    Here’s one tip to make this way easier. You can actually double click the display in the program monitor and drag it- it will change the x and y so you don’t have to drag those numbers back and forth. As long as the correct clip is selected in the timeline, it will work! Happy editing.

      SKILLZPLUR true, but this is doing that effect in just premiere, but I agree that tracking in AE is much faster.

    I watched a video where they do this much easier with After Effect, but I don't really want to pay extra for it. I did it the same way you did except instead of using the rulers I made a simple title layer with a X and I put the X exactly in the middle. Then I keyed the frames the way you did, and delete the title later. Unfortunately this is a pretty tedious task.

    i have a 1 second clip where in a video game, an enemy in cover throws his pistol out into the player's feild of view, and when it hits the ground it just pathetically does nothing, no bounce no nothing, so i am going to zoom in really close and keep it centered as it goes to hit the ground. thanks so much for the help!

    thank you for this, bro this tutorial helps if you have a lot of motion blur. You gotta adjust all your settings on your camera to eliminate motion blur in order to use it on After Effects or it won't work as well. Thank you!

    Using a gimbal will ease this process alot by locking the horizon. Also shooting in 4k or higher resolution for better quality after scaling so much. Good job i liked the video!

    Well im using it to track oncoming motorcycles on the trail. As they come at me I like to zoom in and do a quick pause up close. Some like it when they show up on someone else video on well known adventure routes. Thanks.

    you dont need to use safe area to getting exact center just do a simple divide , like if your scene is 1920*1080 do this for vertical : 1920/2 =960 so frome the view menu (from add guid) make a specific vertical guid in pixle by this value and it will be exactly your center and then for horizontal do the same - 1080/2 =540 but this time from menue change the vertical to horizontal . that's it

    So helpful! Exactly what I was looking for! Believe it or not, used it to center on two UFOs I caught on video on my phone a month ago today. True story. Was zoomed in all the way on iPhone 15 so it was very shaky. I went framed by frame for a couple of hours and centered it as perfectly as I could. Thank you so much!

    Hey Javier, After Effects has a much better tracker but when I bring it back to Premiere Pro the resolution is all messed up. Could you please share how to keep it nice and focused importing from After Effect or is it After Effects where I'm not doing things right?

    I have done this effect several times but in between frames the ball I am filming looks a little glitchy. I’m sure it’s because of the camera I’m using, what camera do you suggest or what features does a camera require to get rid of the glitchy-ness? Thank you !

      up the shutter speed on your camera. that gets rid of the motion blur.

    I'm centering in on someone skating away from me driving towards a goal to score, zoom and center ! I'm gonna try to incorporate this. ! Wish me luck ! I have go pro on helmet I play goalie and skate out as defense as well so this technique will help a lot !

    Thanks! I'm looking for a way to do a similar thing. The camera man is doing a little panorama shoot, and I want to zoom in and keep the center at it's place. Is there a better way than this work?
    It's a very "slow" clip, nothing happening in it really, but I want it to look like the camera is fixed.
    Any ideas?

    Your video is great but I think that what i've done so far will affect the object center effect. Hi Javier, I'm going to be using this effect with a moving and clapping baby. I also want to change the color of the back of my moving and clapping baby but I don't want to change the color of the baby, I want to keep the baby's color original. Is the object center effect work for a moving baby which I want to move with the motion at an original maintain color? Not sure if I'm saying the above description.
