It's not so much about the intensity of crazy, it is more about the frequency of crazy. Don't get me wrong, the crazy will get crazier, but few shows are this consistently crazy.
I love superhero physics. Exploding someone from the inside wouldn't mitigate impenetrable skin. His insides would be pudding but the skin would have contained the explosion. Also they could have much more easily shoved a gun up there and emptied it.
The song featured in this episode when Frenchie is doing his thing is La Foule by Youssoupha. Great song by a great artist, I'm glad this show got me to check him out.
I always assumed that Translucent was just full of shit. He is pretty delusional and self absorbed, so he thought he could bluff his way out as long as he could convey just what a great person he is. He almost succeeded too. All supers have varying degree of super strength and toughness, often to the point of being bullet proof.

I would call them Super Human rather than heros or villains. They are just humans that are realy showing how fucked up someone can be if there is no boundaries. Normal humans can't show themselves fully or at least I don't think ive ever met someone who is truly truly themselves except maybe with their partner but those Super humans, don't have to answer to much beside the company maybe.
