Ive been very impressed with this 7 string. I bought a Hipshot A-style bridge with 18mm spacing, tuners should be replaced as well. Helpful for writing new material in the higher registers..

Yo tengo ese bajo y es increíble lo bien que suena y lo cómodo que es a pesar de su tamaño.

A friend of mine has this exact bass which he strung "backwards". Instead of having the high F#, he put a Low F#0 instead. So now it's tuned to F#0BEADGC

How did you find the G C F projection, I have the MK1 hbz, great BEAD, but thins out more the higher up the neck I go...

@@laurenceellis8311 that's a really good question, as with all of these things it's hard to get that balance. Personally, on this instrument I've found it quite balanced across the strings (it certainly sounds dynamically rich to my ear in the first bit of the video when I'm playing chords!) I think some of the issue is that with any bass, as you play higher you're losing the fundamental m and starting to get more overtones, which makes the notes sound thinner. I've had no complaints with the bass, though!

@mattparkerbass very strange Matt, I also have a Conklin GT7 with bartolini pups, and that sings like a canery up and down the entire neck...I really do like the HB and I got it really cheap (150 euros) and after swapping out the tuners, doing a restring (pyramids) and a top to toe setup, it plays like a dream, but I'll be darned if I can't get more output from the stock pickups...

@@laurenceellis8311 interesting! Perhaps you could try a boost or EQ pedal to help balance those highs and get them sitting right in the mix?

Trim pot inside electronics cavity has adjustment for preamp gain. It's on underside of black box...
