like in Pokémon where a Charmeleon evolves into a Charizard. They unlock new abilities, and their old abilities become stronger.

      It's more so that when Dio died the cells that were placed in other's bodies [vampire cells] mutated into their own thing overtaking the body, hence why the food can't cure him. Not just a few, every cell in the body. I assume because of how vampires can regenerate in the the show this effectively created this rapid healing in a way that nothing cure nor kill these mutated cells. Keicho implied to have tried many things to kill their father, but nothing worked, hence needing a powerful stand.

      His Appearance
      The common comparison for Mikitaka to being an Nordic Alien. He follows all the definitions of one which is: fair skin and blonde hair. While he doesn't fill the whole criteria of having blue eyes and being 6-7 feet tall, there is at least a possibility of variation of those aliens.
      Also his pin are in the shape of an UFO, a star with 'E. T' inscribed, and an infinite 8 around a star and moon. Each both have to do with ufology and general space terminology. The UFO is pretty self-explanatory since that specific shape is iconic for being related to extraterrestrials. The 'E.T' means
      'Extraterrestrial' which means being not from earth (and also a reference to the movie of the same name). And also that Infinity sign could possibly mean solar day possibly.
      Another detail could be that he has pointed compared to everyone else. Giving him the slight appearance of an elf expressed by some fans. However, this isn't good enough evidence since Jolyne's lawyer exist; he has pointed ears and he's considered human within the text of SO.
      And the chain from his nose and ears seem to just be a design choice.
      Overall, with all the references to aliens and terminology to it. The idea for Mikitaka begin an alien gets a point.

      --------
      His Behaviours
      When we first get introduced to Miki, was in a crop circle, asleep. Which visually is already a point for the alien side. He also wakes up in a weird way, dramatically zooming straight up and then turning to Okuyasu and Josuke nonchalantly.
      Also when he ask where he is, and Oku replies with "In a field in Grape Hills in Morioh"; he then bluntly states: " So, this is Earth. "
      This is already a clear sign that there's something different about him. That and the phrasing of 'Earth' makes him unfamiliar with the place. Though if he's a stand user, he could be joking around like what Oku and Josuke assumed.
      But Miki continues to do more things that counter that thinking...
      For example, he continues to go on about how he's not from here. Like explaining that he went unconscious for '13 Earth hours.' Or explaing that he's from 'The Magellanic Clouds'. All things that he mentions as fact. Which Oku and Josuke slowly grow unnerve of this.

    • @Thefoop
      @Thefoop 3 месяца назад

      Then when Josuke gives him tissues for his wound, he eats it. And thanks Josuke for them. Thus weirding out Oku and Josuke itno leaving.
      There's also things like mentioning he's a intergalactic pilot, having weapons on him that he left in his spaceship, accepting the label of 'alien', coping Oku's movements, and his bag that seems to summon things (Ex. Ice Cream).
      With all of this, you can still believe that he's pulling the two teens legs or something, including the part of keeping his saucer a secret. But once Okuyasu accuses Miki of lying, he gets defensive. Which if you think he was joking, that when Oku assumes this, that he would drop his act.
      But he doesn't…
      Plus the added fact that he's sensitive to the sound of sirens on firetrucks; to the point he start gettting hives makes certain things clear.
      He's being dead serious about being an alien.
      So with all things considered.
      With him being serious with his claims, doing very usual things than a normal person would, and the way he talks gives another point to the Alien.
      Unless He's really good at joking.

    He cheated on Suzie with Josuke's mom and while we'll never know the circumstances that lead to it. However, anyone claiming he's a neglectful person, clearly do not understand his character.
    He risked his life for not only Holly, but all the Stardust Crusaders. Even though he trusts his companions, he always puts himself in danger before anyone else unless it's out of his control. It's why he accepted to play Darby after Polnareff got his soul taken away.
    In Part 4, Jotaro explained that Joseph only found out about Josuke through documentations and he was willing to give a third of his wealth to him, which Josuke declined. Joseph also bled without a second thoutght for the baby, which Josuke respected him for, as he's not as bad as he initially thought.

    • @Renotaraa
      @Renotaraa 3 месяца назад +3

      Yeah, I also feel like people who keep saying he neglected Josuke forget that he litteraly didn't know Josuke existed, and Jotaro says the first thing he does after learning about Josuke is try to get a picture of him with Hermit Purple. He was banned from coming to Morioh because he wasn't fit for battle anymore, but the second another opportunity came up he immediately went because he wanted to see Josuke.
      Also in the manga there's more info that Tomoko did not try to contact Joseph about her pregnancy because she knew he was married. And given that Joseph as a businessman is well known enough that Koichi in japan has heard about him. Tomoko definitely didn't want to get caught in the middle of high profile drama.

    So the beetle arrow in Part 5 is actually irrelevant to the creation of a requiem stand. any stand arrow can do it and nowhere is it stated that only the beetle arrow can do it in fact it's unique appearance is pretty much not even acknowledged and it likely just looks different because it's important to the plot and to differentiate it from the arrow Polpo had to avoid confusion

    When it comes to the Doppio being the original one, would it not be obvious that Doppio IS the original (at least based on appearances) since we see him as a baby and the baby clearly has brown eyes which matches Doppios eyes but not Diavolo who has green ones? I know it's a very small thing but still is it not also important to think about their different appearances as well.

    • @Unhappytimeaper

      it's only because of old concepts where Araki originally wanted Giorno to be a crossdressing woman [woman dressed as a man, but even then Giorno wouldn't have been trans since that is something different], but later changed it due to others telling him at the time they weren't sure a fem protag would sell well within the shounen spaces. It doesn't help people consistently confuse Giorno's origins with Anasui who gets similar comments. While the headcanon I don't really care about it's because of these reasons people often spread the information as being a theory or grounded in reality, which it really is just concept vs final production.

    The beatle arrow has no significance as shown in many instances all the arrows are exactly the same, like you said a requiem stand is only created when the stand gets pierced by the arrow not the user

  • @Unhappytimeaper
    @Unhappytimeaper 3 месяца назад +1

    I think Bites the Dust is conceptually what requiems would become without having to fully delve into how they work incase the concept doesn't stick or wanted to change how it works later on without having to fully ret-con the ideas. Yet, none of this is to say the ideas the BTD weren't the start of what was to become requiems as it still was created by an arrow, at Kira's lowest moment/moment of desire, and gave an ability that the user could utilize. It was a safe way to toy with the concepts but not have to go all in if he or readers didn't like it, while still adding to the story.
    Also Doppio's segment honestly shows you did like, no research on DID let alone understanding Doppio or Diavolo's backstory. For context, DID is yes, not well represented but none of this is to say there isn't some reality still added in. See, the birth story of Diavolo is meant to be supernatural likely for certain ideas such as soul dualism but also because we aren't meant to understand Diavolo. Nevertheless, as a child he was described as timid and not that smart which fits more into the idea of Doppio over Diavolo, with the only descriptor fitting Diavolo being that as a kid he was 'frank.' Throughout these scenes, even the appearance was closer to Doppio than Diavolo being more-- but going back to DID alters are founded to protect the core. Likely what happened was when his mother came looking for him as a young child, aka when DID is most set to form, Diavolo was formed in attempt to protect Doppio thus creating him as an alter. I likely doubt Diavolo even if young would have been so careless but Doppio genuinely makes sense to fall in love and promise to return, but Diavolo wouldn't follow through. When the priest found his mother's body, the alter took control once again as protection of the core and killed everyone in means of self protection. Furthering alignment to actual DID the core is the one to often face a more amnesia like state after alters take over sometimes not even knowing they have the alter; which would fit more as Doppio think he is communicating with the boss as a separate entity not himself [which is internal]. DID in this case isn't the best representation, but it really doesn't seem like it has no space without being tied into other concepts. It's clear at least beyond the character has more mental health issues going on to create the level of obsessiveness to protect themselves, but Doppio being the host fits narratively much better.
    In personal take ignore that Joseph was becoming more senile in part 4 ignores the narrative of what part 4 Joseph is meant to be. Joseph is inherently a flawed protagonist, seen many times which doesn't make him bad but does make him more than Johnathan or Jotaro. His cheating and disconnection now to other family seems to play a role in parts of this, Joseph being senile highlights moreso the lack of what is happening around him as things continue to change. By no means could be have not been playing it up because honestly that seems more like something he'd find funny but narratively it's not until Joseph is finally able to find that fulfillment in his life through becoming a father again and getting to work on his mistakes in the past does he manage to gain more lucidity. Joseph always strives to be better, it's one of his better traits that we see throughout ever part but it's also a flaw that Joseph unless pushed tends to fall stagnant; needing others to often create that push for him to want to be better. So, of course when Shizuka is more grown up in part 6 that senility would likely start to come back. Also, other comments have mentioned Joseph wasn't necessarily an absent father because he wanted to he just literally didn't know Josuke existed.
    Okuyusa not just swiping away the father is because neither of them know how the stand works or where things go. It's unclear if they are deleted or just displaced and how they would affect you know. A mutated vampire-human who's cells rapidly regenerate. Keicho comes off as wanting to be certain his father is put to rest and dead, the reality is what Keicho is doing might be morally wrong and he isn't good but still comes from parts of his goal being an act of mercy against his father and wanting to protect his brother.

    I think rather than a potential marine life hyperfixation, the theory of Jotaro being neurodivergent mainly connects to his social interactions with others. His reserved nature, and his more subdued or blunt ways of expressing his feelings.
    When showed his backstory, despite having a somewhat normal childhood he seemingly struggled a lot with forming meaningful connections outside of his family until he met the Stardust Crusaders.
    He has a lot of love for his friends and family but seemingly has issues expressing it properly.
    It could imply a possible underlying neurodivergence, or it could be developments from other factors in his life.

Once you get knees deep in a persona like that you can't really do a 180 without throwing people off and have them scratching their heads. Anything after part 3 is scars left from the fight with Dio. Remember that in between parts 3-6, Jotaro is constantly getting hunted by Pucci's subordinates and still kicking their asses. Plus having a wife and kids and not being able to settle, it takes a toll on a man.

    No, the Bites The Dust ability makes sense for a requiem. The whole point of Bites The Dust is to stop Hayato and Jotaros crew. The arrow only gives you the ability to do whatever you desire, SCR getting the arrow away from everyone, GER stopping king crimsons ability, so BTD would make sense.

  • @daboring1
    @daboring1 18 дней назад

    i kinda subscribe to the theory that bites the dust is a requiem, because the stand is the user and the user is the stand so there's no real diffrence
    and what a requiem does is give a stand the ability of what the user desires most at the moment, like with polnareff who wanted to keep the arrow away from diavolo and giorino who wanted a counter ability to diavolo, before kira got the arrow he panicked about being caught by the josuke crew and really regretted killing haiato and wanted to do it all over again, so bites the dust granted him that thus its a requiem

  • @dannynelson3150

    the theory about doppio makes a lot more sense realistically if you consider doppio to be the original personality, I did an essay about it for psychology once but basically DID can really only be caused by trauma before the age of like 6 years old and I believe being born in a prison and being separated from his mum would have done that. You see him living a normal life with his adoptive father until one day he meets his mum again as a teen and this is the event that floods all the trauma that he had blocked out from his infant years back into his brain. This was likely what caused the split and this is the time he buries his mum alive and then sets his entire town on fire to cover his tracks, I'd like to think that event is the birth of DIavolo. When looked at in the context of DID and what is known about it it is far more likely that the personality experiencing memory loss and blackouts is the original or core personality and that another one forms overtop to protect the original from similar trauma by being stronger and more ruthless or hiding and avoiding it that way. In a psychological context, Diavolo has such a tight grip on everything around him in an attempt to control the entire world just so that doppio never has to experience the trauma that he once did again. It's basically an exaggerated defense mechanism of doppios brain and I think It's super interesting how it was written.

    • @dannynelson3150
      @dannynelson3150 День назад

      Oh and as for the age thing I believe doppio is portrayed in a childlike way due again to the fact that he is being protected by diavolo and that doppio still acts and is stylized as the age that he suffered the split event because from that point on his alter ego took over. This is less scientific and more symbolic in my mind but makes for such an interesting character.

    Ehhhhhh... Sorta? The thing is, a Requiem Stand appears when a Stand is pierced by the Arrow. Kira was pierced a second time. I think it's more likely that it forced Killer Queen to evolve a new ability based on what Kira wanted in that moment.

Every phenomena, ability, and seemingly “bizarre” part of the show has a basis in quantum mysticism, especially as it gets further along. Alien Mikitaka doesn’t fit into that mold super well, but that could also mean I’m wrong about Araki’s vision with the series - to explain the truth behind every anomaly in our world.
