The Samsung 360 has a decent camera. But it was super fun seeing you use this method! I feel a camera and a gimbal will be far more better? It's day #2 with me learning about Photogrammetry.
I've been flying a Mavic 2 Pro drone over 3yrs now just thinking it was used for Photography and Videography but now I stumbled on this and in just 2 days
I think the big problem is lack of resolution. So much more fidelity even with a consumer camera when dedicating more pixels to 10x10 feet area or better close up..
When you record.... Little Slow and fix speed limit...cover more area... Then good result..
Sooooo long for? Notting? Start with the results and to right to the point then explain your process, tks for the vid
I probably wouldn't pick a 360 camera for such an outside location. For indoors and tighter spaces it can be very handy compared to a DSLM or DSLR.
It's all about pushing the limits!
I know that Metashape Pro has direct spherical image support
Great video! Keep going!
Thanks!
Have you done this within structures successfully? Thanks!
It's a bit tricky right now and sensitive to the technology you are using. Will be some time before someone nails it.
How can I know evrey cube's geographic location?
This is provided in the software. You can export the camera positions.
at the very least it's a great reference to measure distance and height of your scene. You can create the scene with primative shapes and at least have an interactive reference.
try again in closed place and maybe smaller place like a room as test
if you did that kindly replay the new video link on my comment
I am quite certain it would be worse. Flat textured walls would cause all kinds of issues. I have tried but it depends what your indoor environment is like.
maybe a different engine could handle it better.
What would be amazing is an app that could build a precise 3d environment live, combining the lidar and video from an iPhone.
So far the apps i've tested rely too much on the lidar to apply the photos as mesh, i think they should use lidar only to correct where conflicts arise.
could you just export the 360 images into 6 sides ,so they could just be six images.
What a great video! hope you'll make more on the same topic
I would like to ask you a question which is related to the position of each point, is it georeferenced? can we take real measurement ? if yes then can you guide me on how to do it? i'm working on the same project so it would be very helpfull to get at least an idea of how i can start doing it
btw, I'm actually using a tool that has 5 cameras and gps/ins , called Leica Pegasus:Backpack ((maybe that can help you understand more what i'm going through while suggesting something .. Thank youu
I know the Pegasus Backpack and you could use the individual images and some photogrammetry software. I don’t think they are panoramic cameras but they likely stitch the images to create a pano image. In that case, you need not bother with the pano images and just use the raw images that come out of the cameras. If you want to learn more, I am having a free photogrammetry week, www.ai2-3d.com/photoweek April 6-8, 2021 form 4pm eastern each day.
@@3Dforensics well, the images will get stitched automatically and create a panoramic image as a result, with only the half tour that is properly shown in the image (the rest of the 180° is not shown, cause it wasn't taken).. Doesn't this case apply to mine too? I will make sure to assist to the webinar, thank you so much for the invitation
@@imaneakr9207 So long as you have overlapping images, you may find that you can create 3D models from them.
A parking lot!? Haha why not do the inside of a building?
Inside rooms have to deal with “flat wall colours” and there is a lot more random texture outdoors. I expect a typical home with evenly painted walls to be a lot more problematic.
@@3Dforensics makes scenes. Is the program you use free?
@@tlc12070 There is a free version of 3DF Zephyr but I don’t know if 360 imagery can be processed in the free version. I think it may but only to a limit of 50 photos and each panoramic image counts as 6 images when they are deconstructed.
