I always enjoyed this theme when Westwood One used it. Then it was gone. I wrote to Westwood One a few years ago to ask about it (I suspected it had to do with their break-away from CBS) and I got back a very nice reply from then-producer Howard Deneroff confirming that was indeed why it went away. I wasn't expecting to hear anything from anyone, and to get a reply from Mr. Deneroff was quite a treat. I am one of those guys who rarely watches a game on TV. However, I seldom miss a game on radio or Westwood One's XM Channel. It is the perfect soundtrack to an afternoon or evening in my workshop.
Wow, it's so familiar and everything comes clearly into view. The tearful "Sunday" by Les Friction has the unique epic grandeur that these boys select for their orchestral techniques. We're lucky too that the producers for NFL/CBS have such great flair and taste to include this amazing bit in the history of epic rock music.
Although an NFC Giants fan; I love the CBS music any day over the FOX music & bullshit that goes along with it! CBS has Kevin Harlan!!! He is awesome on radio if you ever go through a black out! He does radio for MNF!
Best NFL into ever. I like Nantz and Sims but also Ian Eagle and Dan Fouts rock too. The bird, and the beard! CBS just totally owns FOX all the way around. ESPN is by far the worst, in every category!
I prefer the other CBS theme that they usually play before a commercial break. The one that Gresh and Zo used on their "No Huddle" segment for Sports Hub listeners. Can't find the name though
My point is not only Harlan; they have Simms, Nantz, Ian Eagle, Dan Foutes, & even Soloman Wilcox is good. I forgot Dierdorf! Just to side track this story! Matt Millen was going to be the next Madden until he took that job as GM of Detroit. CBS should steal him from ESPN!
This is the best theme they ever came out with good job posthumus zone.this is my ring tone on my phone thumbs up.

They remixed that on Super Bowl LVIII (58)!
See, this is why CBS is the best. Thank god my Colts are in the AFC, because most of our games are on CBS.
