"BEHOLD HIS MIGHTY HAND!"
The greatest line of the greatest movie.
Amen!
Imagine being there at the Red Sea when it separates
AMEN! 🔥
Thank you Mr. Heston for keeping God on the Silver Screen.
No movie today could compete with this. That’s why these movies are classics.
... and still shown on high days on TV❤
Not this one.
It is also a lie, since it was not the Red sea that was parted but the Reed sea.
😢I'm 56 yes old ❤❤❤love epic movie watch this every Easter since I 8yrs old blessing 🙌 🙏 ❤️
The allegation that Israelite slaves built the pyramids was first made by Jewish historian Josephus in Antiquities of the Jews during the first century CE, an account that was subsequently popularized during the Renaissance period.[26] While the idea that the Israelites served as slaves in Egypt features in the Bible, scholars generally agree that the story constitutes an origin myth rather than a historical reality.[27][18] But the fact that the Bible's depiction of Israelite servitude accords with what it is known about slavery in ancient Egypt has convinced some scholars that the story probably has some historical basis.[28][29] In any case, the construction of the pyramids does not appear in the biblical story.[26] Modern archaeologists consider that the Israelites were indigenous to Canaan and never resided in ancient Egypt in significant numbers.[30
"The Lord of hosts will do battle for us!"
Chills Every time.
“…Behold His Mighty Hand!”
AMEN!!!
I STILL get chills watching this. All the CGI in the world couldn't make this better.
If it were made today (without CGIs but produced as it was done in the 1950s), it would cost about $500 million. Parting of the Red Sea and the writing of the Tablets are impressive scenes.
Amen
The movie's theatrical style sets it apart from the subsequent films, resulting in a significant improvement in quality.

What a great movie. Send chills all over.
"Who shall withstand the power of GOD". Amen.

I still burst in tears watching this movie
You're easy pickings.
The Best line in the movie: "The Lord of Hosts will do battle for us". Brings me to tears each time I hear it. There is no movie that even comes close to this one. The cinematography is the Best! Thank you God!
I was lucky enough to c this in the theater in 1965-66....I never forgot it😺😺😽
Yes you're the theaters back then were real events to get involved in. The screens you see in so many movie movie theater sceens can fit in your living room.. l worked às an usher at the RKO Dyker movie theater in Brooklyn in the late sixties with all the Technicolor for these classic movies I always remember my mom crying at these movies go screens must have been at least 50+ feet long..those theaters for the most part beautiful. Those were the days
But the movie came out in 1956
@@shanegrim5421 ...it was re-released around 65 or so....they showed it at a kids club in Lake Tahoe...along w the movie SHE...both were great in the theater ✌️✌️😁
Luck you! I bet that was great!
I'm 60 and I still think this is one of the Best movies ever!
@@marshamariner7897 I remember they re-released it in theaters for its anniversary, in Utah. Charlton Heston was one of the emmcee's covering the event.
This movie is so awesome! I see it every year! It's a tradition in my house! All the performances, actors, lines are classic! Anyone who doesn't like this classic film, must be severely lacking in good taste!
Me too
Praise G❤D.❤️✝️🙌🏻
"EVERY YEAR" as long as I can remember... FANTASTIC!!! 👍
I am not lacking in good taste, sorry.
Never ever again will a movie such as this will be recreated
Iconic
TRUE, TRUE, TRUE
Indeed it can't get TRUER than this !!
Because it is all about LGBTQ...... these days.
Persysta that movie was terrible
@@vikingkompass3664 the fuck does sexuality and sexual preference have to do with filmmaking?

I have seen this movie probably 30 times.I have been watching it since i was a child and channel 7 WABC would broadcast it every Easter Sunday. And this scene when Moses says,"Behold,His mighty hand."Still gives me chills. One of my favorite movies of all time. And the best telling of the Exodus...I went to see the recent Ridley Scott interpretation starring Christian Bale and was quite disappointed.
Damn, and I just bought that Ridley Scott film, haven't watched it yet.
Yeah the parting of the Red Sea at the end really got me down too, I guess I shouldn't have expected the same exact scene as this but I guess they are trying to be as realistic as possible.
+Vincent Hannah I agree even after 46 years of watching it still gives me chills also, this is a family institution, for my family, remember watching as a family sitting on the floor, all the kids in our neighborhood would go home just as the movie started. we as little kids would keep checking the time, so as not to miss the beginning,, what a different world today
The Irony is? Ridley scott says he saw this as a child and wasn't impressed and it looked fake (and I call bullshit on that statement, even adults at the time thought this was amazing...to say nothing about the view through a child's eyes? cmon...don't sound so superior) thus he made his own version? and its nowhere near as good...60yrs later.
Vincente Hannah Uwe
I remember watching when I was a kid and crying because of the horses....😢
This scene is so magnificent that I burst into tears every time I watch it. Our God IS God!
Ahahahahaha, yeah mate, me too! Or God is so Mighty and Epic, no story invented by man can be comparable to the truth of the facts of God!
George Chlupsa this scene touches me every time, just as it did when I watched it as a child
Amen. At 3:47 I'm struck by how the actors nearest to Moses portray an utterly awestruck and worshipful response.
George Chlupsa
Tears came to my eyes too, when the fiery pillar stood tall! That's OUR GOD! A consuming fire! GLORY!
Ha ha ,are you Jews ?
How can they make a movie so real to have the sea open up and for people to walk thru a divided sea?! Amazing movie and Mosses actor did a great part in his role! ... praise God and his son!! ❤❤❤❤❤

I love how CB DeMille was still directing actors to move and react as if he was still doing silent films. A classic!
Cecil B DeMille made moves on a grand scale, still the best biblical move ever
Have you ever seen his black n white movie
yes
yes Ben Hur won far more Oscar's, and was a great movie. However it is not a holiday classic that appear on primetime TV, also if you ask ppl to name a biblical movie we all know that 10 commandments would win hands down
John Donahue I don't disagree with what you are saying
The great film of all time.
I love how the sky and sea start churning even before Moses lifts his staff to part the sea. I know its a movie, but its like you can feel God's presence and the power building.
You can't feel something which does not exist.
Wait, I have a bridge to sell you.
In Brooklyn.
He is great and worthy to be praised. I cry every time think about all that he has done for me
he did nothing, he does not exist.
One of the best movies in movie history
In 1956 people must have been blown away by the Parting of the Red Sea sequence. Best lines in the whole movie "His God is God!" Fade to black....................
IN 1960 I SAW THE FILM WAITING FOR 2 HOURS. NOW I AM SEEING THE SAME FILM IN MY MOBILE. IT IS UNBELIEVABLE.
People tend to forget that when the Ten Commandments was first released in 1956 to the public it received very mixed reviews. Most of the public loved it. Many film critics and some other film reviewers and organizations hated it or gave it very poor reviews, although some others did like it. Surprisingly a lot of the criticism seemed to be aimed mostly at its creator, director Cecil B. DeMille. It did not win any of the end of the year film awards and only got one Oscar.
That comes from the 10 commandments in 1923!!
And then general snoring
Is God is God, there is nothing else that can be said❤
The best movie I have ever seen.
May I question your taste ?
the greatest movie ever and the greatest scene ever
No and no.
I always tear up at Pharoah's confession: "his God is God"
ME TOO
Yep he got mighty smart when he said he's a king and not a butcher real brave wasn't he
I've always loved the subtlety of this special effect. Look closely, and you can see the dark clouds have been slowly creeping up together over the Red Sea for the first minute of this clip - and the sea itself has been slowly churning this whole time, gradually getting more and more unsettled, until Moses invokes the power of God. Truly amazing attention to detail!
One of the finest special effects nd photography in Hollywood movies. What a starcast, direction, background music n editing. Truly classic n cut above.
This movie will be a gem forever ! Last week it was broadcasting on the Channel TV (Arte France March 06th 2017) and it has beating record of audience (all channels reunited ), as well in Italy the same week ....This movie is Universal and no one can beat it (including the modern Hollywood)
One of My "FAVORITE" MOVIES of ALL TIMES!!! 👌🏾✌️👍🏼

I went to see the movie when it premiered in 1956 when I was 6 years old. The special effects are campy compared to today but you have to remember the time. In my opinion the greatest movie of all time with the greatest cast of all time. Everyone was a star in their own right. Who better to play Moses but Charleton Heston. I can't say enough about this classic.
What a year 1956 was for Yul Brynner. He wins the Oscar for playing the king in "The King and I." He plays the scheming Bounin in Ingrid's great comeback film, "Anastasia." And, he's a fine actor to overcome Cecil B. De
Powerful confession "HIS GOD IS GOD"...HALLELUJAH.
all glory to YAHWEH/JEHOVAH
And that's how a true man of God stands with his people. Facing with them, towards God. The beginning of the downfall of the church. Was when the rabbis started facing towards the people.. Putting themselves between God and his people. The Catholic and Christians suffering the same separation from God.

Partying of the red sea I just love it!!!!
Absolutely love seeing pharaoh admit, "his God is GOD." Amen
this is the best ten commandment movie ever made
Yul Brynner, a handsome man, brilliant actor. RIP.. His uniform is perfect.
I love the character of the general. He was loyal, sadly on the wrong side..
btw there's a great scene with him and Moses earlier when he is exiled to the desert. Everyone should see this movie!
Henry Wilcoxon; great character actor & also co-producer of TTC under the great C.B. DeMille. No; they don't make pictures like that anymore.... Great times, great cast, great movie!!!!RMA
Yes, he was loyal, and sadly on the wrong side. But take into account, he was prepared to participate in a genocide, and kill his former commander.
That's who it is, I couldn't think of his name, actor Henry Wilcoxon. Did anyone notice that when Yul Brynner was about to throw his spear when the pillar of fire appeared, the actor Henry Wilcoxon grabs Yul Brynner's arm and says" No Dathan you cannot breach the fire of God". He called him Dathan(Edward G.Robinson) instead of the name of the Pharoah's character Rameses. I notice it every time that I watch this clip.
I think he says "no great one"😅 not dathan
The Ten Commandments is a spectacular movie of a classic, ever made in technicolor produced and directed by Cecil be DeMilles acted by Charelton Heston and Yul brinar. Most people haven't seen it in a theater. That's how you see how terrific the effects of that time were. Practical effects including matt painting. Magnificent!!! NO doubt about it.
And, of course, without Charlton Heston it wouldn't have worked at all.
May JEHOVAH'S name be blessed for ever and ever

why do certain people feel the compulsion to drag politics and political figures into wonderful movies? Let's enjoy these wonderful scenes for what they are. Thank you for uploading Salvi528.
David sent
Part of it might be because the producers dragged politics into the movie. The "rule of law" is fine, but how does living among the Jews, which practiced slavery on others, and who stoned people for picking up sticks on the Sabbath or not having the right fringe on their garments, or for not being a virgin at the time of marriage, promote the "rule of law"?
@@shirtless6934 Your idea of rule of law is modern. Rule of law was very different in that time. You make an error by comparing the two and expecting similarity. EVERYONE practiced slavery, not just the Hebrews. Their rule of law was finally put in written form by Moses in what became the first 5 books of the Scriptures. It was God's law, much of which this modern society does not agree with. But it was a law that was needed until it was time for Jesus to come to earth.
This was perhaps the greatest scene in the film I've seen it many times it was one of the greatest films ever I watched it in its entirety every year since I was 11 in 1971 it's my favourite movie of all time the entire cast was brilliant including Charlton Heston and Yule Brynner a true legendary picture with Paramount Pictures.
