Because of you, I now engage in makeup playtime! I was inspired to swatch all of the colors in a lipstick gift set I received for Christmas. I assumed that I wouldn't like several of the colors. Watching you swatch your make-up colors made me aware that the color in the tube does not always look like the color on my lips. I was pleasantly surpised that I now have several new colors that look great on me (if I do say so myself)!
A tip for the Thrive mascara: because it’s tubing, you can’t do more than one coat, buuuuuuuut you can build build build on the first coat and it can get pretty splink-splinky that way!

I’m a lot older than you are, however you are helping me with resisting buying more stuff. I also have a love for beautiful things, but since finding your channel I have been trying to use what I have cause I have a lot. So so true on the fear of layering. That moment reminded me of when I saw Bob Ross talk about "it's okay to cover up your favorite painted flower with a leaf". Also, the sunset look really does read best on the eyes when I see them in zoomed out RUclips mobile format 😊

I have enough high-quality natural hair brushes to do my eye makeup in every conceivable way, but I really like having some decent synthetic brushes around for bold, colorful mattes because I won't care if they get stained and because sometimes I WANT the attributes of a synthetic brush, in that they don't pick up as much product. For face brushes, there are really high end brushes that have hair that shouldn't get wet or sticky or anywhere near creams, so I reach for synthetic brushes there as well. It's always useful to find out about synthetic brush sets that are decently made for those reasons.

That's it EXACTLY! If I don't have the ND palette, I want to dupe it from my singles. I duped Love last year and panned my dupe palette and ended up buying the Love palette on sale to replace my dupe palette because there were some shades I panned in my dupe palette I couldn't (or wouldn't - depotted J* palette) replace. But I used that to death for easily 10 months. And since I heavily treat Natasha palettes as collections of singles, it was a better investment for me than trying to find new shades.
Hi Hannah, thank you for another wonderful adventure. I got a tiny bit stuck after you described the Jason Wu lip balm as "tenacious", for 2 reasons. First, only you (of all the influencers i watch, at least) have this delectable poet's vocabulary for the mundane. Second, i kept saying "The Tenacious B!" To myself. B for balm, of course. I've actually been shopping my stash weekly for palettes for the last month. It's great, I've been renewing my love for makeup that I know is good but that I wasn't always very inspired to use. This last week or so, eyeshadows that that I spent over 100 dollars to replace because I know they are a great foundation for my collection (Dose of Colors 5 pans.) I've really been enjoying using them and just 2 weeks ago I had little to no desire to use them.
I’ve never bought an eyeshadow palette but you’ve inspired me to start a collection of singles from indie brands. I resisted ordering a lot at once and only bought two so that I could get to know them and build my collection over time. They’re arriving in a week and I can’t wait to play around with them.
Singles are the best! My collection is built of singles and they only premade palette I have is one little elf bite size one. I love that now with maybe about 60 to 70 singles, I'm not exactly sure, that I can dupe the vibes of most things I want. I dont even need every single green I have because a couple dupe themselves which was a mistake but I love green.
My start into makeup was my roommate in Korea giving me 3 really good single eyeshadows. Even just having a few good shadows can really change your makeup game.

I've had some conversation about the fact the bronze palette doesn't really contain bronze but is made to achieve a bronze godess kind of look. I think that is where the sunset vibe is coming from

I've been hardcore blush/bronzer/highlight layering after catching up on a lot of old Kackie videos. Fjords into sunsets, with a brief pause for my very favorite no mascara Marie Antoinette look (which is definitely inspired by some of your year one monochromatic all makeup from an eyeshadow palette look). Aha! I have the bronze palette pulled for this week. I'm going to use it this morning for a boring a dreaded court hearing. Also, side note, I have a travel size of the Lancome setting spray and it works better than ANYTHING I've tried to get cream products to set down and last. I don't know how I discovered it except I randomly decided to spray my face with it after doing a cream look and everything stayed locked in place. Like talked on my phone for a 45 minute work call, no transfer in place. Which is always the huge issue with glossy cream cheeks. I do a look and then end up on a call and feel all of my makeup stamped on my phone.
This look is beautiful but also I really appreciated your commentary about using what you already own. I think we intuitively know what kinds of items we prefer and the new stuff clouds our opinions of what we already own. Like you said, we should instead be seeing new stuff as inspiration to dig in deeper to what we already have. Thanks Hannah!

I like that distinction that you made with the makeup brushes. Some people may not want to purchase the Rephr brushes. People may feel pressure to purchase additional brushes because they are such a good deal. I feel that you covered both sides of the coin in such an elegant manner.

The thing is that 2 shades that look like purple in Alterego palette, in reality are brown when you're swatching them. I need to add some purple to my looks with ND Bronze palette and see where it takes me 😁

I have the Thrive mascara and when I'm on it I use the lancome lash primer first then as that is still setting I go right in with the thrive bc then I get both volume and length!

I got the artemis palette in December and that's all the orange and copper eyeshadows I would ever need I think so I could dupe the bronze palette too if I wanted to 😊
This is the video I was wanting. I just bought a group of glittery, transparent, cool and pastels shadows just for this purpose. Largely because the gold bronzey looks that I like just seem out of place here in the cold, grey, winter of New England, where I'm from. And I thought this would be an interesting way to make a more "warm" color schemes more "winter" appropriate. I also like having a glittery veil like a layer of snow sparkling on pavement on a super cold day.....Ya, I get a lot of inspo from nature.
Which shadows? I'm taking down some sheer sparkly shadows like the urban decay moon dust and struggling to find something that isn't very shifty

Love Kackie's Thrive liner shade. Tip for the Thrive mascara: I hated it for the first 2-3 months because the formula was heavy and wet. I felt like it gave a lot of length but weighed my lashes down. Once it dries out a little after 2-3 months it's AMAZING. It holds a curl which also ends up emphasizing the volume. Curious to see if you have the same experience I did.

I agree! I hated it at first but continued to keep trying it and I would say between 2-3 weeks of use it finally tightened up a bit and wasn’t so wet. I really liked it after that and absolutely love how easy and non irritating it is to remove. I’m trying the Hourglass tubing mascara now and I don’t like it as much as the Thrive. I’ll use it up but will go back to the Thrive when it’s time to replace it, maybe the brown shade next time 🙂
