I went to Montreux last year. It's absolutely beautiful. The duck house was never purchased by Freddie. Freddie owned an apartment at the east end of the lake that was pointed out to me when I went on a Freddie tour. Roger also stayed at Duck House so called because of the wooden ducks that the owner had all over the house. I took the boat tour a couple of times on Lake Geneva and went to see Charlie Chaplin's house in Vevey. It's very interesting. Thanks for the video!
You are so extremely Lucky to be meet Freddie and be in his presence...all I do is think deeply of him and his friends , his life , Mary ....My mind goes very deep in thought that I feel him somewhere near me and his home surroundings...very strange...very real, but good to get that close....

Thanks for posting mate , loved the video on queen. I was recently in London and stopped by Freddie’s garden lodge and it was a really cool place to visit as well .
Freddie's home in Montreux was fun and nice where they would practice .,why why did he have to pass away...miss seeing his great performance...and music.
Thank you for your video. I always love seeing more about Queen and Freddie ❤️. You made an interesting and good quality video. Thank you for sharing this ❤️
The keyboard was moved down stairs as Beloved Freddie was too ill to go upstairs. Did you see a plaque which was put over the new carpet that had been fitted in the studio. Brian told Freedie "no smoking in here" as you can imagine Freddie's reply was" f**k you") Spent many happy times in Montreux. We used to have our CD player at his statue bottle of Moet Champagne. Put our red roses on the microphone and roses on the statue itself. Christmas so beautiful in Montreux. September was very special obviously because it was his birthday was 5th. I was so lucky to have met Freddie's Mum Jer and I got my beautiful picture signed by her. That was a special day. I also havd Freddie's Live Aid Belt. Jim Hutton presented me with it at the Queen Convention. What a fantastic day that was too. Jim was a great guy and you could see why Freddie loved him. No one will ever take Freddies place he was unique brilliant talented young man. God bless you Freddie never be forgotten.
Freddie only rented the Duck House when he visited Montreaux. He did eventually buy a top floor apartment in a building called La Tourelle which Queen Manager Jim Beach found for him.
Just found your video, excellent quality. If there was anywhere to Clear your head from the world this is one of the places. Freddie and the guys must have really loved their time here. RIP Freddie…
Thank you very much Mr. Jones for this lovely video! I'm in The United States and always wished that I could have gone to Montreux. It's very beautiful, and I would love to see more of where Freddie and Queen went while in Montreux. Have you heard the news about Mary Austin? She announced 2 weeks ago, an Auction and is selling 1,500 items of Freddie's. I don't know if Mary is sick, because she said that all of Freddie's possessions are going be sold. Because she needs to get her life in order. She said she's only keeping personal gifts that Freddie gave her. Very sadly, Garden Lodge will evidently be sold, and will not be a Museum. I do believe that Mary is sick, because Freddie had in his Will, that Mary could live in Garden Lodge for 50 years. She's resided there going on 32 years, since Freddie passed away. Take care and thank you again. From Illinois USA 🇺🇸 May 9, 2023
Hey, great video. I don't think he bought Duck House though (that was rented through earlier periods), He bought a penthouse apartment further down the road in Territet prior to him passing away.
Enjoyed your video, thanks for sharing. We’re going back to Montreux in October, and we were going to walk from Montreux to the house but taking the train might be better? Do you have address so we can put in our GPS or can you give directions from the train station? Thanks for your assistance. It was nice to see what we’ll be able to see. Montreux is a magical place. Love visiting there.
I didn't know all that was Freddie's house I thought he only owned the apartment behind the statue in yellow the top penthouse, I didn't know he brought all. That and I thought he funded the duck House to have restored? You've told me something I didn't know looks kinda familiar the duck House view ❤️😊
Nice video sir but as others have pointed out, Freddie only rented duck house. It’s actually available to rent to the public should anyone fancy treating themselves.

Magnum recorded at Montreaux too - in 1986, the album was produced by Roger Taylor.

It's exactly that.
Unfortunately, some of these documentaries are so wrong.

So nobody lives in that house ?
You can rent it from Booking.com etc
What is your accent? Liverpool?
North Wales. But the Liverpool accent was influenced by all the Welsh people that moved there, so you weren't far off
