    I love this album. I was 14 in 83 when it came out, I still have the vinyl that I bought then, it is greatly worn out, because I had played that dang thing to death! Of all the criticism that this BEAUTIFUL album has received, most people do not realize the great impact and influence that it played in metal at that time. They broke the mold, they created a new sound (muffled as many may say) but unique and special, and EVERY new and-up-and-coming Death, Black and Speed band took inspiration from this album, from Celtic Frost, to Venom, Sanctuary, Helloween, Running Wild, Kreator, Savatage, Possessed, and so on, they very much followed down the same steps, the same sound, although a bit more aggressive and so on, but none of that GREAT music would have emerged if Sabbath hadn't had the balls to record this album. Without this album , we would have Iron Maiden and Judas Priest and all of the classic forms of Heavy Metal, or Glam Rock.

  • @labontetrevor
    @labontetrevor 6 месяцев назад +6

    I always thought of it as a classic. Older brother would CRANK it on the stereo, so scary the way they move through eerie quiet bits and make you wait a moment before those huge ultra-primo classic Sabbath riffs come crashing down, heavier and spookier than ever. Now add in Gillan’s astonishing vocals, it’s a home run imo. Also their sessions disturbed a nearby-quartered priest and then Gillan in his signature style, wrote quite a literal set of lyrics “Disturbing the Priest.” How does one beat that? This stuff used to really captivate me as a young kid. I want to add that I am a Christian and not any kind of satanist or person that would want to glorify anything like that. I just think heavy riffs and dark music sound lovely, and sometimes reflect quite accurately of the kind of world we live in.

    An excellent presentation of content in subject matter. Will constructed well presented and well done keep up the excellent work.. personally in my opinion this is one of Black Sabbath best music albums. The flow of trashed to disturbing the peace, going to zero the hero with the dark and Stonehenge. Just makes that side of the album flow so fast and you want to listen to it again and again. They talk about some of the album being muddy . But the vocals and screams on disturbing the priest or just hypnotizing more so than I heard on any Ozzy Osbourne or Ronnie James Dio vocals with Black Sabbath. I'm not disrespecting Ronnie or Ozzy Osbourne they were great in their own rights too... It's The sign of the Southern Cross... All of his fans can only hope someday we'll get a remix of the Born again album to which standard the band says it should be.

      From my research the film reels were not stored properly and have damages. Black Sabbath Sabbology is a book I wrote on Black Sabbath footage. www.amazon.com/Black-Sabbath-Sabbology-1970-Unauthorized/dp/B0CG89MM6N/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=

    I've reassessed it since.

    Most Ridiculous Amazing Awesome Record Ever! Definitely in my top 15 of desert island records-- all genres! Sludge Sloppy Precision Master Machinist Metal Mechanics NEVER done before ever as like hence you need hearing protection and muffler hearing protection provided and included. Brilliant Piercing Vocals and Mastercraft Lyrical Poetry with Drunkenness. To Be Drunken, with Wine, Women, or Song Always Be Born Again Drunken. Absolutely One of the Best Metal Albums of All Time. So unique, so improvisational, so absurd, and so haunted, Gothic, yet hilarious to boo: , an masterful musician rhymic art. Down to the everything about sonic psychedelic inebriated debauchery; the album cover as a a massive masses pop amateur rodent repellent low budget mock up! I LOVE this LP no $^÷t right!?

    Je n'avais pas aimé ce disque à sa sortie, depuis je l'ai écouté des centaines de fois, je viens de me le procurer en vinyle, c'est vraiment un très bon disque de Sabbath avec un super chanteur, ce qui en fait un disque particulier dans la disco du groupe, Gillan est tout de même un chanteur extra...

    tak silny a tvrdy album born again s ianom gillanom .skoda ze nemal pokracovanie,utiekol na reunion k deep purple,kde ho o blackmore opet vyhodil,a potreti krat v 1993 uz odisiel blackmore,ktory gillana nenavydel,nechcel snim uz tvorit ziadnu hudbu.v tom case bol nestabylni .zazlievam mu ze pocas turne po usa 1984 utiekol od black sabbath.,neudal ziadny dovod.narusil rozbehnute turne.

    I have recently gotten in the habit of having conversations with ChatGPT. It has an amazing talent for literary analysis, so I fed the lyrics from Born Again into it, asking what the songs are about. I discovered some really amazing things. I made additional connections that the AI did not make, which even further enhanced my appreciation of the lyrics. I didn't even like the lyrics when I first heard them. Now I know they're a brilliant commentary about shifting cultural values of the early 80s. It was the decline of hippy idealism and the rise of Patrick Bateman and the Satanic Panic. Ian Gillen was there to tell us rocker types what to watch out for, he was just a bit cryptic about it.

    Joe Elliott is best as a Def Leppard vocalist especially on Hysteria but Ian Gillian is best as both Black Sabbath Born Again and Deep Purple vocalist.
