- Steel Dragon 2000 at Nagashima Spaland ナガシマスパーランド in Japan has some sexy new B&M trains as of 2013 and here is a complete POV and lots of off-ride shots of the ride! Filmed & Edited by Robb Alvey - www.themeparkreview.com 日本
It's impressive how B&M was able to make trains to fit the track design of Steel Dragon 2000 :) Such precise design for this ride, and looks a lot more enjoyable now :) A lot of people say this isn't the best giga coaster, and to some extent I will agree, but that sheer 95 mph speed still looks amazing throughout this ride. Just the feeling of speed looks to be awesome on this ride
@adrianne roddy It is my friend~ Also it was the coaster with the tallest lift hill before Fury 325 ~
I don't say this about non-upside down roller coasters but that looked REALLY fun and REALLY well designed. The layout was perfect & the height made all of that possible since it was fast enough to go through all that.
Cedric: I personally find going upside down to be overrated. You can't have the high sustained speeds on a looper or barrel roll that you can on one of these hypers or gigas.

We were filming before the park opened to the public. The line was about an hour most of the day.
Yeah, I left the games business three years ago to pursue our own thing with TPR. So yes, TPR is my job now.
haha I LOVE when I can hear you guys' commentary. It's like I'm apart of the action. Much more entertaining! Thanks! great POV

"Gee Steel Dragon, how come your mom lets you have TWO chain lifts?!"
Lennerd Lennard because she didn't let me have a cable like other rides my size, pisses me off.

If there is a way to top yourself you always find one Robb. This was outstanding.
Thanks so much for bringing us coaster fans continuous top notch videos time after time~
Rob/Boston
Wow. Looks sooo much smoother and faster! Would love to ride that one day
longest roller coaster EVER and I think highest roller coaster in Japan
Ikr 😭😭💯💯
geez!!! That Japanese don't mess around when it comes to speed!
This is like the only good coaster in Japan. Kinda funny how the longest is in Japan, fastest is in UAE, most inverting is in the UK, and the tallest is in the USA

This video making me feel better about this quarantine great video
Glad to see SD2000 is still good with its new trains. I did notice that not only Robb is riding, he is also on the station platform as the train comes back, magic :)
This is the second time B&M made trains for a coaster they did not make.
The first time being the now defunct Psyclone at Six Flags Magic Mountain, whose trains were later used as spare trains on Colossus for a few years afterwards.
Either way, it is very weird seeing genuine Bollliger & Mabillard roller coaster trains with 2-across seating, especially when they're on a ride made by another manufacturer.
@@Dolphanatic Is there a particular reason why B&M trains are being put on these coasters? I'm kinda curious as to why they just wouldn't go with the same trains they've had.
@@BacklogBattle B&M has been around for a long time and has basically become synonymous with smoothness and reliability, whereas lesser-known manufacturers like Morgan tend to have a more hit-or-miss reputation.
@@Dolphanatic Thank you for this! I've only known B&M for their coasters and not their rides' operating efficiency, though admittedly it makes sense given how many of their rides are up while others are down! I suppose that makes sense then that the park would go with their trains!
@@BacklogBattle Honestly, I'm really just guessing the reasoning I gave is what happened here. B&M has garnered a reputation over the years for building polished coasters that last a long time and don't break down very often, so it's not hard to see why they're popular in the industry.
They should put those trains on magnum xl 200
agree
Go the whole hog and give Magnum floorless trains. Just ditch the restraints for soft cushioned Y belts with some engineered-in slack for airtime
Wags that would be AMAZING
Magnum crushes your thighs
I was thinking the same thing-Love Magnum but would definitely like to see new trains
The new cars makes the ride look so much cooler.... need to go to japan
B&M train on a non B&M track?
I believe this proves RCT CTR real.
The coaster was built by B&M. Now give me likes.
the coaster was build by togo.
Gerstlauer trains on RMC track?
That’s been done before
I honestly don't know why I posted that comment, I'm pretty sure I knew that, lmao.
this is the best ride ever
It's a nice idea from the park! N&M trains are comfortable for sure! I think steel dragon feels like a new coaster.
Now I want B&M trains on Steel Force!
Love the old school sound of this coaster😊
Riding the Mamba at WoF makes Steel Dragon very familar. Except the Mamba is 205 feet and the Steel Dragon 2000 is over 300 feeg
318ft
Except mamba has a metric crap ton of airtime on the days they don't have the mid course brakes on really heavy
actually,, mamba is 200 feet, i'm mpretty sure it's pretty much a clone of steel force at dorney park
Mamba is 205 ft the 184 then 112 ft 580* helix and a 6 hill camelback ending in a double up. So no there different and also they were made within months of each other.
9999
Looks like this coaster can finally deliver on airtime. Especially on that first camelback.
That's a sexy coaster. Longer than I thought it would be.
We're the #1 theme park and roller coaster RUclips channel in the world! =) (and on top of that we also promote a roller coaster DVD/Blu-Ray series on our website, Amazon, and iTunes)
I was thinking too, how much fun just to travel and try roller coasters!
How Fast Is This Coaster Looks Very Smooth!!!
I think 96 mph.
It's slightly taller than Millennium Force, but much longer.
It's actually the longest roller coaster in the world (I don't think the length has been broken yet).
Beautiful looking ride, the new trains make it even better.
Thanks For That Info.
No problem.
I'd really like to try it someday, despite knowing that I'd break windows 10 miles away with my ensuing screaming like a million exploding seagulls.
It's 95 miles per hour.
looks crazy fast!
Its So High Its Got 2 lift Chains
Yup cant blame you
It only 318 feet tall
GameCenter Baker "only" xD
The Ride Expert looks like a mix between giga and hyper might be 280 ft idk haven't looked up yet
David Baker yep giga
I cried in this ride especially at the end LOL.
What I think about this ride is that it is basically a bigger version of MagnumXl 200
those are huge drops!!!
This ride lookd SCARY and CRAZY :D
You are so funny I just love to watch these vedio's
Technically, this isn't his job, he's actually a video game producer. You may have heard of a few of the games he's worked on: Mall Tycoon and Call of Duty.
It's 318 feet tall
hahahaah kanina lng ,,,nandito kmi,,,, gravehhhhhhhhh superrrrrrrr :D i like it
Good lord that first hill is BIG!!!!!
Wow! Is even faster than old trains!
It's cool how u can hear the screams only when ur in the tunnels
what a great looking ride! its like magnum xl200 on steroids lol
looks really smooth. man i gotta get to japan
Quick question - I'm sure you get this very frequently - but how are the rides (officials) allowing you to carry a camera? And how do you prop it up on the ride? Stick it on to the vehicle?
Do you actually get airtime on any of the hills? lol
Really? I've seen so many reviews and they all say you only get airtime on the first xd
hey Robb just outta couriosity how many feet is that straight down drop?
It look intense but awesome.
What was the noise at the station? Was that a warning saying train moving?
Yes in the way that apples and oranges are the same, because they are both food items.
Those are some sexy trains... Dang.
The B&M Trains is really really fast!
nice , same seats as shambalah! is it me or does this look animated
Is it smoother now Robb?
Is the reason for two separate chains due to simply how tall the lift hill is?
Nagashema park is near off my house 🏡 3 minute in car Seriously maybe here I am only how live very near off this lovely park😘💪🇯🇵🇦🇫👈😍😘♥️😊
The cow noise at the end made me laugh.
so are these the second gen hyper trains from diamondback behemoth intimidator etc and couldnt they have 1 chain on the lift hill because fury 325 is the tallest ride with a chain lift and if they did it on fury they can do it on here too
This comment makes no sense........
The manufacturer, D.H. Morgan, made two chain lifts. Don't question the logic.
+Pbub1 that's cuz you're part of the GP
Paul Slupski Not at all, he said D.H Morgan could have made a lift hill because B&M could 15 years later. I was pointing out that technology has advanced since the making of Steel Dragon 2000
+Pbub1 my apologies
;P during the ride up to the hill it looks so much like a theme park game
It kind of does.
That is the longest trip from the final brake run to the station. What's that about?
1 minute 13 seconds to climb that mountain. DAYUM!
Then look at MF lift hill, almost same height, but it is so much faster.
Because MF has a cable lift and this doesn't
***** ? MF is 94 m tall while SD2000 is 97m
***** Ah ok yeah they do look a little similar tho I can see why you got mixed up
Probably Kingda Ka, considering it is the world's tallest coaster
Did anyone notice that there are two separate chains on the first lift hill!?!?!
去年3回乗りました。ユニバのハリドリのジャンボバージョンと言う感じです。また乗りたい
the grand daddy of long Japanese chain lifts!
OMG that looks so much fun
It never ends. Wow.
This is amazing
what the hell ! that's vriking cool!
Though it's not as long or as fast, the layout of this ride is very similar to Wild Thing at ValleyFair
+Magnesium PC I'm pretty sure he was talking about wild thing not being as long or as fast
The lift hill is so long, that they made a second chain to reduce maintenance costs.
I think you aren 't even afraid of coasters anymore
This is one of the best coasters ever isnt it?
"Bigger" is kind of ambiguous, but SD2000 is over 3,000 feet longer and over 80 feet taller at its highest point, so…this one's bigger than Goliath by far.
Awesome train. Silverstar Japan.
i want there to be a coaster that is 10000+ ft long
Nope can't be
The biggest problem is the rider throughput.
It doesn't look busy, was it a week day?
Oh cool I didn't know that. Thanks
As cool as that would be, I think it would ruin the ride a bit. I love wooden rollies because of that crazy, bumpy, out of control feeling and Magnum is much like that. The crampness of the trains, which the flimsy looking lap bar just adds to the whole Magnum experience. I know many Magnum XL-200 enthusiasts, as I worked the ride and myself as one, and I can say that they would feel the same.
Where this place in japan??exact location???? Is this fuji q????
Tpr, could you guys make a behind the scenes video one day pleas :D
this is my life long goal to ride
i figured up that the new b&m trains are about 30 seconds faster then the old trains
How about an Arrow chain lift? :3 slowest chain lift I know up! Except maybe PTC.
I was no just on this :)
That ride actually looks fun! Maybe a bit better than millennium force. Looks longer
Longest coaster ever
Final destination
this ride is boss
Isn't this the longest roller coaster in the world?
is it smooth?
Where just like the same i already go to disneyland. Nagashima spaland universal but where gonna go again in nagashima hehehe i thing this week
Ok guys we all what what steel coaster is the best-Diamondback
3:16 NO TRIMS! NO TRIMS! NO WHAMMIES!
Is this the Peter Tomarken roller coaster?
I would love to ride this
if only i had thought about that..
oooohhhhhh I mean I soooo want to ride this, but then i have to ride it.......
SMEXY TRAINS!
there is something about a tunnel that sends signals to your brain that you have to scream.
1:26 I think I see Corkscrew at the lower left.
How tall is that
so cool
Hopefully now they'll stop chucking wheels!
Borinja and Mabirado ressha!
