If you know bullets (or paintballs) are heading in your direction it helps mentally fuck with someone. Also one small peak and you’ll be hit. Retired D1 speedballer here. The position he is playing is called the "Snake". This is the fastest and most aggressive position in speedball, requiring a sprint in to a full length dive to very low cover. Most corner "Tower" players are laying streams of paintballs toward the snake to eliminate them fast. If a snake is fast enough and accurate, they can wipe out half a team from low cover in seconds. This jump is not easy, so props to this guy even trying to make it work after that hopper catastrophe. 😂

They hold angles and spray routes so the enemy team cant get to their main bunkers. Its a strategy. I honestly love how paintballers like this are able to so easily glide across the ground. Like I know it's not easy, I've tried but it's so impressive the amount of mobility they have
The nicer xball and nppl fields have astroturf which is easy to slide on. When you combine that with the absurd amount of oil based paint on the ground it becomes like a slip n slide. If you don’t have any of that going for you, it comes down to literally throwing yourself knees first as hard as you can into your bunker. Which after a few rocks in an under maintained course makes you reconsider your life choices. Pants are also usually designed to be conducive for sliding, yet baggy enough to break the velocity of some rounds without getting you tagged.
Not official, but everyone knows you shouldn’t put paint that fell on the ground into your marker, it messes up the internals with all the dirt the paint had.
From what I’ve figured out is that to be a pro paintballer you need to be wasteful with your ammo. This guy must be the GOAT, because I’ve never seen someone lose it that fast.

Elastic wrist bands work well for this . The pop off / fall off problem was such a pain that they made the spire 5 to try and solve it.. despite spire 4 having just a few years on the market
