don't waste the best years of your life, being loyal to a toxic person.
one of the biggest mistakes people make in life is, thinking we have unlimited time. time is free, but it's priceless. you can't own it, but you can use it.
you can’t keep it, but you can spend it. and once it's lost, you can never get it back. the problem with time is, eventually it always runs out.
cheers from southern ontario, canada 🍁

So true. And although I dragged myself through 27 years of it, I'm now out and won't spend another pico-second there or with anyone like that again. Not now, not for all eternity.

I like that "You have been given a second chance..." it is/was a blessing even when I felt bad and was made to feel guilty for not giving them another chance or a "fair chance." Thank you for saying that.

Thank you this message is so empowering. After 40 years of being taken advantage of while I trusted her completely, I can now look at her and see the truth. She shows as cold and guilty of treating me with total contempt. Lost.

Making your covert Narcissist, being INDIFFERENT is the Most HEALTHY n Natural thing there is. No Effort involved. Being Detached or becoming Detached takes no real effort. It's a natural reflex action... Like dropping a hot pan ...👍🥳✌️😊

I’m stuck in a 34 year marriage with this”CN” he ruined our marriage( no attention, time, affection, communication….basically neglect) you would think he would ask for a divorce, move out… but, no. I no longer wait for or rely on him for a relationship( separate rooms…)I thank God two of our adult kids live at home. They are a buffer and make it easier to be here.

I've noticed that in narcissist's, they are never interested in you or what you do. They ignore and neglect. Growing up my mother never showed any interest in me. I then witnessed my sister become her mother with her own kids. Narcissist's are disgusting people.

Sounds like a real man who switched off from you a long time ago. I wonder what happened for him to completely switch off like that. Must’ve been something closer to home. I do wish you the very best if you decide to leave and start fresh.

I’m so sorry for what you’re going thru. You’re life would probably be wonderful if he wasn’t there.
Yet I noticed you said you were glad your two adult kids were at home cause they helped buffer the situation?
I’m not trying to be cruel, but if your kids grew up around him then they have experienced narcissistic abuse also. Now as adults being at home and used as a buffer is horrible for them. Even if you don’t see it, he is abusing them daily. You should get them out of there.
Let them have a better life. 😢

I just found out my 3x is trying to get information on me. We divorced in '94, our kids are in their 30's. They've went no contact long ago as well. There's absolutely no reason for contact. Luckily, he's a thousand miles away.

"He was born in the summer of his 27th year coming home to a place he'd never been before" Looks like Danielles back in Colorado on another ski trip again. Begin ALL these tactical steps toward making a Narcissist feel INSIGNIFICANT by kicking off the Super Bowl of No Contact by vowing never to make "Eye-Contact" with the hobgoblin again. Depp destroyed Amber Heard with this tactic. Because it works!!! Takes the starch right out of em...

Easiest is to change your voice tone and modulation, as they " betrayal signal " you, smile, cause they are all about your physical responses and verbal responses..full up your shine before leaving..I just made that up Betrayal Signal,, they do it all the time, mixed in with, " virtue signaling " it's all an effort to get you to react..Andro benefit the insane brain movie they star in

I was very successful at one corporation in the US. My director (a young American) stopped one day at my cubicle and said for everyone around to hear: "You are not important." I didn't answer. I let my achievements speak for me rather than empty words. I still remember his face when he was saying that. Its expression looked exactly like my mother's.

Yes, if you could imagine me for a minute as the narcissist, it would be like this: I am not an evil man, but if at times I can't handle things and you refuse to react in any way. And who even knows if it's refusal, you just are non-plussed like you are incapable of doing or feeling anything. I am deep trouble. "How bad is my problem at the. moment". On a shameful husband scale of 1 to 10, where am I? I know I'm blowing it, but just how badly? I know that I'm screwed right now, but just how much have I lost. Now, I'm not angry. I'm angry and afraid. And you will never, ever know if it's just a game. They don't have an answer.

I haver found anything either in my experience growing up or since that retutes the claim that these people are pathologically immature. Either they feel big at the centre of the universe, while they're being fed with admiration and being catered to, or they collapse into victimhood, when they're not. They don't really comprehend that they have to earn things by contributing value, just like a bratty pre-schooler, instead expecting to get whatever they want gecause they "deserve" it just for breathing.
Just like a young child, they don't really have a well-developed sense of identity, so they have to be constantly reinforced, and to have their big important feelings reflected back to them. So I think ignoring them drives them totally crazy, because it denies them this reinforcement, exposing them to their fear of insignificance.
    That's been my experience, anyway.
