Adobe Illustrator Tutorial - Create Custom Typography (HD)

How to create your very own custom 3D text effect in Adobe Illustrator CC.
Hi, everyone and welcome back to my channel! In today's tutorial I will teach how to easily create your own 3D text effect in adobe illustrator.
This video is perfect for beginner designers getting to know the program and also more advanced designers who would like to know a little more about custom type in Illustrator. I will show you step by step how to outline your text, unite the shapes using the pathfinder and most importantly how I use the blend tool to create the 3D effect. I will then show you how to apply colours and shadows with the gradient tool using colours from my colour palette. And finally I will show you how I use the drop shadow feature to give it that stylish 3D effect.

Great tutorial, beautiful artwork and really easy to follow along (this will of course depend on how familiar one is to the software, but I reckon beginners shouldn't have much difficulty in understanding the basics since u explain really well) After saying this, I am having a little trouble after the Offset step though ... doesn't seem to work the same for everyone, I went through the comments hoping to find a tip regarding this with no luck (loved the "dislike" comment of the troll here btw.. super helpful 🙃😮‍💨) if you could help us out would be great! keep up the good work dude

@@makagisoOnce you unite the path there is nothing to ungroup. When it’s united it’s one piece. I’m not sure where in the process you got stuck...it’s possible Dom used expand and not unite...you would need to ungroup after the expand command.
