Was the military mobilisation for conscripts in Yakutia disproportionate compared to other provinces?
I’m from a tropical country that hasn’t experienced winter and it’s fascinating to see how people live in a season we don’t have.
☺️
Which tropical country do you come from?
Oh gosh! I wish I lived tropical. I’m in Canada and it’s starting to get cold. My body does NOT like the cold!
indonesia? philippines?

Is no one going to talk about Dmtri's flute? It sounds beautiful and he makes It himself. Amazing.
and self taught from books!?! So impressive

I appreciate the "Winter is coming" line, then having the GOT theme song played on the flute after. Well played.
I loved this - so amazing that this piece of culture is all around the globe!
jesus fucking christ all you people got from that video is your fucking got meme reference
That show really was known all over the world, crazy. Too bad they butchered the last season.
Exactly! It was such a good surprise! 😍
Well played indeed!
I live in Quebec, Canada and there is just something I love about winter. It's almost romantic. Going out in the cold, doing something that needs to be done then coming back to a warm home, enjoying the warmth.
Yeah that's like making love with the life, you know, going in and out xD
The fact that he doesn’t cut trees to get the wood that he needs but only cut the ones that has already fallen. ❤
Ye it's called being lazy
@@brianminsk8 it’s because the wood is dead and already dried out. He can’t make a flute out of a freshly cut branch.

@@rhuttrho88 that’s true, but just because they’re more trees doesn’t mean it better. Which type of trees? Native ?invasive ? Are they allowed to grow to maturity ? Or just for industry ? Is the rest of the ecosystem well maintained ? Are they healthy ??
Love the Game of Thrones theme!
I’m a professional classical flutist here in the US. Wonderful to see how Dmitri’s flutes are handmade-they sound great!
Hi
Makes you appreciate running water and indoor plumbing
I just thought to myself, “I could have swore the winter season just ended in Yakutia recently.” Spring is only a blip on the radar in your country. WOW😊
Is no one going to talk about how he fluted the GOT theme 😍😍😍😍
Spring?
Summer is that blip
Well, not really "in country". In parts of a giant country, the biome is really diverse since it is literally is so long.
@@1johnnygunn it's 3 months long
They only get 3 months to prepare for winter 🥶
We also used wood for additional heat in our home in Canada. The coldest I have experienced in my home town is - 55c. You can tell it is cold when the snow makes a sqeaky sound under your feet when you walk. I really enjoy the Village videos. This is how people are supposed to live, with nature, and in harmony with families. 😊 thank you.
Lowest I have seen was in South Dakota new years night it was -45 F (-42C)
Worst I've experienced is like -40C, although that tempature is rare where I live
Worst I've had is like 20F haha. Washington state
I was in Banff, Alberta last February. It was -34c my first night there and my eyelashes froze walking to my hotel haha. I’m from southern British Columbia, and the coldest it gets here is -20c. The cold in Alberta is different though, it eats right through your skin. I love it though, it makes you feel alive.
@@daninsv -40 is the same in Celsius and Fahrenheit. But celsius is better because metric is better
One thing that I find incredible about their lives in Yakutia is how often they HAVE TO go outside into the freezing cold just to perform daily routines, like getting food from the cellar (it's undergound, in another building), or collecting drinking water (they have to melt ice), or going to the toilet and taking a shower (it's an outhouse).
This keeps you on your toes)
Greetings from Ireland. I love your channel. I am in a wheelchair and have nerve damage so I hate the cold physically now, but loved it before this. Hope you and everyone in Siberia have a great, happy and healthy winter. ❤️ 🇮🇪

Gorgeous. The video is beautifully produced, and the family seem lovely. Dmitry's flutes are incredible; what a talented man.

Seeing Dimitri do the fist bump with his and your son with the finger movement while pulling away from it afterwards was really something. Even in the Siberian Wilderness, with the internet it tickles me to see that he's aware of such things and does it with his son. Wholesome. There's a lot of good and bad that comes with people consuming the same kind of things online, and it's nice to see the good. I really like how you're utilizing the internet to inform people about your culture, environment, and daily life, and that you're also using it to benefit your family financially and I'm sure also your community.
Blessings to you and your family.
We were doing that long before the internet was even a thought. That has been passed down for decades, if not centuries. Lol
It's cute how kids today think they are the ones to have created content, and pass it along the internet as new.
I am from a country with a tropical climate, Indonesia. There are only two seasons here, dry and rainy. I like cool and cold temperatures, but when the rainy season came, I would always catch a cold. It was torturous. Can't imagine how strong you guys are there. Hope you are healthy and all affairs are smooth.
But even so I still like cold.
The animals have always blown my mind. Dogs and cattle just able to survive the -50 temps. Insane
The flute people always find ways to bring beauty into the world
Your videos offer a sense of comfort and calm. Life in your city seems laid back. It seems like a place where people value family and community more than other material aspects. Greetings from India :)
No need for fridge while having a cellar in the all year round frozen land. Getting your own water entirely from ice, making your own fire. Yes, that is what people do in Sibiria, my relatives confirm. Thanks for the cranberry drink reminder, best imuno boost. Dmitry and Natalia are unique and authentic people, same as this video. Thank you, Kiun.
As someone who makes music with computers, I am deeply humbled 😊Thanks for sharing the very inspiring story of Dmitry 🙏
So you don't REALLY make music as such than.!

I was wondering why there hasn't been any new videos uploaded. I enjoy your content and watch them here in San Diego, California. Hope all is well with you and your family. Thanks again for sharing the experiences of Yakutia with us. I will be looking forward to seeing another video in the near future.

@@KiunB Can I ask so what do you do if someone has an injury or sick or something? Do you have medicine and doctors? Also that lady had to go downstairs to her freezer to get food, what if she lives alone and becomes too old to go down the stairs? Will she just be left to starve?

When Dimitri was playing his flute, I was thinking to myself “what I wouldn’t give to have one of those.” Looks like I know what I’m doing with my next paycheck lol
As someone who takes the absolute hottest of showers, I don’t think I would survive very long here. These people are amazing. When she put that ice water on that baby’s face I shivered. 😂
You would enjoy banya then.
Hi
I wonder why these people even live there. Like what is the point of living this hard and unpleasant life ? Why not go live where it's warm.
Moving there and trying to enjoy it might be hard, but growing up with rich traditions and the love and warmth of a family might make it seem magical forever. You’re essentially earning your existence every day by keeping yourself alive. It has to be fulfilling in a sense, especially if you already have positive associations with the work because your family did together so peacefully and happily.
I live in Scandinavia, not nearly as cold here, we get -10 degrees in winter at most with an average of 0 degrees, but I winter bathe when its snowing here and take cold showers reguarly, I think embracing the cold is really healthy for the human organism
That guy with the flute is surely multi-talented 👏
The man played some classics with his flutes😮 and all self-taught?! Amazing!
Their winter makes Massachusetts winter look like summer
Of course it does they are at a higher latitude which makes it colder
I'm from India🇮🇳🇮🇳....... I'm really amazed to see your life in that tropical region......
I sure wish I could take a few days off and hide in such a peaceful, charming place!💙

Really? You’re bringing someone to haul your water, chop your wood and carry away your garbage and sewage? You sure won’t be having any bubble baths and probably no shower

Amazing videos!
It's incredible how adaptable human beings are, to be able to live in such extremes.
On a much less grand scale, I grew up in the Northwest of England, winters averaged 2-3c usually, a bad winter was -1c and a slight sprinkling of snow, that never really stuck. One winter, I moved to Scotland - and even at that short distance apart, the difference in weather, and how the body copes with it, was astonishing. Temperatures down to -13c, feet of snow (usually just several inches but I moved just before two consecutive bad winters hit) and winter weather in general, was longer than in England. I seriously struggled. I was in my twenties and developed chilblains - the doctor I saw told me she had never seen them 'in person' before. My lungs burnt and ached just breathing in the cold air. It took me about 5 years/winters how to cope better, but also until my body just got used to the difference in climate.
How on earth these people do it, I'll never know. Major respect to them.
В эти трудные времена ваши видеоролики и быт народа Саха согревают.Спасибо KiunB!👍

"Winter is coming"....looks like it already arrived.
I love watching these videos in the middle of a sweltering summer. It's May, and already we've seen 80° F, here in the northeastern part of the US.
I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed that she wasn't "alone". I am 60 and live in a little village in Canada (about 900 people total) and do strictly wood heat, but do have running water and electricity. I have been hand shoveling about 400 feet of driveway plus walking paths the last number of years, but this year am finding it too difficult so am hiring someone so I only need to do the paths. The longest I shoveled in one day was about 14 hours. The snow just kept coming and coming! I also still work. It's a lot all by myself.
I hope you're doing well and wishing you strength and good health. May God bless you❤
It's always a happy day when you post a video! Спасибо!
